Sing to the Heart
"The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your Dreams"
-Oprah Winfrey
I've had only one love in my whole life; and it wasn't exactly a person for who I fell in love... I'm talking about my guitar, my precious instrument sent from heaven to light my dark and empty life with the melodious sound of the strings colliding with my nails. I swear you, it feels like a little piece of heaven.
My guitar was my only lifesaver when my entire world was falling apart, starting form the divorce of my parents and ending with my "little" problem of dyslexia
I used to be cheerful and wearing a true smile everyday, but that is the past and now its so hard to put on a smile on my face and pretend that everything is ok. Because besides of the fact that now my life is better, I can still feel my heart screaming for some help and love from my parents - specially my mom.
So I grew up in the environment of parents fighting for my custody while I just wanted to learn how to spell a stupid word for my English class. Such an amazing childhood, don't you think?
But as I said before, Lola -my guitar-was my only lifesaver when I almost drowned with the problems of my parents-
"Thanks everyone, see you next Saturday" Annabeth said while Taylor was finishing her drum solo.
"I don't know who you are thanking, the only person here besides us, is the Drunk John and he is more in hell than here" I said in a bad mood. Another Saturday wasted in this bar, and zero fans so far.
"Hey cheer up, Lizziebear" Annabeth replied while we were going down of the little scenario located in the middle of the building, next to the bar table and near enough to the exit. Perfect spot.
The Bar was kinda old style, one barman preparing the shots and no stripper trying to let stupid perverts in bankruptcy. The bar was owned by Taylor's Uncle, so it was easy for us to get the job, the bad side was that Mark- Taylor's Uncle- doesn't believe we have any talent and only let's us play every Saturday at midnight.
And I know what are you thinking "Midnight, Saturday, sounds good. It must be full of hot teenage boys" sorry for the disspoinment but no strippers, no boys, which means no fans, not a single chance to become famous.
Life Sucks.
"Annie, Liz is right. We haven't played for a real public since the school dance last year" said Robin, our readhead bassist.
"Oh 'cmon. You too Robin, I can understand it from Dark Princess"Taylor pointed at me with her finger "but from you?" She crossed her arms in disappointment and shook her head from side to side to make it even more dramatic. Ladies and Gentleman please meet our 'Drama Queen'.
"Hey I'm not a 'Dark Princess'"I replied acting like I was offended "I'm the Evil Queen if I were talking about unreal characters. You know I love red apples and I accidentally poisoned a raccoon once"
My two friends and stepsister rolled their eyes and I smiled. I love to piss them off, it makes my day.
Yeah I know I'm such a good friend.
"Hey, Kidos" called Anna whom was looking at something on her phone.
"Annie. We love you but... We don't wanna see more videos of that stupid cat playing the piano. We are not going to hire him. We are a Girl Band, not a Circus looking for new phenomenons" I said using just a little of my sarcastic tone.
"No, this is not about Mr.Ruffus... Wait, you guys don't like my little cat" We all shook our head from side to side." You are just jealous that he plays better than all of you together"
"Yeah, Whatever. What was that thing that you were going to say?" I said putting my guitar in her case while Taylor and Robin were helping Drunk John to get out of the bar, as always.
"No, now I'm not going to tell you" I shrugged.
I really wanted to know, but if there is something I can't stand is someone acting so childish, by the way, I know her so well and for sure she is going to tell us sooner or later."Fine, I'll tell you. Just because is too important for the band" Told you, she is my stepsister. I know everything about her, even the things that she thinks I don't know. For example, she smiles a lot at her phone when she is chatting with some cute guy from her school. Yeah, I have a master degree in Annabethologia.
"Now you are talking" Said Robin while we were taking a seat in one of the tables near the scenario.
"Remenber that show that we used to watch when we were like fourteen years old"
"How I met your mother?" I said.
"No, the other one"
"Skins" Taylor said. We all looked at her "What?"
"We didn't watch that show when we were innocent little fourteen year old girls" Robin replied.
"That's what I said, Barney. What did you guys hear?" Taylor said with an fake innocent smile.
"Ok, ok. This is taking us nowhere. Can you please go straight to the main idea of this weird conversation?" I said trying to keep my eyes open. Suddenly I started to feel a little tired.
"Well, the show was "Sing to the Heart"" We all did an "Ahhhh" sound, that sound that everyone makes when you finally understand the joke" And they are finnaly doing auditions here!"
That was the moment when my body felt more awake than the time when I drank ten cups of coffee for keeping myself awake and watch the "How I Met You Mother?" marathon last year.
Sing to the Heart, was a reality show, which bands all around the country are taken to NYC to show their talent and win a contrat with Island Records and a World Tour.
We all started to scream and do stupid and crazy things that excitement makes you do.
Yeah, better prepare yourself world because Black Roses will have you under their control!
