+ Chapter 22. It's a stupid, boring meeting

Skyla was a bit anxious. She didn't sign it but she didn't want me to leave either. She tugged in my arm. 'Yeah, yeah... just sit down,' I said. I softly pushed her down while Ratchet kneeled down and grabbed my arm. 'Your arm will probably feel a little bit sore for the next couple of days. It's not a big deal,' he said. I rubbed her scalp. 'I would also like to take some blood,' he continued. She shifted and looked at me again. 'You're fine.' She looked at Ratchet again. I kept rubbing her head. Skyla was uncomfortable even she tried not to show it.

She stiffened when he injected her. When he finished he grabbed her other arm. 'Alright, I am going to take a some blood,' he said, cleaning up the spot with some alcohol. Skyla looked at me again. When she saw the quite large needle she freaked out and got up. 'Hey, it's alright. It's not a big deal. I've done it before and I am still alive. So many people do it...' I sat down and gently pulled her on my lap. 'You will barely feel it. Just a little pinch, that's all,' Ratchet said. He tied her arm with a band and searched for a good artery.

I turned her head to look at me. 'You wanna know what I have in mind for dinner tonight?' I asked. She shook her head. 'Pizza? It's been a while since we ate that,' I said. A smile formed on her lips. 'We can watch a movie and you can pick this time, alright?' She nodded again. 'Done.' Ratchet stepped back and I loosened my grip on Skyla. 'Do you expect to find something disturbing?'

Ratchet shook his head. 'You look healthy. Sunstreaker is taking a good care of you so I am not concerned. It's more for myself. For your blood type and some other stuff. For in your dossier,' he said. She nodded and leaned against me. 'Sunstreaker, I'd like to have a chat with you outside.' Skyla watched him walk off before looking at me. 'Don't worry. You're fine, remember? It's probably about me. Like always,' I said and kissed her nose before letting go of her. Skyla got up and sat down on the couch.

'Are there things I need to know about her? Previous injuries or illnesses?' He asked. 'She doesn't really talk about her past and I never asked either because I don't want to upset her. I don't like talking about it either,' I said. 'What about the scar on her stomach?' He asked. 'I don't know what happened there. Like I said, she doesn't really talk to me about that kind of stuff. I do now that sometimes she gets these panic attacks. She gets really anxious and starts hyperventilating. I am not sure what triggers them.' He hummed, 'alright. Thank you.' Ratchet left and I returned back towards Skyla.

'You were gone for quite some time.'

I shrugged as I strode in the main hanger. 'I've visited Sunstreaker,' I said. 'Is he behaving,' Prowl asked. 'He's fine.' I waved my servo and passed him. 'Weren't you with him the other day as well?' He asked. 'Shortly, yes.' He raised an optic ridge. 'Are you going to doubt me as well only because I have seen him twice?' I snapped. Prowl shook his helm. 'No, of course not.' He waved me off. 'Anyway, you're just in time for the meeting at 12 PM.' I gave a small nod and walked off. I caught up with Ironhide and we strolled together towards the meeting room.

'So, what's that fraghead up to?' He asked. 'Nothing special,' I said and sat down. 'Really? What is he doing all day then?' I shrugged. 'How am I supposed to know?' I mocked. 'I thought, maybe he told you something or you saw something,' he said. I shrugged and didn't reply. I don't want any trouble with Sunstreaker and he kept her alive for 6 months so I don't see why I would tell them. They're going to figure it out anyway. Despite Sunstreaker's best efforts. He can't keep her a secret forever and deep down he knows.

The meeting started. 'We will sent Sunstreaker,' Lennox said. I raised a brow. Humans usually don't decide which Autobots does what. If Sunstreaker figures out, he'll kill him without mercy or second thoughts. 'Why?' Lennox stopped his story. 'Excuse me?'
'Since when do humans decide where we go?' I asked. Optimus glanced at me. 'What is wrong with you today, Ratchet?' Optimus asked. 'Sunstreaker is right, you do let humans decide what we do,' I said in Cybertronian. Ironhide next to me stiffened and so did Prowl. 'I made that call,' Optimus replied back in Cybertronian. I snorted and shook my head. 'The humans are our allies, Ratchet. What did Sunstreaker say to you?'

'It's not about Sunstreaker, Prime. It's about what he said it true. Humans don't decide what we do. Don't forget we are here to help them. We are not their slaves and I think we are doing enough to help them,' I snapped in Cybertronian. 'Enough.' Prime glared at me. 'You can go, Ratchet.' I snorted and shook my head, getting up. 'It's a stupid and boring meeting anyway,' I snapped before I turned around and left, slamming the door shut behind me.

Skyla just fell asleep in my arms. She didn't really had a good sleep last night. I grabbed my phone off the couch next to me and picked up. 'Ratchet...' I sulked. 'You were right.' I raised a brow. 'About what exactly?' I asked. 'The humans... they do decide what we do. Lennox was telling Optimus where you had to go.' A silence fell while I was proceeding this. 'Of course they do... humans think because we are a quest we will do everything. They're dominant and we need to walk on eggshells to please stay on the Primus dammed planet. Honestly, we don't need to be here.'

'Do you ever think about Cybertron? How it was before the war?' He asked. His question surprised me. 'Yeah, I do... but I have different memories about it. I have never seen Cybertron from the same perspective as you did. I loved mostly in dark cellars and was forced to fight in arena's,' I said. 'You do know that you can't keep Skyla a secret forever, right?' He asked. 'I will for as long as I can. I don't want to lose her too...'
