+ Chapter 1. A shiny Lamborghini
I stared down the unlit two lane road. The road I see daily. I live in the creepiest and the most horrible place on earth. The orphanage is my home for many, many years. My parents couldn't afford to keep a baby and take care of it, so I was left on the doorstep. Barely two months old. Throughout the years, I had hoped to figure out more about my parents bur without success. No one knew who my parents are. All I have of them is a note that explains why they can't keep me and that I was born too early and nearly died. I certainly didn't have a good start in life.
Perhaps they thought the orphanage could change that. It would be a safe place for me to grow up and be around other kids but that's all an illusion. I am never loved by the people here. Sometimes I feel like I live in a factory. It's cold and dark. The other kids don't want to interact with each other or me. They're all abused, just like me. A few of them had luck to get adopted and end up in a lovely home, but no one ever came to pick me up. Over the years, I lost my hope. I am not good enough apparently. That's what they told me as well.
I walked up to the porch and walked inside. When I was ten years old, I was thrown off the stairs, and stabbed. It made such an impact on me that I decided to keep my mouth shut. The fear of saying something wrong still hunted me. The pain I experienced back then is still engraved in my mind like it happened yesterday. I haven't spoken for eight years and the new kids here, think I am mute. It didn't bother me. The less people know the truth the better it is. Including for myself
I walked upstairs and had to face Eden. She's just like me, heavily abused but instead of hiding in the shadows like I do, she started to pick on people. To make herself feel better and smooth the mental pain. I have never liked her. She arrived here when I turned 11 years old. She had no idea what had happened to her. Despite her bullying, the people who aren't her victim absolutely love her. They follow her everywhere and do everything she asks. I wasn't sure why. 'Hey, mute girl.' I rolled my eyes and slowly sat down on my bed. 'Didn't I tell you to stay away from me? I am talking about this morning, remember? I don't want to see your face every darn day,' she snapped and got up.
I knew exactly what she was talking about. She didn't want me to be here, in our shared room. She wanted to hang out here with her closest friends and I am not one of them. Eden grunted and paced around before turning back towards me. 'I am serious about, next time you will regret it, freak,' she snapped and left the room. I looked down at my lap for a moment. My stomach rumbled. I skipped breakfast this morning, maybe not a good idea.
I got up as well and headed downstairs. I missed lunch as well, but perhaps I could sneak into the kitchen and get some food. Stealing food is a crime here and I knew stealing is wrong but they don't fed us good. I looked around before sneaking into the kitchen and opened a cabinet. I found some old bread but it was enough for me. As I opened the sack, I heard someone clearing his throat behind me. 'Excuse me?' I flinched and turned around,— backing off until I hit the counter. 'You dirty thief!'
Mr. Cooper forcefully grabbed me and threw me on the floor. I was frozen in fear. He's the boss around here. He started hurting me repeatedly with the stick he carried around all day to hit people with. He raised the stick but changed his mind and grabbed me, smashing me against the fridge. 'I thought I was clear about sneaking into the kitchen,' he snapped. I felt tears welling up in my eyes. Mr. Cooper dragged me away from the kitchen, through the living room and hall towards the front door. He opened it, threw me outside and slammed the door shut.
Despite the horrible pain in my bones, I managed to get up and leave the area. I guess I am staying on the streets for tonight. I knew it was a mistake, but I was so hungry. I sat down on a bench near the park. I was afraid of what will happened to me now I am 18 years old. I am an adult and only a bother to Mr. Cooper. It had occurred in the past that people mysteriously disappeared. Mr. Cooper makes money out of us if we get adopted but I will never get adopted. Deep down, I know he murdered them cold blooded. Where their remains are, I have no idea. Maybe buried somewhere in the garden or dumped in the river. Perhaps he cut them in pieces. I shivered at the idea.
I looked up by the sound of a powerful engine. A V12 to be exact. A beautiful yellow Lamborghini drove down the two lane road. I couldn't get my eyes off of the car. I have seen Lamborghini's before but not one like this. I couldn't really tell what was so special about this car. The paint job was nicely done. The car didn't had one single dirty spot or scratch and shone like the sun. I watched the car take a turn and disappear. Slowly I got up and followed the car where it had disappeared moments ago. The car had stopped at the end of the street. From where I was standing, a young guy hopped out and disappeared in the house. I had never seen him or this car before.
