Chapter 21: Meeting Nooshy

The next morning, Jamie and Johnny were just leaving the skateboard shop, Johnny holding his new skateboard.

"Thanks for the skateboard," Johnny told her.

"You're welcome," Jamie smiled.

Then they both heard upbeat music to see a crowd of animals cheering for someone. So they went over to see a female lynx, Nooshy, absolutely killing it with her dancing.

"Do you think she could help us?" Jamie suggested.

"Maybe. I mean, it would be worth a shot," Johnny said.

When Nooshy was done, she said as the crowd cheered, "Thank you. Thank you so much, everyone."

As the crowd either paid her or dispersed, Jamie and Johnny went up to her.

"Mate, you were amazing," Johnny complemented.

"Yeah. That was awesome," Jamie added.

"Much appreciated," Nooshy nodded.

They tipped her and she continued thanking the other tippers.

"Listen, can we buy you a coffee or maybe something to eat?" Johnny wondered.

"Whoa. That's a bit forward, ain't it?" Nooshy asked.

"Say what now?" Jamie asked.

"What? No! No. No. First of all, this is my girlfriend and we just want to talk to you about maybe--" Johnny clarified.

"Hey! You got a license to perform here?" a security guard asked Nooshy as he headed their way.

Nooshy pulled up her hood, looked at the gorilla couple, then told them, "Actually I'd love a chat. Let's go."

"Cool," Jamie said as they made their way out of there.

"And sorry. I thought you were his sister," Nooshy apologized.

"Well that's a first, but it's fine," Jamie told her.

They then made it to an ice cream place and sat at a booth. They chatted for a bit when the waiter brought over a huge chocolate dessert.

"Here you go. One volcano smoothie with extra chocolate lava sauce," the waiter said.

"Shut up!" Nooshy exclaimed before going in.

"Here. 50 bucks," Johnny said as he and Jamie put their halves of the money on the table.

"You split the bill?" Nooshy asked.

"For every date," Jamie smiled while lightly nudging Johnny, who smiled and nudged her in return.

"Now why am I here?" Nooshy wondered.

"Well, if you could just give us some dance lessons, you would literally be saving our lives," Johnny started then added, "Well, I need dance lessons. She can already dance."

"You kidding? I can't do half the stuff she can do. Also, I'm better at the couple dances," Jamie said.

"But if you're both really in a show, shouldn't you have a choreographer?" Nooshy wondered.

"We do, but it turns out he's a massive weirdo," Johnny answered.

"'Weirdo' is an understatement," Jamie muttered.

In response, Johnny put a hand on hers, making her look at him. He smiled reassuringly at her, which she returned it.

"And how do I know you two aren't weirdos? Hmm? How do I know you're legit?" Nooshy pointed out, getting their attention.

"Just come with us to rehearsal and see for yourself," Jamie said.

"Yeah," Johnny agreed.

"Whoa whoa whoa. I'm not just gonna follow some couple I don't know to rehearsal," Nooshy told them.

"Well how else are we supposed to prove that we're legit?" Johnny asked.

Nooshy shrugged at that as she had more of her chocolate volcano. The couple started thinking of something until they heard "There's Nothing Holding Me Back" by Shawn Mendes playing. They then smirked back at each other before he started humming and she got out of her seat. When he started singing, she started dancing and when he got up, he joined in, twirling, dipping, and just dancing with her and the crowd loved it.

[Johnny:]
"Oh, I've been shaking
I love it when you go crazy
You take all my inhibitions
Baby, there's nothing holdin' me back"

"What are you two doing?" Nooshy whispered in shock.

"Proving you wrong," Jamie whispered to not interrupt Johnny.

"You take me places that tear up my reputation
Manipulate my decisions
Baby, there's nothing holdin' me back

Oh-oh, oh-oh
There's nothing holdin' me back"

"I knew you two were weirdos," Nooshy smirked after the applause from the other customers, making the couple chuckle, then Nooshy said as she stood up, "But sounds like you're not as weird as your choreographer, so you got a deal."

"Yes!" the couple cheered.

They chatted a bit more until she finished her dessert then the gorilla couple lead her to the Crystal Tower Theatre.

A/N Nooshy is awesome! I'm so jealous because I've danced for over 20 years and can't do what she can do! AHH! Alright, back to the story.
