Chapter 2: The Talent Scout

Everyone ran offstage as Buster ran into one of the flower actors.

"Oh hey, Sammy, you really got those moves locked down, hmm?" Buster told him.

"I sure do, Mr. Moon," Sammy replied before running off.

"Yeah, look at you!" Buster laughed in delight.

Then he went to his main cast.

"Great job, everybody! Great job!" Buster told them.

"Thanks, Mr. Moon," Johnny said, taking off his hat.

"It means a lot," Jamie smiled.

"Yeah, I think we pretty much nailed it!" Gunter exclaimed.

"So is she here?" Rosita asked.

Buster nodded and lead the group to peek through the curtain.

"There. You see the dog? Middle third row?" Buster clarified.

"Wow. She's younger than I imagined," Rosita commented.

"Yeah. Well, supposedly she's one of the best scouts in show business," Buster said.

"I can't tell if she's enjoying it," Meena said.

"Come on, let's get a better view," Buster replied.

They all then went to a lift and were taken up to the top of the stage where Miss Crawly was with a telescope.

"And how we doing up here, Miss Crawly?" Buster asked.

"Oh very good, Mr. Moon. So far, I counted nine smiles, two belly laughs, and five chuckles. Although the last one could've just been gas," Miss Crawly informed.

"Well that's proof, right? She must like the show," Buster said.

"Oh my gosh!" Jamie whisper-shouted.

"You think so?" Meena asked happily.

"I hope so," Rosita added hopefully.

"Alright, keep up the good work. Come on, everybody. Back to your positions," Buster told them.

They all headed down excitedly.

"You really think she'll like us?" Jamie asked.

"She has to. It's our big chance," Johnny answered then wondered, "You're not doubting yourself again, are you?"

"The thoughts still come every now and then, but I try to ignore them," she blushed.

"Well, if you need anyone to help you continue ignoring those thoughts, I'm here," he assured, putting an arm around her.

She smiled and snuggled into him, saying, "I know."

Buster then sighed in content.

"'Dream big dreams'. That's what I always said, right?" Buster asked.

"Mm-hmm," Miss Crawly nodded

""Well, it looks like we're taking this show to the entertainment capital of the world," he replied.

"Mr. Moon! She's leaving!" she said worriedly.

"Huh?" Buster questioned before taking the telescope.

"She's leaving the show!" Miss Crawly repeated.

Buster saw that, sure enough, the talent scout was leaving her seat and heading for the exit.

Buster closed the telescope, handed it back to Miss Crawly, and instructed, "Miss Crawly, stay right here."

"What are you gonna do?" she asked.

"I'm gonna follow that dog," he answered.

He then leapt for his zip line and went through the hole there, over the audience, and landed in the royal box, startling Nana Noodleman.

"Good heavens!" Nana exclaimed.

"Hey, Nana," Buster greeted.

"What are you doing?" she questioned.

"The scout is leaving," he answered.

They looked down to see the scout going out the doors.

"Ah. So she is. Hurry!" Nana urged and Buster did just that.
