Waves
I hiss as I open my eyes, the sunlight pouring through the window blinding me for a moment. My arm covers my eyes in attempt to lessen the pain. It just barely works. A sigh escapes my pale, chapped lips and I turn to lay on my back, staring at the blank ceiling. The rattling of the fan drones on and on as I lay there, still and quiet, the only other sound being my quiet breathing.
Another sigh floats around the room as brown eyes scan the floor covered in extra blankets and clothes, before closing again. Groaning, I turn over on my side again and face the door. I inhaled as another figure passed by my vision, only to dissapear seconds after I noticed it.
"This sucks..." My voice was quiet, as to not disturb the other residents that were currently sleeping. I wanted to sit up to grab some food or something but my body didn't want to cooperate, so I just continued to lay there.
This wasn't the first time this happened. Hell.. it happened every day. I always felt the same need to either stay in bed all day, not bothering to even get up for food, or to do something. Get out of the house, draw, clean, anything to distract myself from the voices that kept repeating those same damned words.
But,,, there were those days where everything would collapse. All the waves I kept in bottles broke free and tried to drow me. They crashed all around, pulling me in every direction as I tried to swim to the surface to breathe.
I never did know how to swim quite well.
