Chapter Ten: Lemme Guess, Two Bucks?
"You know you feel same way about him, just tell him and stop being a chicken! " I shouted and threw popcorn at the TV. It was a good Saturday night. Yes, night. I literally didn't do anything all day since the party yesterday. I slept all morning and woke up at 12, I swear if my mom hasn't barged into my room yelling 'Get your ass up child! Half your life has been wasted sleeping! ' I'd go for more than half the day.
"You really need a life sweetie, " my mom said rolling her eyes at me from inside the kitchen.
That's right. I was watching Netflix and and binge eating something I wasn't going to regret later on. I've eaten a box of pizza, chocolate flakes, m&ms with my vanilla ice cream and now I'm eating pop corn with extra butter. I feel fat already. Like I care.
"Mom, you have to admit! She loves him and she is just trynna play hard to get," I turned and looked at my mom shoving some more pop corn into my mouth, "hard to get my ass. " I scoffed turning back to the TV and throwing more pop corn at it.
"Page, " my mom groaned coming out from the kitchen and started collecting the pop corn I threw on the floor, "you're messing up the place. "
"Mom, " I groaned, "I'll clean my own mess, now stop pretending to be a house wife and go bake or something." I dug my hand into the pop corn bowl and threw some more at her head.
She shook her head and stood up looking at me, "Child, throw some more pop corn at me and see that the pop corn won't be the only ones sleeping in the garbage waiting for the garbage truck to pick them up. "
Uhh, feisty mama.
My eyes widened and I smiled, "Yes ma'am."
She picked up more pop corn that I threw on the floor and threw them at me, "Now clean the mess kiddo! "
I sighed and put the pop corn bowl on the couch crunching down on the floor and picking up the pop corn rubbish following my mom back into the kitchen to throw them in tha trash.
"You have work tonight? " my mom asked once she went back to check her batch and I sat on the stool in the kitchen.
"Ah, yeah. Night shift, " I sighed softly rubbing my eyes.
"You look tired dear," she looked at me, her expression laced with concern, "do I have to call-"
"No, I'm fine. I know that in the end, it'll all pay off. Besides, I want to feel like I actually worked for my collage savings you know? " I smiled and hopped off from the kitchen stool pushing aside my blonde hair that feel messily over my face.
My mom leaned over the kitchen island and kissed my forehead, "I'm so proud of you. "
I smiled and moved back from the kiss walking up the stairs and yelled back to my mom, "I know. I'm proud of me too! "
Walking inside my room, I plopped down on my neat bed and sighed. "What time is it?" I asked myself and turned around picking up my phone on the nightstand and checking the time; 5: 57.
"Plenty of time, " I said once I read it. "What to do now? "
I sat back up and looked around my room. Everything was in place, but why did I feel like I was missing something? It was so obvious, yet, I didn't know. What was I missing?
"Eh, plenty of time to figure it out. Gotta go!" I said rushing into the shower and taking a quick bath. I had plenty of time to wait till work started so I had an idea. I was going to go to the store and buy stuff. Maybe to the bookstore or something.
After I washed, I slipped on my jeans, vans, my stripped T-shirt and my beanie and ran downstairs.
"Mom, I'm going to the store, need anything?" I said once I came down to the landing.
My mom turned from the stove and looked at me, "Oh yeah, I need two more dozens of eggs, two boxes of milk and sugar. That's all. "
"Okay cool, I'll be back," I said walking to the door.
"Honey, do you need extra cash? " my mom asked stopping me at the door.
I turned around slowly and looked at her, "Do you want to give me extra cash? "
I smirked raising my eyebrows, making her roll her eyes, "Go grab a hundred in my purse. It's upstairs in me your Dads room. "
I laughed and skipped upstairs to their room opening the door and walkimg inside searching for my mom's bag. Once I found it, I opened it and got the wallet out getting a hundred and putting back everything when my phone buzzed. I put back my moms bag and went back outside closing the door as my head slipped into my back pocket and fishing out my phone and seeing the massgae.
I groaned and opened it once I saw who it was, "What now? "
Brat: 6 o'clock. @ Starbucks.
I scoffed looking at my phones screen, "Who says? " I turned off the screen and put the phone back into my pocket walking down the stairs.
"Thanks for the extra cash, cash ya later, " I laughed walking out the door and coming to the garage but then stopped, "Dang it, I forgot the car keys. "
I walked back to the front porch and opened the door poking my head inside, "Ah mom, you know since you're not -"
"I'll be using the car tonight, " she said not looking at me as she took out a batch of cookies from the oven.
"But now that you're not-"
"I've got to bring these cookies to the Bake Gala in about, " she paused checking her wrist watch, "Oh look, now. "
"Then can I drive you there, then take the car?" I asked looking at her with pleading eyes.
"Nope."
"Then can you drive me to the-"
"Nope. "
"What about after you-"
"Nope. "
"Not even if I tell you I'll be fast as-"
"No No No, nope."
"Mom! "
"Page! "
"Ugh, what am I going to use to get to the store? " I cried looking at her already hanging loosely from the door knob.
"You know back in the day when I was your age, there was this thing called a coaster bus, yeah, totally awesome. You should try it, I gave you extra cash so no excuses about money huh? " she winked at me resting her hands on her hip.
"I'll walk, " I deadpanned and spined around on my feet walking to the door.
"Don't walk! Take the bus Page! "
Why do mothers have to be so good at arguing?
I looked at her and narrowed my eyes,"I'm out of here, " I turned around and walked out of the house just then another massage came in again from my phone.
"Seriously? " I asked looking down at the person who was annoying me.
Brat: where the hell r u?
I read it and replied to the phone, "At home! Now leave me alone! " I said to the phone and slipped it back in my back pocket.
It was cold, but not really cold. Just a beautiful type of weather to take the big... yellow...bus. I have transportation issues, if that's even a thing, and no, I'm not trying to say I would die if I got on one, I just don't like the big crowd inside it. Everyone just standing and sitting in silence listening to nothing but the bus driver switching gears and then looking at eachother faces for the whole ride until all of us have gotten down. Yup, it's so fun you wouldn't want to miss it.
I came out the front yard and crossed the road going down to the bus stop. I decided to plug in my head phones and listen to some good music so I wouldn't look like a bored idiot. Is it me or sometimes when I take little walks like these in a beautiful weather, I tend to pretend that I'm in a music video? No? Okay, it's cool anyway.
I was shocked when water splashed up on me making me jump in surprise. I took off the ear phones and shook them making sure that it wasn't going to get spoilt, since my mom always accuses me of being careless.
"Awe, did little Page wet herself? " I turned around and saw the purple lamborigin along the side walk. Worse, I saw the devil herself, Mandy. She prounounded little as 'litol' like I was some baby.
"Do you seriously know how much these cost? " I asked hardening my gaze on her and lifted up my ear phones.
She huffed and looked at me, "Ah that piece of junk, lemme guess, like two bucks? " she replied and laughed at her own joke.
I rolled my eyes and kept walking not noticing that she was following right behind me with her car. "What do you want Mandy?"
"What do you mean, what do I want? " she replied innocently.
"You're following me, why? " I said turning around facing her fully.
"No I'm not. "
"Yes you are. "
"Please Page," she rolled her eyes, "stop feeling all celebrity, I'm driving and this is a road. "
"Yeah, exactly. A clear road without traffic so you can drive now. "
"Ew, you just spit on me," she scrunched up her nose and started dusting her left cheek making me smile. I swear I must've smiled so wide because she turned around and looked at me confused, "What the hell are you smiling at? It's creepy! "
I gathered up all the saliva in my mouth and brought them all to my inner lips inside my mouth.
"What the heck are you doing weirdo? " she said moving her head back.
With my saliva still inside my mouth, I accidentally spoke, "What!" I said making all the saliva I had left fly onto her clothes.
Call me disgusting, she deserves it.
"OMG do you freaking know how much this shirt cost? " she yelled throwing her hands around drastically and crying dramatically.
I smiled and folded my arms acting like I was thinking, "Oh that piece of junk, lemme guess, Two bucks? "
Boom Baby!
I burst into laughter and turned around walking away. Man if only I had a mic, I'd definitely not only drop it, but I'd hit her extensions so hard even Google won't find it. I should definitely run because I know Mandy would definitely get me back. I rushed to the bus stop ready to get inside when a hand covered over my mouth and dragged me away.
Um... Did I just get kidnapped?
It's more of a filler chapter. I'm back at it again. So yeah, make sure to let me know in the comments section below on about three things; one, about who the hell you think kidnnapped her? Two, about her and Mandy's friendly conversation? And three, what was your favorite part?
