''X equals six, right?''
Montgomery de la Cruz looks up from his studies after a moment of silence.
He caught her lost in a daze towards the opening part of their corner where people would usually appear.
More importantly, where Jeff Atkins would appear, given he wasn't attending Study Hall that Tuesday morning.
But from the looks of it, Devin wasn't going to see him no time soon. Yet, she had hope.
Too much for her own good.
Montgomery leans over to as much of his ability and waves a hand in front of her face. ''Earth to Dev, anybody home?''
Her gaze shifts over to him, her features never changing. ''Yeah, sorry.''
Swiping her tongue across her bottom lip, she sucks it in between her teeth and nods her head. ''Yeah. Yeah, x is six.''
He let's a sigh fall from his lips. ''Admit it already.''
She looks back at him and furrows her brows. ''Admit what?''
''That you like him!'' He exclaims, causing her to roll her eyes and lean back into her seat. ''The sooner you admit it, the sooner you can take action.''
''I'm not talking about this again,'' She prompts while foldong her arms across her chest.
He licks his lips, his eyes scanning over her features. ''Arlight. If you don't like Atkins, than you wouldn't mind giving me a kiss.''
Her eyes went wide. ''What?''
He shrugs his shoulders. ''What? I thought you didn't like Atkins?''
''Just because I don't like Jeff, doesn't mean that I like you.''
''And what can a kiss be worth?'' He counters. ''It's not like it's gonna mean anything towards the both of us.''
She gnaws on her bottom lip. ''I don't know, Montgomery.''
''Come,'' He guides towards the available seat next to him.
She didn't want to prove his point and give him the advantage of being right, so she pushes herself out of her seat and walk around the table until she's seated next to him.
She cocks a brow and holds up a finger. ''One kiss?''
He smirks. ''One kiss.''
Devin Greene leans over, her eyelids lowering further the closer she got.
She stops when their lips stood only meters apart from one another. Would this bite her in the ass?
''What happened?'' A smirk grows on his lips. ''Second thoughts?''
He was surprised when she whispers a small, ''No,'' before colliding her lips with his.
The kiss was slow and intense. Neither had expected the fiery feeling that ignited in both of them, but it did.
And when Devin Greene lightly sunk her teeth on his bottom lip before letting go, they looked at each other with pupils full blown with lust.
His honey brown eyes travelled down from her dull brown ones back towards her lips, and so did she.
Something within them snapped.
Their lips were back on one another, hungry for more. Teeth were clashing, tongues were delving into personal space and hands were urging to travel one another.
Devin pulls away from the kiss to remove herself from her seat, not feeling as close as enough as she wants.
She throws a leg over his side and sits herself on his lap and let's her hands wander from his biceps towards up his neck, and around to where his hair ends.
Even through the fabric of her jeans, her skin tingled when his hands roamed from her thighs to around where her butt was.
She muffled a sigh of pleasure when he gave her bottom a right squeeze into rushed kiss.
The way her adrenalin pumped in her veins had obliterated any thoughts and maybe even numbed emotions that was for Jeff Atkins as of that moment.
Devin Greene and Montgomery de la Cruz pulled apart from one another for a take of air.
''Damn, short cakes,'' He breathes out. ''I didn't know you had it in you.''
Panting softly, she breathes out a chuckle. Which was ironic because, neither did she.

''Watch out, Jensen,'' She mentions to the boy that stood with her in the back of their team.
The lunch hour had flown by with no knowledge nor interaction of Jeff Atkins and his clingy girlfriend, Amanda Kenderson.
Though, Devin sat with Montgomery with an unbearable feeling down South. And as a virgin, she needed some serious release.
But, thankfully, her thoughts were drifted more pure when Gym had arrived, she was paired up in a team with Clay Jensen being one of her teammates.
So the two stood in the back, where the ball rarely goes because it's always being hogged by those surrounding the front of the net.
Instead of trying to hit the ball, Clay Jensen moves to the side, allowing the ball to hit the ground.
''Come on, Jensen!'' Coach Patrick scolds.
''I don't want to be here,'' He groans. ''Any other sport we could have played and it had to be volleyball?''
Devin returned by his side with the ball in her hand. She tossed the ball in the air and let's her hand smack against it just when it comes back down, the ball flying across the net.
''That's what I like to see, Greene!''
She turns to Clay and shrugs her shoulders.
''Don't-'' He shrugs his shoulders as she did but more sloppy. ''You haven't said nothing this whole time. Not even when Emily Alverez ran a lap, and that's your favorite part of the show.''
Although Clay finds it mean, he can't help but laugh along with Devin when witnessing Emily Alverez run laps with the rest of the class.
Given that she has a big bra size and wears glasses that don't fit her face properly, whenever she runs, she has to try and hold onto both her boobs and her glasses.
But today was a specific day where Devin Greene was in no mood for her bubbly personality.
''I haven't seen Jeff all day,'' She tells him. ''I haven't even seen Amanda.''
She then sighs. ''I just hope I see him at practice today. Or if not him, Amanda so I can ask where he's been.''
Clay remains silent, his eyes focused on the direction the ball kept being thrown towards.
She furrows her brows at him. ''Clay, did you hear what I said?''
He nods his head, his eyes never aiming for her.
She tilts her head to the side. ''Clay?''
''Yeah?''
She cocks a brow at him. ''You know something.''
His neck snaps when looking at her, his brows arched and blue eyes becoming more clearer the wider they got. ''No, I don't.''
''Clay, where the hell was Jeff?''
He goes back to watching the ball and says, ''I'm not suppose to say.''
''Clay Jensen, I will tear the tires on your bike,'' She threatens him.
He turns to her, flabbergasted. ''What did my bike ever do to you?''
She let's out another warning and tempted, ''Clay.''
He turns back to the game before looking at Devin Greene. ''You didn't hear it from me, but he skipped with Amanda.''
Anger rose as she asked, ''Why?''
''Jensen!'' Coach Patrick calls.
''Oh my god,'' He cried out when the ball came his way. Only this time, he hit the ball back.
And to where he hit the ball towards, it definitely bounced back. Off of Devin's face.
''Clay!''
''I swear, I hate this class.''

''Oh my god,'' The girls of the cheer team gasped when Devin Greene approached with a black and blue bruise portraited at the bridge of her nose, the colors dragging out to the corners of her eyes.
''What happened to you?'' Sheri asks, scanning over the details up close.
As she goes to drop her bag over where the rest of the girl's bags were, in the bleachers, she briefly informs them, ''Gym class.''
Her gaze locked on the appearance of Montgomery of de la Cruz.
He waves at her with a smirk.
She didn't know whether to regret her actions earlier that day in the library, or take this as some sort of lever for a friends with beneficial status.
But, instead, she throws a small smirk back his way and returns to the group.
''Okay, ladies,'' Sheri claps her hands together. ''You know the routine. Let's get to stretching.''
Devin's gaze had met Amanda Kenderson's, who was already eyeing since she came.
Devin looks away towards the baseball time, finding the signature number twelve printed on the back I his shirt.
And surely enough, there he was, joking around with the guys.
As Devin takes a seat on the ground, her eyes still trained on Jeffery Atkins from afar, Montgomery had exclaims, ''That bruise looks sexy on you!''
She ignores those that instigated the situation by cooing, ''Ooh.''
''Devs,'' Chelsea calls out with a smirk. ''I didn't know you and Mr. Baddie over there had a thing.''
She pats Amanda's arm and giggles. ''First, Jeff and now him? Girl, you're on a roll.''
''Nothing happened between Jeff and I,'' Devin reminds them while her head was down and her body leaned forward, reaching for a good grip on her right foot.
''You're not denying Montgomery, though,'' Amanda had perked up with a cock brow and a sly smirk playing her lips.
When Devin Greene stayed silent, the girls looked at one another, astonished.
''Girl, spill,'' Sheri grinned.
The team had nodded their heads eagerly with giggles erupting all around.
''It's nothing, really,'' She shrugged off. But she knew there was no point in convincing them anytime soon.
''Uh huh,'' Amanda hinted. ''If it's really nothing, then what are you doing?''
And that's when an idea formed. A sick and twisted one, but it was still an idea.
''Jeff had made a bet with me that if which he had won to, I had to go out with the next person that walked up to me, and..'' Her words trailed off when she shrugged her shoulders. ''It was him.''
''Ooh,'' Chelsea drawls. ''The girl playing the player, I love a good twist.''
Looking back at Montgomery de la Cruz who sat from ear shot lengths at the bleachers, she watched that same seductive smirk playing at his lips.
And she only had one thing on her mind.
To hope that under any circumstances, nothing could bite her in the ass.
