"Unbelievable" Alina laughed ironacly

"Why are you taking his side suddendly?"Zoey asked confused

"Why wouldn't I?"

"You hate him Alina"

"What if I don't?" Alina said in a louder tune getting up frustrated and leaving the cafe. Full of anger she rapidity walked to campus and so on to her dorm

At least Jude won't make questions about him Alina thought to herself. Jude was her roommate, she was a very lovable girl with ginger hair and she dressed like she was a hippie of 70's, she was full of love and peace and Alina liked her a lot thanks to her she learned a lot about hippies and 70's. Jude was found of Alina too, though she seemed tired and sad, Alina always had the time to hear about what Jude fanaticism over hippies.

Alina needed to get to the dorm grab a coat and a few bags and take the next bus, and arrive in time to dinner with her family and the Perk's

Tired and relieved of reaching her dorm, she opened the door and greeted Jude "Hey Jude" but when she looked inside there was Jude and two other people

"Are you Alina Jones?" One of them asked

"I am yes..."

"We need you to come with us" he said showing his batch

"What happened ?"

"I'm afraid it's about one relative of yours"

"One relative?"

"The orders that were given to us was to escort to the Police Station so you can talk with our commander"

Alina heart raced dozen of thoughts running through her head. What happened? Who is she seeing? And why her? It can't be her parents or her brothers they are having a family dinner tonight with the Perk's which means it can be them either their wise she would know by now if something happened to one of them by someone else.

"Can you accompany us?" The officer asked and she nodded grabbing a coat and leaving the place quickly. They escorted her to the car she sat at the back and quickly called Aaron

"Brother?"

"Give it to her please, mom" she heard front the other side of the line

"Hey.." he answered

"Please don't make any questions I just need you to back me up"

"More than I already am?" He said stepping away from his mother and Anna

"A problem appeared I have low battery I need you to just say I'm fine, I'm studying whatever I will call you back when I can"

"Alina" he whispered"Everyone is starting to get doubtful. Mom questioned if you really know about Colten. Aunt Anna has been eating, if I hadn't get sooner to the kitchen she would pass out. It's getting hard over here"

"I know and I'm sorry to put you in this position. I'm not coming to the family dinner so please cover it up for me"

"Where are you going?"

"I can't tell you. I don't want to worry you. I'm fine ... and Aaron, whatever it happens DON'T TELL THEM"

I can't tell cause even I don't know what's going on Alina thought

"Where are you going dude? You're scaring me"

"I'll call you when I can" she ended the call and look at the battery of her phone

That's not good she thought, she searched for a charger in the only bag she had with her, with was a small purse with her wallet, a small box with medicines and some pads for emergencies and her dorm key's.

Going to the police station with a10% battery phone is not a great plan...but what could she do now.

Her head drove to the problem she was in now, she was supposed to appear at dinner but now she was heading to the Police Station in a Police car, nothing was going as planned...if there was even a plan... She thought about who could it be the ones who could possibly call her if something happened were all safe and sound 2 hours away from her in her parent's house, so then her head wandered and her shook.

The only one who could possibly be... she had him in her mind and she begged to not be him. She wanted to see him but not like this, not this way.

"Miss..." An officer said, Alina let go her thoughts "We are here. Follow me" the man said he was holding the door of the car and she stepped out, with her heart in her heads she followed him

The Police Officer lead her through the Satiton to a small room entitled by 'The Commander's Cabinet' there it was the supposed Commander sitting waiting for Alina so she presumed and with him a man.

"You can enter"  The Commander told her.She stepped in the room and calmly took a sit besides the man

"I'm Paul, the Command Officer I called you both here today because of a man, your relative I presume" he said taking some papers into his hand "Harold Johnson"

Alina eyes suddenly widden, "What happened? Is everything alright? We know him!"

The moment the voice reached her ears and she got the information she trembled. Sadly in these moments the worst appears to our minds.

"It is not easy to say this and to be the first person to tell you but due Mr.Johnson liver cancer " Paul said but he was interrupted by Colten leaving abruptly the room

Alina stood there taking all the information she looked at the Officer and he gave her some papers and three envelopes joined with keys, the house keys. Her heart shivered and the tears in her eyes escaped "What is this?" She asked with a teary voice

"That's all the information you'll need to take care of the rest. I know it's a lot to take care you just received the news but in these things unfortunately justice doesn't gives a lot of time. Mr. Johnson had a lot of things and now they need a owner all of them are distributed by his will." Paul said pointing at the papers "But you'll need to confirm them as yours to the court. It's all in the papers"

"yeah ok...thanks" Alina said looking at the papers trying to read them but she had a foggy vision due to her tears "Hum-" she looked at the man and asked "How?-"

"One of his nephew was suppose to take some sunflowers to the fabric when he found him laying on the middle of the sunflower field. He was on top of a towel they presumed he was taking a break "

"Yeah he liked to look at the sky in the middle of the field" she informed

"The doctors say it was a peaceful death. He was probably sleeping... he didn't felt a thing"

"That's good" she said cleaning her face

"His nephews went to the morgue to confirm his body I guess they will be also in care of the funeral, here is the number of one of them if you need anything" Paul said giving a post it to Alina with some number on it. She thanked him with a small smile and left the room, washed away by all of those informations.

Thoughts of Harold infiltrated in her mind, how happy he would be whenever she would talk about decorating the house, how grumpy he was when she hugged him, and how much adoration he would talk about Colten. Thinking of it made her loose her breath, she was suffocating, in a quick step she walked outside and once out she took a long and heavy breath in making her heart ache, but once she breath it out her heart still ached.

She heard at a distance, some noised of what it seemed like metal on the ground, continuously falling or being spanked into the ground she walked over to the noise and at the corner of the Police station there he was kicking the trash can as if it was the metal can's fault.

She realized that she had never heard from Harold about his cancer nor did she ever suspected since he had more than time and he seemed perfectly fine. He never went to any medical appointments or chemos... wouldn't that be the normal? What did she missed? Why didn't he told her? So many questions running through her mind but she had no time to wander she had to rational at least one of them had to.

She left Colten in the same place and hurried inside the Police Station to find a phone, she placed the coins and quickly looked for her brother number on her almost dying phone, she dialed the number on the old phone and waited for him to pick up

"Who's this?" She heard, somehow his voice relieved her

"It's me" she simply said

"sis! I mean...miss, wait a moment so I can discuss this matter on a better place ma'am " she heard some noises and voices questioning who it was "hey I'm her!You can't do that! I wasn't ready I was at the table with everyone"

"I'm sorry"

"What happened"

"Something...but I'm fine, no worries I'll call again when I can probably tomorrow "

"You better! "

"Yeah I will bye"

"Bye sis"

She put the phone on it's place and walked outside again to find Colten laying on the wall his head up looking at the stars and smoke coming out of his mouth joined with nicotine smell.

"He smokes now?" Alina muttered to herself

"you're there" He commented not even taking a glance at her "I'm going away I need to water the garden I'm sure no one did that"

"I'm going with you"

"You're not"

"I am, because one you can only get in with this" she said shaking the keys on her hand "and two you will not drive like that"

"I am fine" he said with his trembling voice though he was in the dark and with a cap on she could perfectly see the tears in his face shinning while falling to the ground

"Come on" she said while searching for his car. He gave her the car key and she drove them to the house, the ride wasn't long but quiet full of sniffing and silence

She got to the new path Harold had made so it would be easy to go there by car, she parked the car near the house behind Harold's truck, Colten quickly got out with no words said, Alina followed next not forgetting the papers and the keys.

She opened the door and got in the house, as weird as may sound Alina tried her best to remember some memories with Harold in that house but, due to the remodel actions the house was so different that it didn't looked like his house anymore. It was someone else's house wit a modern decoration and unfinished bedrooms and an unfinished kitchen. The only thing that was almost done was the living room who had two couches, a fire place, and a new tv which wasn't even connected .

ALina sat down on the couch and placed the papers on the little table in front of her. She looked carefully at those papers and noticed her name on one of the envelops followed by her address and phone numbeR

"This must have helped the police to contact me" she talked to herself, she noticed other envelope had Colten's name on it followed by his information and the last one only had two names

She raised her eyebrow in curiosity and she grabbed the envelope with her name on it and opened it. It was a handwritten letter.
