Chapter Six

CHAPTER SIX: MOONLIGHT

Most people use their minds to solve problems way less often than they use their minds to create problems.

The boys were allowed to go home for four days for what Felix called 'our pitiful fall break' before actual spring began and they'd be given time off for Easter of all things.

So naturally they all went straight to Jason's two story vacation house for the four days -it being just a half hour drive from Saint Agnes and abandoned except for when Jason or his older sister want to get away for a while.

Felix was already inside and Jason was watching some movie series he was rather obsessed with at the moment- -and it being just past midnight- -so naturally Tobias and Oliver were left alone in the water and moonlight.

"Ollie?" Tobias says, half-sitting up from where he's stretched out on the pool side of the Eaton property, feet still I'm the water.

Oliver glances at him from the deep end, "Yeah?"

"Can I kiss you?"

Surprised, Oliver freezes and it causes him to splash loudly before calmly saying "This feels like a trick." in response while he resumes swimming.

Tobias could tell he was overthinking again, because of the small crease in his brow. The delinquent sighs and throws a hand up, "How?"

"Uh... I don't know." Now the smaller boy can't even look at him. "Just does."

"How about a trade? Hmm? If I promise, and I'll even shake on it-" Unlike Felix, who only accepts pink promises, Jason, who head-bonks people and Tobias who simply takes someone's word for it, Oliver requires a handshake. "-that this isn't a trick, but you think I'm lying or I trick you in some way, I'll ley you prank me without payback for two days."

Thinking over it, Oliver nods but doesn't swim any closer.

"Ollie, c'mon, I want a kiss." Tobias presses on. "If you don't want one, then say it, either way stop just swimming in place like an idiot."

Little could Tobias tell in this lighting that Oliver was bright red, and appears quite nervous. Even if he could see it, he'd just think it was cute and he knowledge that he'd just tease his best friend makes the said flushed boy even redder.

Seeing the way he moves to jump down into the water and literally shake Oliver out of his haze merely makes him gay panic more.

The shorter boy makes a noise halfway between a shout and a squeak and it stops Tobias in his tracks. He knows it well, as the delinquent causes him to squeak like that whenever he chases the other around the dorm or torments him in gym. It was his panic 'I'm fucked' squeak.

And honestly, he didn't expect him to make it then.

Gently, not knowing why but also knowing absolutely that consent is a must, Tobias stay in place and says, "Do you want me to stay up here? If asking broke a limit, I don't-"

"Shut up, Toby." Oliver snaps. "Just give me a moment."

"A moment to...?" Tobias trails off, raising a dirty blond eyebrow.

He just gets a hissed "Shut up." in reply again.

It's then he pieces it together and his concern trades out for growing amusement. "Oh wait, Ollie, you're not offended or scared, you're flustered. Seriously? I haven't even kissed you yet."

The yet part just made Oliver make the noise again and immediately turn to go to the shallow end and quite literally run from the situation, but Tobias wasn't about to let that happen. Quickly splashing down into the shoulder high water, he pushes off the wall and catches at the other's ankle, pulling him back through the water.

Squealing, Oliver squirms against Tobias's hands, the two boys struggle for a few moments more until they're against a wall and breathing heavily.

Now trapped chest to chest with his best friend, back firmly pressing against the pool edge and hands pinned down to his side, Oliver can't help but to scowl. "Let me go!" He attempts to kick out at Tobias, but the taller boy just slips a tight between both of his. Dangerous territory. "Toby, I swear to god."

"Shh, don't involve the big guy." Comes his all to playful response, loving how red the small boy actually looks up close. "I doubt he approves."

Oliver glowers.

Tobias grins.

"Question for you." The delinquent says, the hold on his wrists loosening. "Can I kiss you now, or do you want me to have to chase you down again later?"

Bold, Oliver decides. He's way too bold. Especially for someone who's always been all bark and no bite when it comes to doing things with me.

Not really knowing how to handle just how flustered he felt at the moment- -at least not without being able to swat his best friend away or run to Jason to hide his blush- -he just finds himself sheepishly nodding.

He's only kissed two people before, and one was a girl that's the biggest reason he was lead to his gay self discovery, and the second is his only and first boyfriend who he didn't like as much physically as he did mentally. It felt weird -almost wrong to kiss him. Even Jason couldn't explain that.

So of course Oliver's going to be uncertain and nervous about this. Not to mention Tobias is his best friend and traditionally you don't kiss your best friend.

In theory, Oliver should love kissing him but what if it's awkward, like having to kiss Jason would be.

"You don't have to look so scared." Though his tone is sardonic, Tobias is still obviously trying to ease his worries and for the most part, it works. "If I do anything you don't like, you can just tell me."

Oliver nods.

With that, he leans in and then the delinquent is kissing him, and he's kissing back. Kissing shortly and sweetly, Oliver pulls away with a light giggle before moving back in, this time looping his arms around the other's neck, pressing more into him.

Tobias moves so their bodies slide together, mouth parting gently against Oliver's as he moves slowly, taking his time.

The next night, after Felix had gone to his room early because of a migraine that had been building ever since he woke up and Jason was in his room, staying as quiet as possible because though he wasn't very tired, he still worried himself sick over the possibility of his best friend having to go to the hospital because of his condition.

It's happened before, and his other two best friends share the sentiment, they both work their stress out by being distracted, being in control somehow.

So they went down to the basement, close both doors so they couldn't be heard and proceeded to play a dart game- -which Oliver won- -before quickly switching over to ping pong. Something that Tobias was so much better at than the shorter boy that it was laughable.

Oliver was in shorts and a tee-shirt and felt way too hot from moving more than he had in a good year or two, all to face off against Tobias, who didn't complain about being hot and wasn't even all that sweaty even though he took his shirt off.

It just wasn't fair.

They were throwing insults back and forth until Oliver made a sly pass after Tobias said something about him throwing in the towel, and he said "Make me." which was very dangerous words to the delinquent.

Suddenly, he's being lifted up onto the ping pong table, hands on his hips, thumbs pressing into the sensitive strip of skin where his thigh and hip meet over his shorts. Knees and inner thighs slide against the bare skin on Tobias's sides, and their chests brush together with every breath.

And suddenly, the delinquent was kissing him, hard.

Oliver didn't mind one bit.

Hand in his hair, the smell of basement dust, sweat and Tobias's cologne invading his senses, Oliver realizes that he's very pleasantly overwhelmed. He presses into Tobias more, wanting to test his own limits just as much as he wanted to please the delinquent, ankles locking around his back and firmly connecting their bodies.

This was nothing like their kiss in the pool, it was all heat and passion, no shyness, no testing boundaries. Just them doing something they've wanted to do for a while now.

They were kissing, Oliver was kissing Tobias.

And it feels really good.

But then Tobias gasps against his mouth, hand sliding down from his hair to clutch onto his waist, face buried into Oliver's shoulder. They both take large breaths, holding tight onto one another.

Oliver as flushed and burning, flustered as he could be, hands shaking and feeling like he's buzzing all while his breath quivers every time it passes his lips -Tobias, this untouchable strong delinquent, seems to be affected the most.

Because there he stands, clutching onto his best friend, heart pounding in his chest- -Oliver can feel it where his throat was pressed into his collarbone- -light skin flushed a pretty red, absolutely ruined and melted from a kiss.

A kiss.

You'd think from your reaction that they just fucked or something, and for some reason, that is ceaselessly hilarious to Oliver Jordan.

"Oh my god," He laughs out. "Can you even breathe right, Toby?"

Giving him perhaps the biggest feeling of deja vu as Tobias groans and grumbles out a soft, "Shut up, Ollie."

Letting him rest against him for a moment, Oliver only slightly enjoys just how easy his best friend is to mess with at the moment. Even when in love, you have to take moments to be the move lovable jackass that you can be.

Oliver acknowledged that.

"You're such a fucking jerk." Tobias scolds him, pulling away to meet his brown eyes to Oliver's blue ones. "And I hate you?"

The smaller boy scoffs, body relaxing back down to where his legs rest gently on the sides of the other boy's thighs. "You hate me? I don't believe it, that is such bullshit." And then, he rolls his eyes.

Realizing his mistake as soon as the delinquent raises an eyebrow at him, Oliver instantly gulps and feels as though its a moment he should be taking a step back.

"Don't get all bratty with me just because you finally understand how much you affect me. That's not how this works."

Oliver responds with a sly smile. "I disagree."

"Of course you do." Grumbling this, Tobias moves his hands from Oliver's body to the table and leans in. "Ollie."

Narrowed eyed and hesitant, Oliver responds. "Toby."

"Do you like kissing me?" Now it's Oliver's turn to go red and grow flustered in place of his rather smug amusement, all to the growing smugness of Tobias's own. "I can tell you do. Firstly, you clutch onto me, second even when you need to breath you just gasp against me, and third-"

"Third," The smaller boy mocks him with a feigned chin-up of confidence. "I'm Tobias Prince and I'm good at everything. Even when I act like I lost all my bones by kissing the boy I've asked to bang before. Aren't I perfect?"

"Better than me, Oliver Jordan," Tobias returns the same energy playfully. "Who fakes confidence when I'm bright red, is still breathless and probably a hair away from a boner."

"Ugh!" Oliver sputters, leg moving out just to kick the side of his best friend's leg with his heel. "You're absolutely unbearable, I'm not giving you another kiss for the rest of the night. So shut up."

"You're absolutely unbearable," Said delinquent mocks right back, copying the light tinge of his Filipino accent and everything. It was annoying.

Huffing and silent for a few tense seconds as the two defiantly stare at one another, Oliver is the one to break it by dropping his hold on one of Tobias's  wrists to hold it out politely. "Truce?"

The grin that Tobias gives him tells the other boy that a real truce is the farthest thing from his mischievous mind.

"Truce."
