"The Odds Aren't in Our Favor"
Previously on Survivor...
On the Tierra tribe, Sherman, Nadine, Lorraine, and Shirley were celebrating winning the power struggle against the men. At Agua, Patty sensed that she was being voted out and started to cause chaos. After two straight losses, Agua headed to Tribal Council, where Patty was voted out in an unanimous verbal vote.
13 are left. Who will be voted out tonight?
Night 9
Agua - Post-Tribal
(The Agua tribe returns to camp and sets their torches down)
Gil: Well, that was easy.
Jasmine: It sure was.
Ahmed (CON): At tribal, my ally, Patty was ousted. And I was okay with that. But if we lose this next Immunity Challenge, then I may be gone soon.
(Ahmed and Fiona talk to each other privately)
Fiona: What are we gonna do?
Ahmed: Try to get some numbers.
Fiona (CON): I'm in a precarious position right now. I could be going home and that's not good for my game!
Day 10
Jeff: Come on in, guys!
(The Tierra tribe and the Agua tribe arrive on their mats. Tierra looks around to see who was voted out)
Jeff: Tierra, getting your first look at the new Agua tribe. Patty voted out at the last Tribal Council.
Nadine: Okay, then.
Jeff: We're ten days into this game. Tribe majorities have formed and everyone is getting comfortable. It's time to shake things up. We are switching from two tribes to three!
(The castaways look surprised)
Jeff: The third tribe, called Fuego, will be wearing red, but they will not have to start from scratch. They will receive a new camp. Drop your buffs and pick new ones.
(Jeff goes around with the tray and everyone picks their buff)
Shirley: Please, God...
(Jeff returns to his place in front of the castaways)
Jeff: Okay, on the count of three, unwrap your buff. One... two... three... reveal!
(The camera pans to Jake, who is relieved that him and Gil are both blue)
Jake (CON): It looks like Gil and I are staying here, but Finn has to go to a new tribe. That's all right!
Jeff: On the new Fuego tribe, Tierra has the majority, with Luke, Nadine, and George. Ahmed and Finn are in the minority.
Luke (CON): The tribe swap for me worked out awesomely! I can take control of this tribe easily.
Jeff: Tierra has two original Tierra, with Hal and Lorraine. Fiona and Jasmine join this new tribe.
Jasmine (CON): This is the perfect opportunity for me to get Fiona out. She needs to leave because she was in the minority before.
Jeff: And finally, Agua has two original members: Jake and Gil, with Shirley and Sherman joining this new tribe.
(The tribes move over to their mats)
Jeff: Finn, how do you feel about this arrangement?
Finn: I'm sure me and Ahmed will work something out, even if the odds aren't in our favor.
Jeff: Always have hope. Now let us get to our next reward challenge. For today's challenge, you will begin by carrying bags of coconuts and sandbags through an obstacle course. Then, one by one, each member will carry a bag of coconuts across a balance beam. If, at any point, you fall off you must go back to the start. Once all members are across the beam, one member of the tribe will use the sandbags to knock a block puzzle off a table, after which two other tribe members will rebuild the puzzle. The first two tribes to complete the puzzle will win reward. Wanna know what you're playing for?
Castaways: Yes!
Jeff: The winning tribes will be receiving sweet feasts of cakes, pastries, scones, tea and coffee! Worth playing for?
Castaways: Yeah!
Jeff: I'll give you a minute to strategize and then we'll get started.
(The castaways are awaiting Jeff's signal)
Jeff: For reward, survivors ready... go!
Highlights:
1. Fuego is able to get through the obstacle course rather easily, with Agua not close behind, and Tierra dead last.
2. On Fuego, Luke, Ahmed, and Finn get through the balance beam on their first try. Agua overtakes Fuego when all of their members get through quickly. Tierra is struggling to make it through the balance beam.
3. Agua decides Gil should throw for them and he manages to do this rather quickly. George throws for Fuego, but he takes a little longer. Once Tierra finally gets to this portion, Agua is finished and has Shirley and Sherman work on the puzzle.
4. Shirley and Sherman make some progress on this puzzle, but they are taking their time. Fuego has Finn and Nadine rebuild the pieces. Fiona throws for Tierra as they are almost done, but Fiona is struggling with her technique.
5. Agua is halfway done with the puzzle, while Fuego is a quarter done. Tierra has just started at this point with Hal and Lorraine.
6. Sherman and Shirley manage to finish the puzzle briskly, winning them reward. A close race between Fuego and Tierra has Fuego emerge victorious.
Jeff: Agua and Fuego win reward!
(Agua and Fuego cheer, while Fiona bursts out in rage. The rest of Tierra is frowning)
Jeff: Agua, Fuego, that was a strong win to kick off the new tribes. Your rewards will be waiting for you back at camp. Congratulations. Tierra, unfortunately, I have nothing for you. Grab your stuff, head back to camp. I'll see you soon.
Day 10
Tierra - Post-Reward
(Hal, Lorraine, Fiona, and Jasmine walk back to camp)
Lorraine: So this is Tierra, guys.
Fiona: It's a good thing this camp is better than Agua's.
Jasmine: Yeah, I noticed.
Hal (CON): On this new Tierra tribe, it's two against two. Which means there's a tie if we actually go to Tribal. That's not good. So I decide to talk with Fiona and Jasmine one on one.
(Hal and Fiona walk on the beach)
Fiona: Hey. You know Jasmine?
Hal: Yeah. What about her?
Fiona: She can't be trusted. We need to get rid of her soon.
Hal: Okay...
Fiona: She was, like, the mastermind of Agua. She's only here because she escaped being a target.
Fiona (CON): I want to vote out Jasmine soon. So if I can get Hal and Lorraine to vote against her, then that would be splendid!
(Hal approaches Jasmine)
Hal: Fiona told me earlier that she doesn't like you.
Jasmine: I know she doesn't. Neither does Ahmed.
Hal: She's probably just jealous.
(Lorraine sleeps in the shelter)
Lorraine (CON): I really want to stay strong with Hal. But who do we go for? So much drama going on between these two girls and I just want to stay away from it all!
Day 10
Fuego - Post-Reward
(Luke, Nadine, George, Ahmed, and Finn arrive at their new camp)
Luke: Let's get set up.
Finn: Wow, this is nice!
Finn (CON): On this new beach, we have all the materials provided to build the camp. That's awesome!
(The tribe all works on various tasks. Once the camp is all set up, Luke, Nadine, and George relax in the shelter, while enjoying their reward)
George: We're good.
Luke: Yeah. Let's not turn on each other.
(Nadine nods confidently)
Nadine (CON): Tierra has the majority on this new tribe. We better keep it that way, because I'm not going home anytime soon!
Luke: We should be able to win these challenges. This is a really strong group.
George: Yep.
(The camera focuses on Finn and Ahmed, who are relaxing in the ocean)
Ahmed: We are so screwed.
Finn: I know. You think we can convince two of them to get out one of their own?
Ahmed: Maybe. We can only hope.
Ahmed (CON): I got swap-screwed! But this is what this game is, how you adapt to certain situations. And I'm going to try to work my way out of this situation if we lose immunity.
Day 10
Agua - Post-Reward
(The Agua tribe comes to their camp)
Gil: This is our camp, guys!
Sherman: Looks nice.
Shirley (CON): Unfortunately, I'm switched over to Agua, where there's no fishing gear! Ugh, what an absolute outrage.
Jake: We don't have much, but we'll catch some fish using this fishing rod.
(Jake picks up Jasmine's fishing rod)
Gil: Who made that?
Jake: No idea.
Shirley: Oh, thank God.
Sherman: Let's dig into this reward!
(Agua eats their dessert, while having a conversation)
Gil: My wife is also a fisherwoman, and she's pregnant! We're expecting.
Shirley: Wow, that's awesome.
Gil: And my teenage son is hopefully going into this industry too.
Jake: Yeah, that's pretty cool.
Shirley (CON): We're just having a tribe conversation, and I'm pretending to be interested. I need to gain trust with Jake and Gil so I don't go home.
Day 11
Fuego
(The tribe relaxes in the shelter. However, George's mouth is covered in cake)
Nadine: What a pig.
Finn: I know, right?
(Finn, Ahmed, Nadine, and Luke observe George eating all of the reward)
Finn (CON): George is apparently a greedy person, so he decided to eat all of the reward! I know who I'm voting out next, let me tell you.
(The camera focuses on George dancing on the beach)
George: I'm sugar high right now and I don't care! Everyone's staring at me and I don't care!
(The camera switches back to the shelter)
Luke (CON): If George is acting selfish like this, then I don't know what to do with him. Something has gotten into his brain.
Day 11
Tierra
(Hal and Lorraine journey to the well)
Lorraine: I know we haven't been the best of friends, but we need to stick together.
Hal: Agreed.
Lorraine: Fiona's causing so much drama. I don't know where her head is at.
Hal: She hates Jasmine so much.
Lorraine: She was talking negatively about every single one of them.
Hal (CON): Fiona is a goat you can take to the end in this game, so I don't believe it's best for her to go yet. It's time for me to finally garner control in this tribe!
(Lorraine and Hal come back to the camp)
Lorraine: We're back with water!
Jasmine: Nice. Thanks, guys.
Lorraine: Yep.
(Fiona pulls Hal aside)
Fiona: So if we lose, it's Jasmine, right?
Hal: Yeah.
Fiona: Excellent. Marvelous. Yay!
Fiona (CON): I can't wait to get my revenge on her for not going home. It's really a shame that I went down with Patty for no reason.
Day 11
Agua
(Gil and Jake fish together, taking turns using Jasmine's fishing rod)
Gil: We've been at this for hours. No luck.
Shirley: Dang it! That really sucks.
Jake (CON): Gil and I are buddies. We do everything together at this point. I want to be at the final two with him.
Sherman: I know. Maybe you guys should stop, and come back later.
Jake: Wait! I got one!
(Jake pulls a huge fish out)
Shirley: Wow!
Gil: Oh, my God!
(Agua carries the fish to a firepit)
Sherman: I'll do the cooking!
Shirley: All thanks to Jake!
Gil: You did it!
(Agua enjoys the large salmon)
Sherman (CON): Jake seems to be a really cool and smart dude. That also makes him a threat in my eyes.
Day 12
Immunity Challenge
Jeff: Come on in, guys!
(The castaways line up on their mats)
Jeff: Are you guys ready for your first Immunity Challenge as three tribes?
Everyone: Yes!
Jeff: First thing's first, there are now two Immunity idols up for grabs.
(The challenge demo is shown at a wide-angle shot)
Jeff: For today's challenge, one tribe member will be the caller, while the rest will be blindfolded. Using only verbal commands, the caller will guide the tribe to collect a series of very large and very heavy puzzle pieces. Once the pieces have been collected, the blindfolded tribe members will remove their blindfolds and work to solve the puzzle. The first two tribes to finish will win immunity. Fuego, you have one extra member. Who is going to sit out?
Nadine: I'll sit.
Jeff: Nadine, take a spot on the bench. Everyone else, I'll give you a minute to strategize, and we'll get started.
Highlights:
1. Jake is the caller for Agua, George is the caller for Fuego, and Lorraine is the caller for Tierra. Shirley, Sherman, and Gil move at a quick pace, while Fiona does not listen to Lorraine's cues, causing Tierra to fall behind. Luke, Ahmed, and Finn move at a slower pace.
2. Agua retrieves their blocks first, and Shirley takes charge of the puzzle. Gil and Sherman barely do any of the work so far, but Shirley has managed to place quite a few pieces.
3. Lorraine keeps shouting, "Fiona, listen to me!", when Fiona intentionally refuses to follow her directions. Sherman eventually works together with Shirley and Gil to complete the puzzle. Agua is halfway done with the puzzle at this point.
4. Fuego finishes gathering the puzzle pieces, and Luke dominates the puzzle solving, making quick progress. Meanwhile, Agua has some trouble fitting the final few pieces in. Tierra is not even halfway done with the pathway section yet.
5. Agua is still struggling when Fuego gets the upper hand. Eventually, some time passes and Luke puts the final piece in.
Jeff: Fuego wins Immunity!
6. Fiona, Jasmine, and Hal are nearly finished with collecting the pieces. However, Sherman wins the challenge for Agua when he realizes a few pieces are out of order and finishes the puzzle.
Jeff: Agua also wins Immunity!
(Fuego and Agua rejoice in happiness, while the camera focuses in on a scowl on Lorraine's face)
Jeff: Fuego, Agua, you have just won tribal Immunity. Big win. You guys can head back to camp. The same cannot be said for you, Tierra. It is time for you four to decide who will be the fourth person voted out of this game. Grab your stuff, head back to camp, and I'll see you tonight at Tribal.
Lorraine (CON): The only person I blame for losing this challenge is Fiona. Intentionally throwing a group challenge does not sit right with me.
Day 12
Tierra
(The Tierra tribe returns to camp in a gloomy manner)
Jasmine: What were you thinking, Fiona?
Fiona: I actually want to go to Tribal.
Jasmine: Why?
Fiona: For obvious reasons.
Jasmine: They're not too obvious to me.
Jasmine (CON): I'm always in a fight with someone! It's so frustrating. Last vote out Patty was mad at me, and this time Fiona. This is so annoying.
(Hal and Lorraine sit on the beach as low-pitched serious music plays)
Lorraine: What do you want to do?
Hal: Fiona's not a threat. Let's face it.
Lorraine: She might pull something like this again!
Hal: If we vote out Jasmine tonight, we can get rid of Fiona next if we need to.
(Lorraine pauses)
Lorraine: That wouldn't make much of a difference, actually.
Hal: What do you mean?
Lorraine (CON): I don't give a care who goes home between Jasmine and Fiona. It really doesn't matter to me. But Fiona's so negative and infuriating to be around, which makes her an ideal goat. She cost us the challenge! Oh, my Lord. This is Day 12... what am I saying?
(Jasmine approaches Lorraine and Hal)
Jasmine: Are we all on the same page?
Hal: I think so.
Jasmine (CON): They might both be lying straight to my face, because I know I'm on the chopping block. I can't stand liars.
(The sun sets as the Tierra tribe, with their torches, make their way to Tribal Council)
Tribal Council:
(Tierra walks in)
(Tierra takes their seats)
Jeff: Welcome to your first Tribal Council as a new tribe. For Jasmine and Fiona, this is your third time coming here. Third!
Fiona: You don't have to make a big deal about it, Jeff. We know just as well as you do.
Jeff *taken aback*: Oh, well, okay. So you guys did not do well in the Immunity challenge at all. What happened?
Jasmine *quickly*: Fiona threw the challenge for us. And I have no idea why.
Fiona: Want me to tell you why?
Jasmine: Please. I would love to know.
Fiona: So that we could get you out. She was supposed to go home first, but she didn't. So she's going home now.
Jeff: That's a bold proclamation. But throwing the challenge for this tribe? Isn't that a little... selfish?
Fiona: Maybe that's how some people play the game. Selfishly.
Jeff: Fair point. But, Lorraine, is this tribe divided at all?
Lorraine: Yes... and no. The way I see it, Hal and I have the power tonight. We could go with the goat or go with the other player. It's up to us, because that's just the way it is. Those two already despise each other.
Hal: I second that.
Jeff: Okay. So, are we ready to vote?
Fiona: Yes.
Hal: Yeah.
Jeff: Okay. Jasmine, you're up.
(Montage of all of the Tierra players casting their votes. Fiona's is shown)
Fiona voted for Jasmine
Fiona: Bitch, get ready to go down.
Jeff: I'll go tally the votes.
(Jeff returns with the urn)
Jeff: Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes.
First vote:
FIONA
(Fiona wears a blank expression)
JASMINE
That's one vote Fiona, one vote Jasmine.
FIONA
Two votes Fiona.
(Lorraine looks over at Hal)
Fourth person voted out of Sims Survivor: Mexico:
FIONA
Jeff: You need to bring me your torch.
(Fiona grabs her torch, rolls her eyes, and brings it to Jeff)
Jeff: Fiona, the tribe has spoken.
(Jeff snuffs her torch, while Fiona gives Jeff a small smile)
Fiona: Thanks.
(Fiona leaves without saying goodbye to her tribe mates)
Jeff: Well, this Tribal proves that this game is all about decision making. Grab your torch, head back to camp, good night.
Final Words:
Fiona: Welp, my strategy didn't work out, but that's all right with me. I wish the swap could've gone better, but I think I only have myself to blame for the way I went out.
Votes:
Fiona (3): Hal, Lorraine, Jasmine
Jasmine (1): Fiona
