"MARGE! MARGE! GUESS WHAT?" Homer yelled and giggled like a school girl as he cane bursting in through the doors like a herd of elephants.

"What is it, Homer?" She asked as she put down the dishes she was busy washing to see what had gotten into her excited husband.

"LOOK WHAT I WON!" He squealed as he waved a handful of tickets.

"What are they? And where'd you get them?" She asked and the kids gathered to see what was up.

"In a raffle" He smirked and fanned himself with them. "Who says raffles are a waste of time?"

'You did, Homie" Marge smiled.

"Well that was before i was going to see football in NEW YORK!" he cheered. "Woo hoo!"

"That's great, dad!'

"Yeah, way to go, man!" Bart and Lisa cheered for him.

"When is the game?" Marge asked, setting down dinner for them all.

"It's on Saturday, i don't have to go to work! It's like all my life has been leading to this moment"

"Who are you bringing, dad?" Bart asked, hoping he'd be invited.

"Eh, just the guys. I'd still have a lot of tickets left over though"

"Can i come? Can i come? Oh please?" Bart pleaded.

Marge wasn't sure of this idea, but both Bart and Homer begged and she eventually gave in, as long as they both called and let her know everything. After dinner, Homer called up his friends to invite them. Moe, Lenny and Carl were pleased with this offer and didn't hesitate, but Barney couldn't come.

"Visiting family" Homer explained to Marge.

"Hmm, how about you invite Ned?" She suggested.

"Nah, i only turn to him when i need something" Homer sulked.

"Aww, come on, i bet the poor man would appreciate it, after all he does for us"

"Uuugh, fine. The things i do for others" He muttered"

He knocked on Ned's door, a bored expression glued to his face.

"Well howdily doodily, neighbourino, what can i do for you?" Ned answered with a pleasant smile.

"Yeah, i got tickets for this big game in New York and Marge told me to invite you, it's fine if you don't want to go, i won't waste a second more of your time" Homer said and walked off.

"Now wait a minute, I'd love to!"

"DOH!"

"Can i take the boys as well though?" He asked as the kids stood there, smiling eagerly.

"Whatever"

"Yay!" Rod and Todd cheered as Homer marched off.

"I knew there would be a catch" He muttered.

At school, Bart invited Milhouse, who invited Martin and then Nelson caught word of this and invited himself. At this point, there was no tickets left.

On Friday morning, they all got up early and drove off to the airport, except Nelson, who had to walk. Everyone hugged and said goodbye. All the kids said goodbye to their parents and waved.

"I'll miss you, Homer, be sure to call" Marge smiled and kissed him.

"Have i ever let you down before?"

"Hmm" She groaned and hugged him.

"Bye, dad, Bart, can't wait to see you again on Sunday!" Lisa waved.

They all said their good byes and then everyone else left and the boys checked into security and waited for their flight. No one had any time for breakfast as they all left so early, so they decided to sit down at the cafe in the airport and get something to eat. Everyone ordered something and took a seat. Homer sat with Moe, Lenny and Carl and talked about Barney and what he was missing. Nelson sat with Martin and tried to bully his breakfast, but Ned caught him and stopped this. Rod was stuffing his face, whilst Todd was telling Bart and Milhouse all about planes. Bart was bored but Milhouse was intrigued.

"And did you know that most people around the world have never set foot on a plane?" He stated, wide eyed. "Wanna know why airline food tastes so bad?"

"No, but I'll force feed you some if you don't quit it with the nerd talk" Bart yawned and Todd went silent.

Once they were done, their waiting was over and they all got on the plane and were off to New York! The flight wasn't exactly the most fun or comfortable, especially for the wimpier kids, but everyone made sure to bring something to keep themselves occupied. After some hours, the plane landed and everyone picked up their luggage and called for a cab.

"Well, here we are! The big apple!" Carl stated with a smile on his face.

"Mmm, big apples" Homer moaned as he visualized the colossal fruit.

"Come on! We'll miss the hotel!" Moe said and they all jumped into cabs.

The taxi drove around the city and Bart stared out the window and took in everything. Rod and Milhouse were having a thumb war and Todd was snuggling into Ned's side, nearly asleep.  Ned was just checking his phone.

"Apparently the hotel we're staying at has a large breakfast buffet, what are you hungry for, Todd?" Ned asked.

But Todd just yawned and cuddled in closer. "Sleep"

"Don't worry, Toddy, you can sleep as soon as we get to the hotel"

"I think he's already asleep, Ned" Homer answered, stating the obvious.

Ned just chuckled and smiled at the sight. The cabs soon stopped at the large hotel and the party got out, paid the drivers and checked into the hotel, in love with how classy it was. it was pretty late by the time they got there, breakfast was more like lunch or something. Everyone was too tired to do any sightseeing, and whoever did just had to  stay at the hotel cos it was easy to get lost in a big city like this. At night, the boys were bouncing on their beds with excitement for tomorrow and Homer had to give Bart a very stern warning about room service.

Night finally turned to day, the day they had all been eagerly anticipating and everyone was in a rush to get ready. they all had breakfast in the hotel, which was a glorious feed, before doing just a little sightseeing and shopping. Homer and Bart picked up some nice souvenirs for the girls back home and everyone was satisfied, and still excited for the game. The moment everyone had waited for finally came and they all crowded into the stadium, eager to watch the match, armed with snacks of all kinds, they took their seats and looked down on the peasants in the losers seats.

Everyone chattered eagerly and waved their foam hands about in support. It was amazing, and all thanks to Homer :)

They all yelled their loudest in support for their favourite players, took pictures and munched down snacks greedily as the match continued to entertain them.

Halftime finally came and the whole crew got up for a well deserved bathroom break, all except Homer, who left to purchase more snacks. After getting back to his seat, he could see that half time wasn't over. "Aww, this sucks!" He huffed as he didn't like waiting, but then he remembered how glad he was to be here and his mood changed. He then got the bright idea to call  Marge and check up on her.

"Hey, Marge, How you doing back in Springfield?' He exclaimed into the phone.

She could tell by the sound of his voice that he was having fun. "Hey, Homer! Oh, we're good! The girls and i are going out for dinner later! How's the game?"

"IT'S EVERYTHING I WANTED TO BE!!!" he squealed and she found his enthusiasm adorable.

"Awww, I'm so glad to hear!" She smiled. They talked a little more, before halftime was done and he had to go. The boys arrived back just as the game started again.

"Hey, Homer, what'd we miss?" Asked Lenny, taking a seat.

"Only a conversation with the greatest family ever!" Homer chuckled, high as a kite from the excitement.

The game resumed and everyones attention was focused on their team and no one wanted them to lose. It looked very much like it was going to be a draw, but right before the game ended....THEIR TEAM SCORED!

"YES!!!" they all cheered, screamed, danced, high-fived, crowd surfed, threw their hands in the air , scattering popcorn in the process, exchanged hugs and sang. What a day! They called for some more cabs, and looked for somewhere to eat as they fancied a change for dinner. They looked up a few restaurants, as New York had a LOT to choose from, but eventually settled on a lovely Italian-American one, which pleased everyone.

Everyone had a lot to talk about that night in the hotel, and the kids were too excited to sleep, but they had to as they had a flight to catch in the morning. Everyone was exhausted in the morning, but had to get up and pack quickly to go home, so there was a lot of queuing and shoving as they got out and made their way to the airport. It was time for Homer and the gang to see goodbye to the big city, but he couldn't wait to show his family his photos he took, and was glad to see them again. Bart was also glad to go home to see Marge, Maggie, and even Lisa, but he wasn't going to let her know that.
