"This still sucks." Draco couldn't help but growl as he and Granger sat down with the rest of the eighth years who were not able to play quidditch in order to give the younger years more of a chance to enjoy themselves and learn the way they should. The Eighth years had their own intrahouse games, but they counted for nothing, it was practically like doing drills. No actual competition or that house drive to best each other.
"Probably but it's the rules." Hermione glanced over at him. Though she did feel a little pity for him, not quite understanding his pain however, she really didn't care for quidditch that much. Outside of Harry and Ron, and the Gryffindor team time to time, when it wasn't the reason her two best friends were failing their classes.
"Rules, " Draco sneered. "Stupid, I don't even know why I'm here."
"House spirit." Hermione just sighed.
"They suck." Draco said dryly as he rolled his eyes when one of the Slytherin chasers nearly fell off the broom as he tossed the quaffle, the force too much for him.
"Malfoy!" Hermione gave him a look of disbelief.
"They do!" He gave her a look, back, annoyance written across his face. "They're pathetic, it's like watching a bunch of first years learning to fly, kinda like Weasley learning not to get hit by his own broom."
"Malfoy!" Hermione lashed out, hitting him with her current reading piece.
"Hey, violence!"
"Oh please,"
"I'm telling the truth, you were there too." Draco snorted.
Hermione closed her eyes.
"Granger, we might've called a truce but I can still think your boyfriend's a total plonker."
"Oh hush and watch the game." Hermione gave a sigh, not bothering to admonish him on insulting Ron. He did it just about every chance he got, but then again, so did Ron. She'd yet to have a conversation with Ron where he didn't call Draco every name under the sun.
"They suck," Draco just repeated. "I'm even ashamed to be a Slytherin."
"Well that's cause you can see the greatness that is Gryffindor... following the rules and kicking ass." Hermione smugly looked over at him, both brows slightly lifting in triumph. "Kick their Slytherin asses Ginny!"Hermione cheered as Ginny stole the quaffle for the umpteenth time and scored.
"Now look whose foul mouthing like a real fan." Draco said though it came out with a smirk, almost proud. But then as he glanced out on the field again, just to watch the Slytherin beater actually swing the bat so much so, he hit himself, Draco covered his eyes and groaned in utter embarrassment. It was really too bad that all of Slytherin's best players had been little death eaters in training that were now being sentenced to wizarding service, helping to repair the damage they and their family had inflicted. Though, the lot of them were cheaters so maybe they weren't that good but still this was just too embarrassing for him to watch.
"Yeah!" Draco fell over as Granger actually jumped up out of her seat and cheered loudly because well quite frankly, the Slytherins were getting their asses kicked, almost single handedly by Weaslette.
"Oh," Hermione looked behind her, realizing that she just knocked Draco out of his seat. "Sorry," She bit her lip, looking quite sheepish.
"Nothing happened. We're going to pretend that just did not happen." Draco waved off her worry.
Hermione bit her lip as she tried not to laugh. Always trying to preserve his masculinity. She just shook her head and looked back at the game, a smile on her lips despite herself.
The game was terrible at best. Yet as Draco took his seat back and glanced forward as his seat mate looked back at him, he didn't wish to be anywhere else.
!-!
Colby and Teddy grinned before yelling at the top of their lungs because even though the Falcon's had won, they had made the announcement of the players that would represent England.
Rather abashed as the camera panned his way, Oliver Wood smiled, his proud son on his shoulders cheering along with his father's fans. Oliver Wood would be the starting keeper in this year's cup. However Draco's face scrunched in distaste as the reserve keeper's name was announced. He halfheartedly clapped along with the roaring stadium. Feeling the tug on his pants, he looked down. "My Lyra," He grinned picking up his eldest. "You're my hero." She smiled, tossing a look over her shoulder at the giant screens. A smug grin on his lips, Draco kissed his daughter's temple.
Hearing their daughter soothe her husband's ego, Hermione shook her head. She smiled back though when he caught her eye.
Pulling his wife to him, Draco wrapped his other arm around her. "All of you are my world."
!-!
The Portkey dropped them all back into the Malfoy Manor's immaculate garden.
"Whoa!" The two terrors as their parents had even begun to regard them, cried as they went off balance with the teleportation of the portkey.
"Not on my amaryllis!" A yell was heard before a Leviosa spell was cast, catching Harry Malfoy and Albus Potter before they could land on the blood orange colored blooms.
All three Malfoy children and Sabine perked up. "Nana!" They all cried together.
Regal as a rose, Narcissa Black put her grandson and his best friend down on the patch of grass just beside her amaryllis before tipping her hat back, smile in place. "Come here and give me a hug all of you."
Lyra scrambled off Colby's back as a squirming Willow was gently let down by her father. Sabine also jumped from her father's arms before joining the Malfoy children in eclipsing the woman who had taken on the role of her grandmother since both hers were gone before she'd even been born.
"So beautiful, like cherry blossoms in the spring." She hugged all three girls before kissing each one's foreheads. "Hello dear, utterly handsome I must say." She grinned at Teddy who'd come over much more calmly to hug her.
"Nanaaaaa." The only male Malfoy child cried not being able to hold it anymore despite the best of himself, too excited to even pretend to be indignant and cool as he normally would, being five and a half now, nearly six!
"And you," She laughed as her only grandson launched himself between the girls. "But my," she said with a small airy laugh. "Spitting image of your father I swear. But thank goodness without his coddling and with your mother's compassion."
"Hey I'm compassionate!" Draco exclaimed in disbelief.
"But very much so coddled."
What was this? His own mother? He could still recall the days he could no wrong in his Mum's eyes. Though... he'd been a colossal brat as his wife often reminded him. So maybe it was better she was no blind to his faults but still this was a little too much compensation!"
!-!
"How was the tournament?" Narcissa asked as she gratefully accepted the tea from Luna. "Very interesting dear. What flavor is this one?"
"My dad's been on a rose water obsession for a while now. But it's very healthy and the only way Sabine and I take our tea now." Luna smiled serenely as she placed the cups of tea in front of the rest.
"Tuerenturas" Hermione leant over to spell the two terrors' cups.
On cue Draco, Harry and all the boys made faces save Blaise and Colby. Rose water.
"Oh please." Ginny rolled her eyes before taking a sip, her eyes closed. With the first sip, Ginny's nose sniffed the aroma of the rose water tea then took another sip. "Oh my goodness Luna, this is amazing." She smiled before rubbing her belly. "She agrees too." Ginny added.
"When is the due date Ginevra?"
Ginny sighed in defeat at her full name. No matter how many times she'd asked Narcissa to call her Ginny...
"Less than two months," Ginny bit her lip trying not to grin like a maniac.
"We're both hoping this one's as precious as these three." Harry said as he scooped the three girls into a hug, causing them to giggle.
"Unca Harry." Willow giggled.
"As long as the baby's not annoying as James." Lyra added, her expression dead serious as she glanced at the eldest Potter child in disdain.
"Lies, I know I'm your favorite." James stood up as if it would make his words more official.
"Leave Lyra alone today Romeo." Harry sighed as he grabbed his son's collar before the boy could make any trouble. "Drink your tea like a civilized person."
"Speaking of tea, I think I'll-"
"Draco Malfoy drink the tea Luna graciously made us all." Hermione glanced at her husband, stopping him in his tracks.
"It really does add something." Blaise admitted as Luna beamed at him. Colby nodded in agreement before all the boys tried for themselves.
"Colby, when do you begin Durmstrang?"
"At the end of summer," Colby answered with a nod.
Draco made a face as he recalled the argument he'd had with Colby's parents. Hogwarts was where Colby belonged!
"Ten's so young though. I remember how unbearable it was when Draco left at eleven. I couldn't leave my room when I got back from the train station." Narcissa reminisced while Willow attached herself to Colby, throwing her arms around his neck, not liking the idea of him leaving.
"I'll be okay," Colby shook his head with a small smile. "I'll be back every holiday." He moved Willow into his lap. "Anyway I'll be here for the rest of the month with Draco while mother and father are traveling."
"Our very own in house babysitter." Draco joked.
"Speaking of travels, how was your trip to Japan?" Hermione asked having seen her so regal like mother in law falter.
"Oh," Narcissa clasped her hands. "So beautiful and exotic. The people were more than welcoming and I," A confident smile graced her lips. "Felt like as if I was young again. So many compliments I was starting to believe I could be a model." She laughed it off.
"But you are beautiful!" Lyra announced, her arms thrown out for more emphasis.
Narcissa shook her head, despite the rest protesting. "My age is starting to show. I am a grandmother of four."
"Four?" Draco cried out before whipping around to look at Hermione or rather her stomach. "Is there something you-"
"No!" Hermione shook her head furiously. "Three's more than enough!"
"Draco really, have more faith in your wife. I think she would tell you before she told me if I were to have another grandchild."
"I never know with you two!" He just resigned, sitting back down as his heartbeat calmed.
"I meant Sabine either way." She turned to the youngest Zabini, running her long delicate fingers through Sabine's dark locks. "Blaise was practically my son every other summer as those two grew up."
Sabine looked down, smiling as her best friend nudged her.
"Well as soon as we finish tea, I have souvenirs for everyone."
Harry and Albus' eyes widened at the word souvenir. They both glanced at each other before taking their porcelain cups and draining their teas. "Done!" they chorused together.
