Shadows
Shadows are where they lay.
From a young age we are taught to be afraid of them,
Afraid of the dark,
Afraid of the unknown.
The shadows is where he hides.
He, the boogey-man,
That's what our innocent minds are taught,
But there's more to it.
Wake up, the boogey-man isn't real.
He's a metaphor,
A metaphor for the dangerous unknown.
Never venture out too far, or you'll be eaten.
But... It's just a metaphor.
The boogey-man,
He's actually the bad men.
The one's who take children.
The bad men,
The ones who hurt people,
The ones who kill,
The ones who steal.
Yet, children don't understand.
So we must use metaphors.
Metaphors like the boogey man.
So they learn to fear the world.
That way,
They'll never venture too far,
They'll be too scared,
To leave their parents' side.
