Home (Response to Talk to you)
It started with a little kiss and I fell. Great big things always start out with small beginnings, and it started with that little kiss. But the lead up didn't begin with that milestone, but with the grains of sand you laid for its foundation; and you did it without thought or effort. A grain of sand for the times you sat with me. A grain of sand for the times you talked to me. A grain of sand for the time I cried in your arms and you didn't think once of running away from the monster I thought I was. Little grain after grain. I didn't have any walls. I left myself open so I could be broken to the point where I couldn't feel broken anymore. But with that sand you built me a castle; a home within myself that I could protect myself in. And then you came in—I let you in—and that enormous castle you built felt all the less lonely. And then you took the stone from which our love started and cast it out, and we followed it. And we cast it out further each time, taking ourselves further each time. We settled down at each new destination and made them our home. And in just a short while, we found ourselves settling in a kingdom of our own, encompassing both of our sandcastles. We made the lands between us a part of us and built upon it a grander, safer home. So I guess it's safe to say I feel most at home in the home I've made with you. You're my home, and no matter how far we cast that stone to see where our relationship goes I will always be at home with you.
