Just as Essie prepared for a long overdue family dinner she read through the comments on her recent, replying to some people like she always did. That was until she came across a "news" account for her. Intrigued by the fact they claimed there was 'tea', the girl decided to check out the recent post from the account.

essiemullnews: TEA SIS! So there have been reports of Anne with an E series 2 being filmed (later confirmed by CBS *first picture*). However, as we all know, Essie has been in London and is now back home in Ireland. So how can they be filming without the lead girl herself? It seems that she has been replaced! Essie has not confirmed this herself nor hinted at her leaving the show but looking into the show's credits I found that Anne is now played by Amybeth McNulty and even a poster has been leaked with Amybeth's face. (Second and third images) Whether this is fake or true, I am not entirely sure. But if it is true I want to know why Essie left.

Essie was in shock. Her mouth dropped and she had to blink and reread the caption for a second time. This could not be true. They would have told her. Right? Immediately Essie rang her agent, Melisa Hill. She need to know.

"Hello?" Melisa answered, "Essie! How have you been?"

"Alright until now. Have I been replaced?" Essie replied getting straight to the point, she couldn't be bothered to beat around the bush.

Melisa coughed awkwardly, "about that..."

"What?"

"I may or may not have told the producers that you no longer want to be part of the show." Melisa told her.

Essie was fuming. She did what?! "Why? Why would you do that?"

"You don't need to play an eleven year old any more, you're weight issues make you look older and you were not right for the role in the first place. Plus, it's too much hassle for me to sort out your Canadian adventures."

"Too much of a hassle?" Cried Essie, "if it was that much of a hassle you should have said. I'm not a child I can do things for myself. As for declining without even consulting me is actually an insult. My parents pay you to help with my career and you do this. That's bullshit. So I'll save you the future hassle. You're fired!"

"You cannot do that, Essie!"

"I can and I have. Goodbye." Essie cut off the call in state of anger and she stormed down the stairs. Her parents, some cousins, some of the farmers and her grandparents were sat at the table waiting for dinner to finish cooking when Essie burst into the kitchen, her dad red and her teeth gritted.

"I've fired Melisa." She stated, huffing and collapsing in a seat beside Seamus.

"What? Why?" Asked her father, choking on his sip of water.

"She's claimed that me going to Canada for filming was too much hassle so declined me doing series two of Anne with an E! So now I have been replaced and found out through a fan account!"

Nancy slammed her fists on the table, her seat screeching as it scraped across the floor in such a force. "How dare she! We paid her to help you not do this! Thank Lord you fried her because if I get hold of her, she will be in a wooden onesie and six feet under!"

Essie's lips quivered, a tear slipping down her cheek. Anne with an e was something special to her. When she was younger and reading the books she imagined herself as Anne and to get the part was life changing but now it had been ripped from her. How much more had she missed out on? Was there more auditions? Roles? Did Melisa hide everything and play it off as if Essie didn't get many opportunities?

Seamus put his arm around his cousin, "there will be other roles, Essie," he said, kissing her head.

"But not Anne!" She cried, "now everyone probably hates me."

"I doubt that, darling, no one could hate you. Message them. Explain everything. It'll be okay." Her grandpa told her.

Essie nodded, wiping her tears on the cuff of her sweater and brought up the groupchat.

Essie:
This is probably a
message you should
have received a while ago.
You would have done so
if I did not only find out
about things today. I'm
sorry about not coming back
as Anne. I didn't even know
about series two until today.
It turns out my (now former)
agent declined the renewal of
my role in the show under the
pretence of me "not being
right for the role and looking too
old and being too much of a
hassle". If I'd have known sooner
I would have tried to rectify what
she had told the producers. But
I am too late. I will miss you
all millions and hope to stay in
touch (but only if you want to,
If you don't then I will deal with
that). I also wish Amybeth the best
and cannot wait to see her become
Anne as I am a fan of her previous
work and have no doubt in her talent.

Everyone of the cast sent replies all saying the same sort of thing. Even Amybeth sent her a message through Instagram.

Amybeth:
Hello Essie.
Everyone has just told
me about what happened
and I feel terrible because now
you don't have a role. Thank you
for your kind words but I don't
think I could ever be as good
as you when it comes to Anne
because you are fenomenal. I
hope there are no hard feelings
between us because I would
love if we could become friends.

Hiya, don't feel bad,
you had no idea or any
influence in it at all. You will
be a far better Anne than I was
and I have no doubt about that
at all. Of course there are no
hard feelings because you are
too lovely for there to be. I'd love
to be friends, is Irish Gals need to
stick together haha x

Amybeth:
True! Ireland doesn't
get the recognition it deserves.
I wish there was some way for
us both to be Anne! Maybe I should
suggest a twin for Anne that
I could play so you could be the
kindred spirit!

Essie:
Omg that would be
awesome haha, sadly not though.

Essie felt better as she and Amybeth got to know each other and the issue with Melisa seemed to slip her mind. As the two said goodbye, Harry messaged Essie regarding the post on the news account as well. Instead of retyping everything (because Essie is too lazy to do so) she sent a screenshot of the message she sent to the cast.

It seemed as if Harry was much more angry than her. Perhaps that was because talking with Amybeth subsided her anger. Amybeth seemed to bring light, joy and happiness to Essie, washing away her anger and sadness of losing her role in the television show. However, Essie was at a loss as to what to tell her fans. So maybe she wouldn't address it. At least not yet. In the future she would have to, they deserved to know but right now. Essie could not bring herself to.
