The truth can be harmful,
As can a lie. The difference is:
Truths only let you down once,
But lies can let you down as many times as they want.

The truth is often painful,
And lies are often soothing,
But, sometimes, it is better to feel pain
Than to be ignorant of pain.

Usually, we want the truth,
Until we have it,
And we hate lies,
Until we know the truth.

Sometimes, the truth is a lie,
And a lie is the truth;
How can we distinguish between them,
If we do not know their meanings?

How can we truly say the Sun is bright,
If every part of every sun is not bright?
How can we falsely say someone is guilty,
If we are all guilty of something?

What makes someone honest?
Never speaking a single non-truth?
What makes someone a liar?
Lying once, or one-thousand times?

If an honest person is someone who has not lied,
Then no one is honest.
If a liar is someone who has never told the truth,
Then this Earth has no liar.

If I am honest, because have told the truth,
And I am a liar, because I have lied,
Then am I an honest liar,
Or just a lie, in myself?
