Epilogue

Six months later.

"You know, Sam, I think it's that time of the month again," Dean said casually.

Sam took a swig of his beer, "What time?"

"Time to get drunk," Dean declared.

Sam chuckled, "Amelia might be mad if I do."

"You know I love her, but screw her, man. Spend the night with me instead of at your place."

Sam nodded, "Alright, we can do this. I think we might be getting too old, though."

Dean scoffed, "You are never too old to get drunk and have fun."

Sam asked, "What about an eighty year old man with a heart condition?"

Dean ignored him and waved over the waitress, ordering shots of tequila. Sam glared at him, "Tequila? Really?"

Dean shrugged, "To get drunk, you gotta do what you gotta do."

Sam folded his hands in a jokingly serious way, "Dean, I think you have a drinking problem."

Dean rolled his eyes. "I do not, Sammy. It just helps sometimes, ya know?"

Sam fiddled with his thumbs and spoke softly, "You're not over Cas, are you?"

Dean played it off. "Psh, what the hell are you talking about? It's been what? Six months? I got over him a long time ago."

Sam flicked his eyebrows up, "Sure, buddy." He lifted his beer to his lips and glanced out the window. He could have sworn he saw the flap of a trench coat in the wind.

"Hey, I'll be right back," he said, leaving without waiting for a reply.

He ran outside and caught up with the man in the trench coat. He placed a hand on his shoulder and slowly the man turned around. He stared at Sam with his dead blue eyes. Sam did a once-over of the shattered man standing before him, "You look like hell. What's happened to you?"

Castiel spoke quietly, "I-I'm human now. The other angels...they were angry with me-for falling in love with a human. They took my grace and left me here to die."

"Why didn't you come see us?" Sam asked.

"I didn't know how to find you, being human and all. I didn't really understand how the world worked around here. I finally tracked you down, but Dean seemed better...It didn't seem like he needed or wanted me... but I still love him. Everyday. He's never left my mind, not even once... I ruined any chance of us being together at this point."

A voice came from behind them, "Cas?"

Cas' head quickly shot in the direction he heard it. Dean stood there, shock on his face. Cas started to explain, "Dean, I-"

Dean shook his head, "Don't. I heard everything."

Cas looked down in defeat. Dean obviously didn't want him anymore.

But Dean shot him a bittersweet smile.

Castiel knit his brow, afraid to assume the best.

Dean jogged towards him and wrapped him in a hug, patting his back and squeezing tightly, as though he was afraid Cas would disappear again if he let go.

Dean whispered, "So, you still love me?"

Cas nodded, "I haven't stopped. Not even for a second."

He chuckled in disbelief, a tear rolled down his face, "But why? I'm such a simple man. There's nothing to me."

"Dean, you are in no way simple. You are complicated, and vast, and made of wonderful memories. I am in love with every part of you."

Dean gently kissed his forehead and grinned at the ground, "I never really stopped loving you either... angel."

End.
