A laundromat late at night is like an altered reality, with the bright lights and the silence and the alone feeling. Eden Brooks often enjoyed the silence of the trip to the laundry mat late nights, with her little girl sleeping on her while the washing machines and dyers gave a soft hum to sleep too. Often times, it was the only time that Eden could go due to her job as a stand-up comedian and a mother.

But sometimes the laundromat was a place of dirty looks and mean comments when other people were there. Eden was used to them, because she was black and her little girl was white. That didn't mean she didn't hate the comments, because she did, but with this society these days and being in New York, she had to grow some tough skin.

It was the same that night too, until a quiet man in the corner was fed up with the comments and called everybody out. As he noticed the scared little child, he calmly approached them, apologized and introduced himself as Captain America. Once he calmed the child, he introduced himself to her mother and explained a little why he was there.

From that point on, Chris and Eden couldn't seem to stop running into each other. And it wasn't long until Chris found himself falling for the woman.

- if Eden and Chris are endgame, that's totally up to the author. if they aren't, then they stay good friends.
