Plot ↴

Penelope Ray was just like any other teenager during their junior year of high school. It was a time for friends, partying, having a boyfriend or girlfriend, having fun and then worrying about your future and college. Frankly, the future worried Penelope just a bit and caused a slight anxiety that settled in her bones throughout the year. It also caused her to pull away from social outings and friends as she tried to focused on her future that she wanted for herself; only one of her friends decided to stay by her side as Penelope struggled internally.

That's where her best friend, Rowan-Grace Avery, comes in. Best friends since Elementary school and vowed to never leave the other's side. The two couldn't be more different, but they understood each other when the world didn't.

When things began to tank for Penelope, between school and now family dynamics, Rowan-Grace invites her to Youth Group on one random Wednesday in desperate attempts to save her. Penelope reluctantly agreed, and followed anyway.

There, she met Caleb Grimm- the man who was standing in for the regular Youth Pastor. He instantly knew something was off about the new teenager and tried to talk to her, but she quickly denied. But Penelope kept going back, and over the course of weeks, Caleb finally gets through to the girl and shows her the way of Christ, even if it isn't easy.
