Later that day

Simon is at home in his room, planning how to find Hank. How does an eleven-year-old find a dog that's been taken by (most likely) the government? He uses all the knowledge he can piece together from every crime movie or TV show he's ever seen.
But because Simon's not a cop or, at least, someone who knows how to hack stuff, this plan isn't going very far.
Rage takes over and Simon throws his phone across the room. He scatters the pillows and swipes an arm across his desk, knocking every thing off of it.
Simon sits heavily on his bed, breathing fast. He removes his head from his hands and looks at the floor.
He spots something out of the corner of his eye. Simon stands and picks up a slightly crumpled news paper.
The front page was a picture of a science building. The article is titled:
New Science Center Opens in Willowdale.
The article is about a lab that opened a week ago in Simon's home town. The lead scientist wants to investigate new things in science and was welcoming people to visit his lab.
What if Hank is there, Simon thinks. It's worth a shot.
