Literally a second later

Simon and Hank run through the hall, dodging screaming guards. They're almost to the door leading to the main building when a scientist steps in front of it.
Hank recognizes him as the doctor who came to the lab-like room.
"Oh, hey. What's up Doc," Hank says.
"I won't let you get away," the Doc says, pointing at the boy and his dog.
"You can't have Hank! He's my dog!" Simon screams rebelliously.
Hank jumps and bites the Doc's leg, causing him to scream in pain. Simon hears footsteps coming from behind. "We have to go!" He yells to Hank, scooping him up in his arms and running out the door.
Simon sees his parents and goes to them.
"Simon what's going on here? Did someone get hurt back there? Are you o-," Simon's mom stops rambling when she notices Hank in her son's arms.
"Is that Hank? Why is he here?"
Simon ignores his parents and says, "Hank was kidnapped by these guys. Now we have to go." Simon turns back to see the Doc limping toward them.
"NOW!"
The family scrambled out of the building and back into their car before zooming off down the highway.
"What's going on here? Why are we running?"
Simon explains how Hank can talk and how he was kidnapped. His parents are still skeptical, but Hank clears that by saying, "Yeah, uh, hi. I'm your son's dog. I can talk I guess."
Simon's mom screams and his dad nearly drove off the road.
"Hey calm down, I'll explain more when we get home."
