Chapter Five

Heatwave's digits scrambled to find the right buttons as he contacted Optimus. He stared up into the screen waiting, and waiting for a response. There was none. He tried again. Nothing. He growled and punched the floor.

"Slag it all" he growled. "We need to get her back!"

Chase put a hand on his friends shoulder, but was immediately slammed back into the wall as Heatwave turned his rage onto the blue mech.

"It would be advisable for you to calm down Heatwave", Chase said calmly. That only angered Heatwave more.

"How can I calm down?! They, they, ugh!!" Heatwave walked out of the communications room and into the main part of the bunker where the Chief was waiting.

"Heatwave?" Chief Burns asked. "Care to explain wait happened?"

Heatwave fumbled over his words. "There were... so many dead.... so much energon... and then... she's gone... she's probably dead... we have to find her!"

Everyone looked confused except for Blades, who had been there. Blades sighed before gently leading Heatwave away from everyone. "Heatwave... why don't you go rest? You've done enough for now... we'll find her."

Heatwave turned his optics down, afraid to tell his friend what he was feeling. Blades only smiled.

"You don't have to say anything. We already know what she is to you", Blades spoke. Heatwave frowned.

"It's only been a few days. Why do I...? Why am I so attached to her?"

Blades smiled but left his friend to ponder, knowing he needed it before going to recount what had occurred the human and Autobots.

Silverdust struggled against her chains, but she was getting nowhere. She frowned and turned her helm downward, her optics losing focus. She just wanted to be back with the Rescue Bots. She didn't know how long she had been gone, but she knew she wanted to see Kade, and Cody, and Graham. She wanted to see Dani, and Chief. She wanted to see Blades, and Boulder and Chase. She wanted to see Heatwave. She knew why, she just didn't want to admit the fact that her spark was drawn to him, and him only. She hated it so much. But she knew all the stories of how you only have one sparkmate and yadda yadda yadda.

She fought back tears, knowing he wouldn't except her for what she was. She may be the daughter of a Prime, but she was no saint. She was Ghost, a deadly assassin that killed only in the night time. She only went after energon mines, so they would be easier for Ratchet to locate.

She heard the door open, and looked up to see Megatron in his full pride and glory. She glared at him, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall.

"What do you want with me?" she snarled. Megatron smirked, and gently raised her chin up with a sharp digit, looking directly into her optics.

"Hmm. Such a pretty color. Too bad it's the wrong color", Megatron snarled. He let her helm drop before not so gently scraping one of his digits directly underneath her optic. She winced, knowing it would leave a scar.

"Let me go!" she snarled fiercely.

"Not yet", Megatron smirked. "Knockout has some testing to do. He needs your energon for this testing. So don't mind if I spill some for his tests."

Megatron then scraped her side, allowing more energon to drip. Silverdust hissed in pain, fighting back a pained cry that would give Megatron more satisfaction.

"Perhaps you will be useful in telling where the Autobot base is", Megatron sneered.

Silverdust glared at him. "I'll never tell! I'll never betray my family! Not like you did!"

Megatron chuckled darkly. "My family betrayed me! Not the other way around, my dear femme."

Silverdust growled softly, but held her tongue, knowing it would do her no good. Megatron huffed, and turned to leave.

"Knockout, the energon is yours for the taking. Oh, and clean her up some. I want her to look pretty for when we show her to the Autobots."

Silverdust growled softly, and watched as Knockout entered. He smirked at the femme.

"He wasn't kidding about your beauty", Knockout sneered. "Although it's far nicer than mine, so we might have to change that."

Silverdust growled angrily. "Just take whatever energon you need. I'm already going to die here anyway."

Knockout chuckled. "Megatrom will more likely turn you into his pet for him to torture as he pleases, just to get back at Optmus."

Silverdust's optics widened and she went silent. She was afraid of what the warlord might do. Knockout chuckled, but didn't say anything as he began to gather up some of her energon. "That should be enough for now."

Knockout began to clean up her wounds, but left the one alone by her optic. Then he left her alone, where she was able to relax the best she could while being held up by chains. She sighed softly, and stared down at the energon stained floor. Her mind went back to Heatwave, and she frowned.

She missed him deeply, much more than she missed the others. She didn't know why, but she had some sort of connection to him. She sighed sadly, and looked up, wondering if Heatwave was thinking of her.

Knockout stared at the screen in front of him. Megatron had ordered him to find out who the Silver femme's carrier was, but it wasn't who they thought it was. They had assumed that since Optimus was her sire, then her carrier would be an Autobot. That wasn't the case. Knockout did some typing and his mouth dropped.

"Megatron", Knockout murmured into his com-link. "I have something you need to see."

A few moments later, Megatron was stalking through the medbay doors and glaring at Knockout.

"This had better be good", he growled. Knockout grinned.

"I think you will find this to be rather pleasing", the red mech smirked as he gestured to his screen. Megatron's optics widened, and his mouth curled into a malicious grin.

"This is a rather unexpected, but pleasing turn", Megatron growled. "Send the results to Soundwave, and have him meet me in the prisoner's cell."

Knockout nodded and quickly set to work, hoping the femme would listen to reason and join up with her family.

Silverdust struggled to get out of the chains, growing frustrated when it did nothing but chafe her wrists. She sighed and stopped struggling, staring down at the floor. She held back an enraged cry as she thought about the Rescue Bots. She wanted to go back to them so badly. She looked up as the doors opened, and she glared at the silver and purple Decepticon leader. The warlord grinned at her knowingly.

"And how is the precious femme doing today?" he asked. She refused to talk, glaring at him silently.

"Doing well, apparently", Megatron smirked. Silverdust felt a prodding through the bond that she knew was blocked off. Or the one that she thought was blocked off. She gasped in shock as a wave of malicious emotion filled her body.

She shivered softly, before returning her gaze to the intrigued optics of the silver mech. She glared at him, but it was more confused now than angry. Megatron started to chuckle dangerously, and it made Silverdust nervous.

"It really is you", he murmured. "I didn't want to believe Knockout's findings but I can deny it no longer... Daughter."

Silverdust growled softly. "You are not my Sire! Optimus is! He may have adopted me, but he is my father. More than my real Sire ever will be!"

"Now that hurts, daughter", Megatron sneered. "You should be kinder to your sire."

Silverdust lurched forward. "Stop calling me that! I am not your daughter!"

Megatron grinned, and motioned a familiar faceless mech forward. On the screen, Silverdust stared in horror at the evidence linking her to the Decepticon warlord.

"NO!!" she screamed, lurching forward. "NO! YOU'RE LYING! YOU HAVE TO BE LYING!"

Megatron chuckled. "And yet the resemblance is uncanny. I seem to remember a certain femme who lost control of her rage, and began fighting like a Decepticon."

Silverdust fell back, and stared at the ground, tears filling her optics. She fought back the memories that threatened to overtake her mind but they refused to leave her mind.

She lost all sense of feeling as her vision went dark.
