"All the world's a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed."

She sat lifelessly on the ice-cold bathroom floor, staring at her phone with a blank face. Her brain suddenly went out of service as it kept replaying the conversation she had with her assistant earlier.

She carelessly leaned her head on the toilet seat cover and pinched the bridge of her pointy nose as her mind caught the last words before the call ended.

"Min Yoongi, the PD's name is Min Yoongi."

4.30 pm

Walking gracefully while giving a little nod to the young security at the entrance of her work place, a 26-year-old Kim Soomin was never failed to make the man felt intimidated and flustered at the same time. Clearing his throat, the security politely greeted her.

"Good afternoon, Miss Kim."

Soomin gave him a mesmerizing smile as she headed to the elevator section. She bit her lower lip in frustration when she made eye contact with an impatient face whose fingertips were restlessly tapping the receptionist desk. His eyebrows were furrowed and the upper part of his lips twitched in displeasure. Not to mention, his left foot moved uncontrollably back and forth, as if he were paddling a skateboard or something.

"I know I was late, but it is still half an hour before the meeting starts. No need to add wrinkles to your gorgeous face by pulling that upset expression."

Heard nothing but a low groan from the man who was apparently her boss, Soomin instinctively quickened her steps as she tried to catch the elevator. She flinched and chuckled when she heard one of the receptionists ask the boss to put the crystal vase back on the desk and not to throw it away, reminding him how expensive it was. Managing to slip in between the nearly closed elevator doors, she heaved a sigh of relief as she fixed her somewhat messy ponytail.

"What a great way to start the day, Miss Kim."

Soomin looked over her shoulder to find a couple of her juniors cutely giggling at the scene they had just witnessed between their boss and their favorite senior.

She stuck out her tongue for a second, then put her finger on her pinkish, glossy lips. "My bad," she smirked while waving to the kids as she made her way to step out of the elevator, leaving the girls squealing and fan-girling over her.

"Have a nice day, Miss Kim!" uttered one of the girls excitedly.

"Thank you, I will."

I will, kids, I will. She kept letting the words roam in her mind as she tried to push away all bothersome thoughts she had since she received the phone call this morning.

Entering her office, she hung her long black coat on the back of her chair and placed her other personal belongings on her desk. She managed to catch a glimpse of herself as she passed a mirror standing near her bookshelf.

Clothes checked.
Make up checked.
Hairdo checked.
Kim Soomin, you are beyond perfect.

Made a little touch up on her messy ponytail once again, she left her office to the room in which the unexpected meeting would be held.

5 minutes left. The room was still empty. Neither her grumpy boss nor her counterpart were there. She took the opportunity to prepare her meeting materials when she finally heard a couple of footsteps approaching the closed room.

10..9..

She silently counted as the sound of footsteps, which was followed by a faint chat, became clearer.

8..7..

She stood up as she took the last sip of her tea.

6..5..

Closing her eyes in a second, Soomin heaved a deep breath. She detoxed her own mind from all the anxiousness and nervousness that had been mentally dominated her as she exhaled slowly.

4..3..

She was ready.

2..1..

The door was opened.

0..

There you are..

"Good afternoon, Mr. Min."

Gorgeously standing right in front of her guest's eyes, Soomin smiled as she offered her hand to the man for a handshake. There was a significant pause before he took her hand and greeted her calmly.

"Good afternoon, Miss Kim. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. Now, shall we start the meeting about our upcoming project?"

"Sure, but don't we need to wait for Mr-"

"Nah, no need. It will be fine with just the two of us."

.
.
.

It had been seven years since their last encounter, yet her voice was steady and calm, while his was firm. Her smile was warm, and his was genuine. Her eyes were screaming out her dominance and confidence, while his were filled with nothing but determination.

Both of them had grown apart since then, yet they surely did not waste any second to lay back or let the bitter past ruin the better future laid in front of them. They had worked so hard to get out from the stormy days, and now, as the bright sunlight had finally enlightened and warmed their cold and dark days, neither Soomin nor Yoongi expected what fate would do to their precious life in the future.
