Epilogue

I took a morning shower and quickly got up on my Silver suit. It's just five in the morning and it has been a week at hindi pa rin ako makatulog ng maayos. Lagi akong nagigising tuwing madaling araw at paulit-ulit lang ang gigising sa aking bangungot. 

Kapag mag-isa ako, pakiramdam ko laging may nakaambang panganib sa buhay namin. It was the first time they attacked the Silver Knights and still has no definite reasons how it happened. It could be the Black Knights, it could be anyone else. But we're sure, the lives we lost on that accident, they will never be forgotten as they will get justice on our behalf.

And here's a new day, new things awaits for us.

We've been living on our new quarters for a week as our previous cabin were still under investigation. Mahirap mag-adjust sa totoo lang. Hindi lahat kayang baliwalain ang mga pangyayari. Some even wanted to drop their role as a Silver Knight because of this huge threats to our lives. Pero katulad ako at ng iba pang mga mananatili, the justice will prevail. At hindi naman namin sisisihin kung gusto nilang umalis. It's their choice but we all know before we even stepped into this job, we know the risk of getting killed and that's the harsh reality we live in.

From the numbers we lost, malaking kawalan 'yon para sa aming Silver Knights. Kaunti na nga lang kami, nalagasan pa. But our chief told us that everything happens for a reason at 'yon na lang din ang kinakapitan namin. Whatever may happen, if we live in the next few days or not, we just hope we will survive it.

Others are still asleep. We were refrained to do our daily tasks. Checking the grounds, raising reports and such things we always do. Some took a rest and some chose to do their jobs. Ang sabi nila, iyon lang ang paraan nila para kahit papaano ay maalis sa isipan nila 'yong nangyari no'ng nakaraang linggo. It is still our job to serve the First-Class people even if our loves is at stake. Wala kaming magagawa ro'n. This is our job, so this will be our life.

Lumabas ako ng new quarters namin. It is still around the area pero walang nakakaalam na rito nila kami nilagay pansamantala o kung hanggang kailan nila gusto. Ang nagiging daan namin ay mismo sa loob ng palace but we have our own passageway at hindi namin maaabala ang mga Royals. I think it was one of the Gold Knights room before they transfer to another quarters which their main cabin now. Gold Knights are snub, I mean they don't really interact with us but there are times but not often.

I left the room and walk on the hallway. The curtains of the window has been lifted up. Madilim pa rin naman sa labas. I guess the sun will rise at six, I have no idea, I lost my sense of time when there's too much happening to us.

Good thing my family heard of my situation. We were also given a chance to talk to them and relay them our situation. I wanted to go back and be with them pero ayokong iwanan ang trabaho. It is my life, pinaghirapan ko 'to. I can do this at the end of my life, until my old age if it's possible. Kung ano man ang mangyari. I would never leave my duty even if it means death.

Those families who lost their love ones, they received amendment from the High Officials. It was the only way they could send their regards and condolences. I'm still trying to pick up the pieces though. It is hard to believe that we all lost them especially Duncan and Ryle.

When I finally got out of the premises, sinubukan kong lumabas ng gate at napansin kong wala namang nagbabantay sa paligid. There are security cameras though but we know that's not enough. Huminga ako ng malalim at humampas sa mukha ko ang napakalamig na hangin. I guess, it is the new season coming in now. It will be so cold for all of us.

I was about to head inside to prepare for the upcoming activity at eight, I saw someone jogging around the area or so I thought it is what she's doing. 

"Moira!" I shouted to get her attention. Hinanap naman niya kung saan nanggaling 'yong boses at saka siya napatingin sa direksyon ko. Hindi ko pa siya namukhaan kaagad dahil madilim pa. Tumakbo naman siya papunta sa akin at nang tumigil siya sa harapan ko ay hinahabol niya ang hininga niya. She's wearing running tight clothes. But I'm not interested to check it further. 

"What's up, Nathan?"

I smirked and crossed my arm. "Are you trying to run away again?

She laughed and shook her head. "No. I wouldn't want to be the problem again. Tatanggapin ko na lang kung anong gusto nilang gawin sa akin. I have nowhere to go naman. Mahahanap at mahahanap pa rin ako kapag ginawa ko 'yon."

"And we're sorry for that," I sarcastically said. 

"Yeah, maybe..." she shrugged off her shoulder. "But I'm also sorry for what you've been through, Nathan. I know it was all sudden. I know you're still grieving for the lost of your mates. I understand it and I don't wanna pressed my situation to your face. Mababaw lang ang akin. Let's move on with it."

"Sure, thanks..." I muttered and gave a slight nod. "Hope you make it and enjoy your life, Moira. It's never too late to appreciate what you already have."

"I know, Nathan. I will," she smiled and that's, I think, a genuine one. She planted a kiss on my cheek. "I'm very sorry Nathan but I hope you'll also make it in life."

"Thanks, Moira. I will." 

"See you around, don't worry, I won't be the missing heiress anymore--never will be," she laughs as she run away from me and get back on the track for her jogging.

Muli naman akong napahugot ng malalim na hininga at napatingin ako sa kalangitan. On the far end of the sky, the sunshine almost setting up and I can't wait to start this day. Not just for me, but for everyone.

I stayed in the office room where I would be needed. After the brief discussion, lumabas na rin kami ng office kung saan pupunta kami sa training grounds. We supposedly to have training in the coming week pero dahil sa pangyayaring iyon, our scheduled was postponed for another round up of training to those who wish to be a Silver Knight.

For a week, we were trying to recruit members as much as we needed. All those people we recruited will have to come through a combat training which will determine how far they can go and who will give up in the middle of our training. It happened before and I'm sure it will happen once again. And the thing is, only a few was interested to join after the explosion last week. Only those who are brave enough to take the role steps up for it. And with that, they're already brave as they have the guts to risk their lives amidst of the controversy.

 "Mister Langdon, are you ready?" My Chief asked and I nodded. "Please meet them."

As he ordered, tuluyan akong lumabas ng premises at pinuntahan ang mga trainees sa training grounds kung saan mangyayari ang iba't ibang pagsasanay na kanilang haharapin. Umayos sa pagkakatayo ang lahat ng makita nila akong papalapit sa kanila. They were all wearing white shirts, black pants and combat boots which is the proper attire for the training.

I stood before them and because they weren't aware of all the rules, they'll be knowing it soon enough but for now, they need to know who I am.

"Good morning, trainees," I greeted. "I'm Nathan Langdon, one of the Silver Knights but I stood here in front of you as your Silver Knight Coach and Trainer for the rest of your trainings that will last for a month. And as of now. I already expecting that everyone in here stood before me will make it to the end. You signed up for this so you should know the risk you're putting in this job. Makakaasa ba ako Silver Knight trainees?"

"Yes sir," they all said in chorus and saluted on me.

"Great! Now let's get to our position," I ordered.

I watch them all formed in line. And I remembered my life as a trainee back then. It was worth it every pain, black eyes, and sort of things that I never imagined I'd experienced. At the end of the way, these trainees will also look forward of how they have become. They will know it. They will see how I look at all these now. And I'm sure those who aren't with us now are proud to the new Silver Knights in the making.

And I'm going to make this a wonderful, chaotic training. Watch out because these new Silver Knights won't play around.
