Chapter 8
It didn't take long before the rowdy morning quickly turned into a quiet and enjoyable afternoon. Months had passes since Rob had come to the door demanding that she return home.
And in those months Alanna had been swamped with work. More work then she knew what to do with and no free time what so ever.
Alanna never would have guessed that it would have turned out this way. Having tea with Tywin Lannister in his study was a blessing in disguise that Alanna had no idea she knew she needed -- until now.
"So, your father arranged your marriage to Roose Bolton?"
Tywin questioned putting his tea cup to his lips. She nodded happy to finally have a free moment to breath.
"Yes. He thought Roose would be a good match for me."
She explained sipping the warm tea. Tywin nodded and hummed. He lowered his own cup and placed the whole saucer into the table before them. Folding his hands over caused Alanna to arch a brow.
"Your father has been arrested."
She blinked looking at Tywin. He noticed she was trying to wrap her head around his words so he continued.
"The King has died in his sleep. Your father is being accused of trying to over throw the crown."
"What the -- my father would never do that! He's loyal to King Robert!"
Tywin frowned shaking his head.
"The evidence is against him. He admitted that he didn't believe my grandson to being the true King."
Tywin watched her expression closely. He could read her like an open book at this point. He knew she was fighting with herself over everything trying to figure out what was happening.
"On top of it all -- Tyrion has been kidnapped by your mother."
"He -- wait he's what!?"
"Your mother hired people to kidnap my son to be tried by a judge for the accident that fell upon your younger brother."
"She -- I have to speak with her -- "
"Sit down Alanna."
Tywin's stern voice caused her to pause as she had begun to rise from her chair. Slowly she sat back down. Her mind racing trying to figure out something to do to help her family.
"You can't help them Alanna. They've dug their own grave."
Her eyes locked with his. He was right. He was right there was nothing that she could do to help them. Not against Tywin Lannister. She had made some gold money that was true enough, but it was nothing compared to the Lannisters.
Anything that she would try to do would be shut down before she could even start it.
"You have nothing to fear my darling."
Tywin said leaning over and cupping the bottom of her chin. Her heart stopped in her chest, frozen by Tywin's gaze.
"I'll make sure nobody touches you."
