"Hello, pepper"

"HELLO. WHO IS THIS?"

"You know exactly who this is. Why are you yelling?"

"OH IT'S YOU. HOLD ON, LET ME STEP OUTSIDE. I'LL CALL YOU BACK IN A MINUTE."

Dial Tone

"Hey, sorry about that. It's a little loud here."

"No problem. Are you at a party or something? I thought you hated parties..."

"Nope, not a party. I'm at Modern Sushi, and it's really crowded."

"Oh, is that the new Japanese restaurant downtown?"

"Yup. The food is amazing, but there are literally a thousand people here, not even kidding."

"I hate sushi."

"WHAT?! How does one possible hate sushi?"

"Well, I'm vegetarian, so I hate all food with meat."

"Huh, interesting. How long have you been vegetarian?"

"Since I was three. My mom read an article about ethical treatment of animals or something, immediately cleaned every meat product out of our house, and never looked back. My sister and I are both vegetarian."

"That's cool. I kind of want to be vegan someday, but I don't think I have the discipline for it. I mean, I'd have to give up sushi. And bacon."

"Well, baby steps. Anyway, I won't keep you from your parents for too long. You can get back to your meal if you'd like."

"Oh, you think that I'm eating a meal with my parents right now? Haha, that's a good one."

"What, were your parents not able to make it for family weekend?"

"Something like that. I'm with my roommate and her mom actually. Are your parents here?"

"No, they're both busy, but my sister is flying in tomorrow morning! I'm super excited - I haven't seen her since the wedding."

 "Wasn't the wedding just last week?"

"And your point is?"

"You're really close to your sister, aren't you?"

"Yeah. She's my best friend."

"Sounds nice. I wish I had that. Anyway, I see the waiter coming with our sushi. Got to go. Bye."
