"So you're telling me that you have absolutely no idea what you want to do with your life," said the peppy red-headed academic advisor sitting across from Devon. He was supposed to meet with her to finalize his college plans and career goals, but frankly, he couldn't care less.
She sighed dramatically. "Alright, we're going to try something else. Tell me what you're passionate about."
"Uh...video games? Pranking people?"
"Video games and pranks. This is hopeless," she muttered. "What about college? You can always apply as an undecided major and take a few courses to see what you're interested in. What do you think?"
He remained silent, playing with his broken fingernail. "Honestly, Ms. Frazier, I don't really think college is for me."
The woman's face turned the color of her hair, and for a brief moment, Devon honestly thought that steam was going to come out of her ears. She took a deep breath. "Tell you what, why don't you think about colleges and majors for the next few days and we'll meet again later. You're dismissed."
Devon shuffled out of the office, dragging his feet on the linoleum tiles.
