Six

He hasn't come back.

I don't know whether to be excited or happy.. but all I know is he took his car back.

He isn't coming back.

I messed up, and he's gone.

I'm such a fucking idiot.

I stood up, taking in a sharp breath, off my bed. I snuggled my toes into the carpet and walked over to the mirror. I studied my features.

Why me?

What does Georgia look like?

How much do I look like her?

I don't get it.

But all I know is he isn't coming back.

**

I sat on her desk chair, in stealth mode. I could hear her thoughts.

She doesn't realize.

She looks exactly like Georgia.

This is going to be as hard as leaving Georgia was.. I'm finally going to go where I belong.

No more lingering in the junk yard with my shitty car.

I'm going to heaven.

I stood up and everything around me froze, including Jess. Her door slowly creaked open until it was a bright blinding white.

She stepped out.

Her hair curled, falling onto her dainty shoulders, and her lips painted with bright red lipstick. Her lips curled into a smile,

"Hello, Brendon." she said. I smiled, my eyes slightly tearing up.

"Hello, Darling." I said, and she came running over to me. Her arms wrapped around my neck as her face burried into my shoulder. Her perfume was still sharp and flowery, as it was in 1968. She pulled apart, and placed her hands on my cheeks, and brought her lips to mine. Oh how I missed that. She pulled apart and looked at me,

"Are you ready, my love? I've been waiting for so long."

"Yes, Georgia. I'm ready." I said. She smiled and kissed me once more before grabbing my hand and leading me out.

"Wait." I stopped. She turned around, concerned. I raced over to Jess's desk and scribbled a note for her, and placed it in her hand before running back. "Okay. I am prepared." I said, her smile returning.

She lead me to the door and we stepped into the bright light, toward heaven.

Happily ever after for me, I suppose.

**

I sighed and suddenly there was a slip of paper in my hand. Confused, I opened it.

Dear Jessica

Thank you for reminding me of Georgia. I have followed her into heaven now, and I will never see you again.. I'm sorry, but this is what I need.

I'm reunited with the love of my life.

-Brendon.

Oh. He's gone, for sure.

At least he's happy.

But.. Will I ever find love?

My phone buzzed, and I looked down. It was a message from a guy I met at the cafe yesterday.

Dallon: Hey, you ready for our date tonight?

I texted back,

Me: Yeah.

Maybe he's the my soulmate. We'll just have to see.
