Chapter 1: Moving To America
In the city of Seoul, South Korea, Cindy's family were in traffic leaving to head to America. Nari Moon was doing crossword suddoku on her tablet, Junior was playing on his Gamecube and Cindy was listening to music on her cellphone. It was bursting loud that even Albert Moon Senior can hear it while driving. Albert Senior looked in the rear view mirror and saw Cindy looking out the window. Albert Sr says "Cindy. Cindy." She was not paying attention and her father had to raise his voice. "Cindy!" Cindy then jumped and took off her earplugs and looked around confused "Huh?!" Albert Sr says "Neoui eum-ag ~ida neomu hwalyeohan. (Subtitle: Your music is too loud.) Hoejeon geugeos hawl. (Turn it down.) Nanuen gyeondil su eobsneun e chojeom." (I'm trying to focus.) Cindy says "Ye, papa." (Yes, papa.) She turned down her music and begins to speak in English. "Remind me again why we're moving out of South Korea?" Nari turned her head towards the backseat and says "Because your father agreed to work in America to make big money. Here the economy is getting a little weak almost every year, honey. We have to move or else we won't have a home to go to." Albert Jr says "Still a bad thing to do, mom. I'm going to miss my friends a lot." Cindy says "It's not like you're going to have friends in America." Albert Jr says "I want friends who know my heritage, not just dumb American people who don't even know what we're saying." Cindy says "So, we'll make them understand our language. It's not that bad, Junior." Albert Jr continued playing his Gamecube. Cindy looked out the window and says in Korean. "Neoneun mos algoissda, donglyo. (You will never know, brother.) Geugeos hal sui-issda issda jangnan mandeulgi chingu nugu aleu migug salam." (It may be fun making friends who are American.) Cindy kept looking out the window peeping at signs that was in Korean and she rested her eyes as the music kept playing.
In several hours later, they arrived in North America and Cindy woke up and looked outside towards the sun beaming on her face. She blocked the sun with her book and saw a big city in plain sight along with the tall metal tower in the center with a symbol of an 'A' on the side. Nari says "Kids, welcome to New York City." Cindy's hazel eyes lit up and says "Wow. It's amazing. Do we have to go to school here?" Albert Senior says in English. "We'll see." Nari saw the city as well and says "Alright. We are going to Manhattan, dear." Albert Senior nodded and drove to the city of Manhattan. He saw a two story rental house next to a mansion and he parked into the driveway. A house saleman appeared at the side of the house. Albert Sr told the salesman that they were going to live in the house and he signed the signature line and paid for it. He had the key in his hand and unlocked the door. The family went inside and Nari says "This is fine, but the paint on the walls are chipping off and the furniture is antique." Albert Jr says "In other words, this place is run down as dirt." Cindy looked around the house and says "We'll fix it up if we can pay for a lot of things that is." Nari says "Alright, kids. Go pick out your rooms upstairs while start organizing our plans." Cindy says "Okay, sure. Come on, Junior." The kids went upstairs to check out their rooms.
Two days later, the mailman came and puts mail in the mailbox and drove over to the next house. Nari checked the mail and it had an invitation with a school symbol on it. She went back into the house and closed the door. Cindy was marking her room with Korean symbols using a huge permanent marker. Her room wall was painted a cream color and her bed sheets were red and white. It was also organized with bookshelves and a huge desk with papers on it. Nari called Cindy downstairs. Cindy came downstairs and Nari says "You just got accepted into Midtown High School's Open House. Cindy took the envelope and says "That's really cool." Nari says "I will take you there tomorrow." Cindy says "Okay, mom." Nari says "Now, wash up for dinner and get some sleep. You have a big day tomorrow. You too, young man." Albert Jr was shocked and says "What?! I got to go to school, too?!" Cindy says "Of course unless you want be called stupid for rest of your life." Albert Jr puts up a middle finger at Cindy and she rolled her eyes and says "Oh, that's real mature." Nari smacked Junior's hand and he winced in pain. Then Nari went into the kitchen with her husband to chop vegetables. Cindy walked past Junior and says "Right back at you." Cindy hid her middle finger under her arm as she chuckled while going to the bathroom to wash her hands. Junior crossed his arms and pouted as he went upstairs to wash his hands.
(End of Chapter 1: Moving To America)
Yay! The first chapter is done, finally! What did you think of the Korean language and the family itself? Pretty awesome, right? I'm trying to keep it based on their heritage as often as possible because Cindy Moon is Korean-American along with her family. Also what did you think about the cast? Is it legit or do I need to change some things? Let me know and I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I will see you all later! Next chapter coming soon! 😁😄😉✌
