32-Celine
"I couldn't quit you even if I tried
'Cause just like that
There's an angel in my presence
And I realize I'm nobody without you
Just like that
I'm addicted to your presence
And I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do
Without you" Celine-Gallant
**********
"Who knew Montmartre would be such a hike." Celine said, wiping the sweat off her brow.
Even though she was wearing an off-the-shoulder lemon shirt, and blue high-waisted shorts, the golden sun gave no relief. The nice part about France was the weather was pretty moderate, most of the time. But when it was hot, it was hot. The burning sun was ready to sear her skin.
The old white buildings provided no shade. They reflected the rays, making the whole city appear bright and pristine. Celine hoped this is what heaven looked like. For in the moment, it seemed like the most angelic the world could ever get. They walked together, hand brushing against hand. Watching as the seemingly old renaissance buildings turned into those of a darker more medieval time. The smooth streets transitioning into cobble stone that made you second guess if you had traveled back in time.
"Everyone Celine, it's the highest point in France. It literally means 'Mountain of Mars'." Jimin said, sending her a knowing smile. The man seemed barely effected by the rays, wearing a blue shirt and khakis. The shades that remained on his face covered his eyes, and Celine found out she now had a true distaste for sunglasses.
Slowly, the buildings varied in color. Looking primary or pastel. A little taste of bright autumn ciders, and summer candies. Falling apart in some places, and some in better condition than newer buildings. She was amazed at just how stereotypical and french this place was. In the best way possible. People littered the sides of streets, selling various items that were handmade. People were painting portraits of tourists. A couple giggles here and here, of little children and parents talking to each other in a language she wished she understood. It was beautiful.
Yes of course the city wasn't perfect. But that is the beauty of life. Finding the things that make you smile amongst the imperfections.
Modern society melted away. Not even a spot of English found anywhere. Just people and language and happiness.
"Chill Jimin, we all can't be as knowledgeable as you." Celine said, trying to mentally take pictures of everything.
She turned to face him, her heart beating a little faster. Still amazed that after seeing the world, she'd rather just see his face again. The delicate way his fair skin stood against the blue sky. His body languid, a river against the tide of people. His pretty lips carnations of spring, that could thaw away at her frozen heart.
"And I didn't know that turning 19 would make your attitude worse." He said, taking this opportunity to bite back at her.
"Well, that comment touched my soul. In a good way of course."
"Okay queen of darkness we're almost there."
She looked forward, following to wear Jimin pointed. The girl saw the top of a huge building, though she couldn't tell what it was. There were a lot of people in this area. It seemed like everyone was going to the same place.
"Thank god! What are we going to do?" She asked, skipping forward a bit. Grabbing onto Jimin's hand and she walked backwards.
But the man knew her ways by now. He narrowed his eyes, a smirk appearing at the side of his mouth. The silver haired man knew when to avoid her begging golden eyes, and her subtle touches.
"You'll see." He replied, not giving up easily.
Ever since this morning, when he said there was going to be a surprise, she had been trying to find out what it was.
The girl pouted, lower lip sticking out as she stopped walking. The man almost ran into her, steadying himself on one of her shoulders as she looked up at him with big eyes.
"Please."
Jimin rolled his eyes, opening his mouth. Celine smiled widely, thinking she had won. Before he close his mouth again. The man leaned forward, silently pressing a soft and tingling kiss on her forehead. For a second, she forgot about everything, the surprise feeling like nothing compared to this.
He must have known the effect of his kiss, for he remained smug as he pulled away from the stubborn girl.
"Just because it's your birthday, does not mean I will give you the answer."
"C'mon, at least give me a hint?"
They were almost at the top of the hill now, everything becoming a little more clear.
"Well Montmartre is an old little area. It hasn't really lost it's historic charm yet. It holds a beautiful cathedral, and a spot where you can look at all of Paris. Honestly, the best crepe I ever had was from here. They're known for their street paintings. Don't worry, you'll love it." He said, soft voice enthralling her like a silk scarf flowing in the wind.
"Sounds lovely." The girl replied, the blue sky becoming a background for the things around it. The cathedral that he mentioned, standing tall and proud below it.
"I'm actually really surprised you don't know about this place. Pablo Picasso, Renoir, Monet, and Degas all had studios here at some point."
Celine's mouth dropped open in shock, the excitement in her making her race to the top. She could barely hold back her reaction.
People she admired, walked the streets. Saw the same views. Breathed the same air, and felt all the same things as her. Jimin quickly caught up to her, only slightly out of breath.
"Holy shit, wait, that's this place? This Montmatre?"
"The one and only."
Jimin placed both of his hands on her shoulders, gently facing her the opposite way of him. The girl almost gasped aloud in shock, the sight before her almost too much to take in.
It was all of Paris.
The top of the large hill, with the beautiful cathedral, overlooked the entire city. Jimin wasn't kidding when he said it.
People, standing in front of her. Leaning on the gate and peering over.
She slowly walked over, feet moving on their own accord. Walking past the gates, past the other people to what seemed like the edge of the world. Felt her body fill with warmth, and unknowing smile spreading across her face. Standing so, so close to the edge. Cushioned by the warm champagne smelling air, above everything. Like a bird, spying on the likeliness of humans, taking in the now tiny buildings and scrolling clouds. The yellow sun casting everything in a beautiful glow.
It was unbelievable. How beautiful this world truly was. And how some people seemed to forget it.
She wanted to spread her arms and fly.
Warm arms wrapped around her waist, making her shiver with chills.
"Do you like it," Spoke Jimin, his soft lips brushing against the shell of her ear.
She sighed, letting herself lean into his hard, but welcoming body.
His chin rested in the crook of her neck. His grip becoming tighter, as she got closer to him. Lips making quick butterfly kisses on her shoulder and back.
Before, she asked herself how she herself perceives love.
And the feeling that she got, peering from the top of the world onto Paris
was the same feeling she got, being held in Jimin's arms.
*****
"Dinner, on top of the Eiffel Tower? How cliché." Celine said, not even believing a word she said as she leaned on the side.
It was a tactic she was trying to use, to calm the nerves she felt. Again, not understanding why she felt so nervous with a man she spent so much time with. But she guessed nothing could really prepare you for Park Jimin.
So she tried to focus.
Looking out past the golden light of the tower, which glowed warm in the dark. So fucking amazed she was up there. Looking down upon everything else. Again, filled with happiness looking down. Each light twinkling like a star in the milk way.
So many people looking up, and not knowing she and Jimin were the only ones there.
She was actually intimidated by how rich Jimin was. Nothing that she had seen before, could could compare to his renting a national monument for the night.
"Celine." Jimin said, coming to stand beside her.
He looked dashing in his suit. Completely black, except the red rose that was pinned to a piece of dark silk in his lapel. A little prince. Silver hair in a deep part, his skin beautifully tanned from earlier in the day. White teeth surrounded by red and plump lips. Eyes little crescents that were competition for the moon. To make sure, Celine looked up at the white moon and surely Jimin was better.
"What? You know I'm just saying that. I love this. I love everything. I love..." She stopped, her voice shaking as he got closer.
But he wasn't looking at her. He couldn't see the desperation painted across her face, or the tight way her hands gripped the cold metal in front of her.
The wind was harsh in the sky, blowing her long curled hair around her body. Making the midnight blue, and sparkly dress press against her. The thick sleeves luckily keeping it up on her shoulders.
"The night sky. It's so beautiful from up here." He said, peering out into the abyss. Not empty, but nothing comparable to the shine in his eyes.
"Yeah, it's pretty amazing."
"If you could have one thing in the world right now, anything, what would it be?" Jimin asked suddenly, turning to her. Licking his lips that had become dry from anxiety.
Looking at the beautiful girl before him like it was the first time.
"I'd bring Mia here one more time." The brunette said, without an ounce of hesitation.
Jimin smiled, looking down at his feet.
Knowing that he would have simply wished for Celine to love him in return.
"You know, you don't give yourself enough credit." The man replied, the smile still in his eyes. Heart swelling for the girl with golden irises.
"For what?" She breathed out, as the man walked closer. Grabbing her small hand and playing with the fingers. Looking down at her with utmost care.
He sighed, smoothing back the hair that kept falling into his eyes.
"Being the most selfless person I know."
Celine shook her head, her own smile of disbelief painting across her lips. Liking the way his skin remained with hers, as their hands weaved together.
"I'm not though. There's Jin. And Yoongi. And then you. You're basically Mother Teresa compared to me." She said, an affectionate tone lilting across her voice.
Jimin burst out into laughter, automatically denying the claim. His humble disposition would never allow it.
"No. I may make big selfless decisions, but it's out of stupidity. And the fear of hurting someone. You though, it's in your heart. It's in every fiber of your being."
"Fuck." Celine said, and loudly. Voice carrying harshly in the night air.
"What?" Jimin asked, more intense as his eyes narrowed in worry.
She shook her head, letting him know it wasn't anything serious.
"Just thank you. I'm starting to sound like a broken record."
"Then don't thank me. Just always be with me." The man said, face scrunching with a small wink.
Her heart pounded, loud enough to fill her ears. Trying to ignore any promise he seemed to make.
When Celine was promised something, it was always broken.
"Okay Jimin." She said, hating how vulnerable she was in that moment.
"Okay Celine." He said, mocking the whispering way she said it. Over dramatically moving towards her, taking her face into his hands.
Celine backed away, swatting at him as she fought to keep the amusement off her face.
"No, no we did not just quote a fault in our stars. That's even more cliché than the venue."
"I think you like it." He said, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek.
She felt the skin there, seeing if it transformed. Littered with electricity as she looked into his eyes. The only thing that changed was the blush that splashed across her cheeks.
He took her hands again, urging her to follow him.
They walked over to the room, in which they would have dinner. Apparently it was suite that people barely knew existed, because only the most rich could get it. And it wasn't Jimin who told her that, it was the server. The man before her kept his head down, almost embarrassed by that fact being let out.
They sat down, Celine facing the large window that showed the city. Jimin right in front of it, a dark angel against the night sky. His brilliant smile as tempting as it was sweet.
"Happy birthday Celine." Jimin said, filling up a glass with some wine. And handing it to her.
She took a sip, trying not to show the happy man before her that there were tears in her eyes.
Everything about this was perfect.
She never wanted it to end.
For a second, everything was less scary. And the prospect of the unknown was welcome.
"Jimin?" She said, the wine filling her with courage.
The candle light flickered across his face, highlighting his jawline and carved eyes.
"Yes?" He said, voice deep.
The girl took a deep breath, feeling her chest cave in.
"You gave me my life back. You gave me my purpose again. You have me a reason to keep going in this sometimes dark world. I'm grateful for you everyday."
He stopped moving. And so had she.
Fates intertwining like a vine. Brought closer and closer by the words they dared to speak.
For a second, Jimin could read her. Could see every emotion she held. And she knew it.
He could see, that her self worth had improved. But improvement on what had been nonexistent held no true worth.
The girl didn't expect people to do things like this for her. Because no one had before. It had nothing to do with money. It was the fact that he cared, that he tried to make her happy.
It was so hard to believe.
"I would do all that and more, over and over again." He said, turning his head to avoid her gaze. He was becoming more and more dazzled by the minute by her.
Her words, her affection. Her admittance to needing him in her life. The man was over the moon.
"You wouldn't change anything?" She asked, because he should of.
They should of.
She should have broken up with Jeongguk.
Jimin should have stayed away from her.
But he shook his head, brown eyes finally staring back at her.
One simple word, igniting the fire between them.
"No." He said, an intensity taking over that made her want to embrace him. Kiss him until their was no world around them.
They were suddenly interrupted, when a song came on over the loud speaker. Their waiter bringing them a huge amount of food.
"Now this is the epitome of cliche." Celine said laughing, as the classic french song started to play.
Jimin laughed, sitting back in the seat. Reaping all he needed, from the way Celine smiled.
It was enough to fill his heart.
******
Getting home was easy enough. Jimin ordered an Uber, not wanting to drive home. They weren't drunk or anything, but he was always careful with that.
He knew how Celine felt in those situations.
They walked into the apartment, giggled and laughs over sweet nothings echoing in the halls.
Jimin went to the kitchen, storing a bottle of wine in the cooler.
Celine lifted herself on the kitchen counter, taking off the heels that had made her legs burn. The world just a little hazy around her.
She could see the beautiful man before her clearly. Watching as he fixed the drinks. Made sure the front door was locked.
Every movement was pretty. Not because she was attracted to him. Because that's just how Jimin was.
Fucking perfect.
He lifted himself up, turning around to face Celine. The low lighting making the sharp and soft touch of his features stand out. His large, round lips delicately lifted at the corners.
The girl leaned forward, reaching out for him. She pulled on his waist, so that he was between her legs. His hands rested on either side of her.
She placed her hands on his face, feeling the soft skin. Watching his eyes darken at their proximity. They stayed that way for a little, just teasing each other. Denying the inevitable, of their lips meeting.
He tilted his head to the side, his lowers lip brushing against hers. She captured it in her own, sucking the soft skin.
What had been sweet, had turned sultry. Jimin couldn't stand her large eyes staring at him anymore, or the way her dress barely covered her body. He pressed into her completely, holding the small of her back and making her arch. Jimin watched in delight as Celine breath caught, before he closed the distance.
You are the most beautiful thing in the world.
They kissed, becoming drunk off each others wine stained lips. Something lit up inside the girl, forcing her to pull Jimin even harder against her. The two grinding together softly, full of unsaid emotions. He moaned in the back of his throat, her hands pulling at his silver hair. His soft lips felt like heaven against hers, moving like silk The heat burning her mouth, making her ache for more as his tongue slid across her bottom lip. It felt animalistic, hungry for each other. For what they could, and couldn't do.
Neither had felt like this before. Unable to stop, the thirst building between them.
Celine was irresistible to Jimin, just like he was to her.
The man lifted to girl, lips remaining on her as he carried her to the bedroom. She felt like she was floating on clouds, in his strong arms.
Jimin stopped, as they made it. Laying her gently on the bed.
Celine started to undo his tie, but he stopped her quick hands, and held them within his. Her urgency melted away, as she saw the sweet look in his eyes. The seriousness of his body.
This time, he wanted it to be special.
No lust, no seduction. Just everything he felt for her, in the most intimate way you could be with another human being.
There was a difference this time.
He wanted it.
And she could feel it.
He spoke the words, with an expression that spoke of pain and desire.
He was in pain, he was wanton. He was helplessly devoted to someone who loved another.
Who was never his to begin with.
A person he had bought, who he had dehumanized.
Celine had asked him what he would have changed, and this was it.
"I bought you for a night, but I want to earn you everyday."
The weight of the words, falling like rose petals between them.
"Jimin." She said, pink lips wrapping beautifully around his names. He swore his heart could burst, as he looked down at her.
Brown hair laid across the white sheets, a deity in her own right. Beautiful amber eyes like a golden sea, swimming with unspoken tears that he would sail along all day. Pretty chest rising and falling, lips swollen from being entwined with his for so long.
I want you so badly.
"Shhh, baby. Let me take care of you." Jimin said, whispering in a gentle manner. Wiping away the tear she had shed. His touch so full of care and devotion, it broke the wall between them.
And he did.
Moving slower, and softer than ever before. Every touch feeling that of a downy feather. Leaning over her, his silver necklace dangling down and kissing her lips. His hands brushing the soft hairs out of her face, taking in her angelic beauty and innocent smile.
Only half of his body weight stayed on her, as he hovered above. Face relaxed, eyebrows furrowed, lips caressed with a pink ribbon of a smile.
His eyes looked upon her, tracing every feature like she was a masterpiece. Dark starry night eyes full of something other than lust, but just as powerful.
"Celine, Celine, Celine. Just what did I do to deserve this moment with you?"
Jimin leaned down, kissing away the tears with a soft press of his lips. Continued to press soft, and flush kisses across every part of her face. Savoring the moment like melting honey and tea.
With the bright pink glow across her face, and the warmth between them, this moment was like any other.
They slowly worked their clothes off, not wanting to rush anything. The quiet appreciation enough for them.
Celine sighed, as his now completely uncovered body pressed against her. The pair fit like a puzzle piece, locking together. Jimin continued to kiss her, rubbing up and down her sides. He kissed everywhere on her body. Her chest, her stomach, her thighs.
He wanted to show he appreciated every single piece of her.
Celine wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing him as close as flesh could allow.
She wanted them to melt together. To become bone, and get rid of flesh. To be air, so that could be as close as possible.
Jimin pulled away, his eye lashes fluttering as he breathed harshly.
"Are you ready, darling?" He asked, beautiful lips plump and trembling.
It was almost painful at this point, for the both of them. The need they felt for each other, was aching and dangerous.
Celine looked up, eyes hazy. The girl nodded her head. Not answering, because she wanted his lips back on her as soon as possible.
He smiled, as she pulled him back down, interlocking their mouths again. They moved languidly, unyielding. Wanting to stay pressed together forever and ever, addicted to the feeling and taste.
Celine only broke apart, to moan when he entered her. He stayed close, chest pressed against hers. Lips grazing upon each other, meeting after every thrust.
Eyes never leaving each other. Each not daring to say what was on their mind. Just a mixture of golden and oak, energy flowing and ebbing like that of the ocean.
It was not a doubt. It was not questionable.
The feelings they had for each other.
Their lips locked, as they saw stars together.
Celine pulled away first, moving the silver hair from Jimin's tired eyes. Looking at the beautiful boy in awe.
"You can't be real." She said, tracing along the straight line of his nose.
"You're an angel." Replied the man, just as breathless. Just as stuck in wonderment as she.
The man nuzzled into her chest, reveling in her vanilla and rose scent.
They talked, for hours.
Jimin wrapping himself around the girl as they lilted asleep. Fingers tracing up and down her spine as she giggled, nothing but their voices were important. He pressed kisses along her cheeks, pulled her so that she was constantly touching him.
But then it stopped. And his soft touches became nothing but the feel of his stationary arm pulling her close to him. Hugging onto her for dear life even in sleep.
She made sure he was completely asleep. Sitting up, and checking. Watching the slow way, his chest rose and fell. His ink black eyelashes sprawling against his cheeks. Little lips poured out like a child's.
"I love you." Celine said aloud.
She waited, for him to spring out of bed. For some sort of god to strike her with lightening.
But nothing changed.
And she was able to sleep without nightmares for the first time in a year.
