Chapter 8

"No one is so brave that he is not disturbed
by something unexpected."
~ Julius Caesar

Saturday. The day Kabe hated the most.

"Got to do groceries, wash my clothes, clean my house… ugh! Can't a man just sleep in on Saturday!" Kabe wailed while rolling in bed.

BUFFF!

"AHHH!!"

He got up from the ground rubbing his back vigorously.

"Talk about falling out of bed," he grumbled to himself.

He started heading towards his door to head to the kitchen but then fell flat on his face from tripping on the sheet around his feet.

"Great! I think I'll just stay here for the day," he said lying face down on the ground. He looked up at his closed door.

LAZY CLUMSY OAFA post - it note read.

"You have got to be kidding me Carter !" Kabe groaned.

He pushed himself off the ground and continued on his journey to the kitchen. He quickly made some breakfast then showered and headed out the door to do some shopping.

"Hey Liz," Kabe started on his phone when she had picked up.

"No I'm not doing shopping with you," she deadpanned through the speakers phone.

"Oh come on man…"

"Na a, stop right there, I'm not a man for your info," she interrupted him.

"Lizzzy…"

"Grow up dude, you're twenty-one for Pete's sake and you still need mummy to do the shopping for you," Lizzy mocked him, "Don't thing I have a life too dad? I've got places to go, friends to meet up with and pretty much want to live my life before I turn grumpy as you," she continued to mock him.

"Hey watch it!" Kabe shouted through his window.

"Driving and talking on the phone… again," Lizzy said as if expecting nothing less.

"No I'm not," he defended himself.

"BEEEEEEEP!!!"

"Doesn't sound so though unless you are some how walking so fast that so much breeze is blowing through your phone and doing so in the middle of the road."

"Whatever. I hate you!"

"Love you too. Bye!" she chirped while giggling.

"Wait!"

Instead he got a dead line.

"Uggh!! Girls and their lives!"

♠♠♠

After going through the different supermarkets in the mall Kabe headed over to the food court and ordered fried chicken and fries.

He took a seat next to a couple who were sitting beside each other.

"DING!"

Kabe took his phone out to see who had just text him.

Ryan: where u @

Kabe: mall happily shopping my brain away :|

Ryan: i can feel ur excitement bro *thumbs up*

Kabe: :X

Ryan: meet me at the cafè 2morrow

Kabe: for wht exactly

Ryan: tht's y we're mtng

"Sam… I… no… please…"

Kabe looked up from his cell at the name Sam. He looked across from where he was sitting towards the couple. He then stifled the gasp that left his mouth and morphed into a cough.

"How in the world," he muttered to his phone as if shocked at something he saw on it.

The couple got up from their seats and headed towards the exist of the mall. After quick decision he decided to trail them - Chantal and Sam.

They dipped in and out of the New York rush of people but Kabe kept hot on their heels always looking behind him when either of them turned their heads behind them.

They ended up walking behind the busy areas and headed to what looked like an in between residential area. Kabe careful enough to keep a 'non-stalking' distance behind them. Before he knew it he heard the slam of a door and looked just in time to see that Chantal and the man she was with, had been the ones to disappear inside the house.

The house didn't even look much like a house to begin with. It looked more like someone had forgot that the building was there and never tried to freshen up the fading stripping paint on the walls or even cut the grass around the house.

While Kabe stood on the opposite side of the road an elderly man walked passed him.

"Ah, excuse me sir," Kabe started.

"Yes sonny," the man stopped.

"Who lives in that house across the road?" he asked pointing his head towards the neglected building.

To his surprise the man laughed at his question.

"What is it sir?" he asked with a puzzled expression.

After sobering up the man answered.

"That's where youngsters like you go have fun," he smiled.

"Fun? In a place like that?" he asked even more puzzled.

"It's the knock shop."

"The what?" he questioned scrunching his face.

"Don't pretend you don't know what I mean," the man replied and patted his shoulder then walked off.

Kabe looked at the man as he walked off and shook his head.

He took out his phone and snapped a picture of the house then texted Ryan.

Kabe: meet me @ the cafe in 10 now

Dun dunnnn!!!! CLIFF HANGER!! Or is it one 😕 *shrugs* well if it isn't one I left you all curious nonetheless.

So yes this is the promised chapter that almost didn't make it to the internet this week.

Why didn't someone tell me the first week of pre-university was hell on earth!?

If there is going to be another chapter next week is something I can't confirm but let's  all pray that there will be one 'cause this was a nasty way to leave you all. If I do not have a chapter up I think I'll have withdrawal symptoms of not writing.

What do you guys think about this chapter? Someone please tell me what exactly is going on in this chapter!

At this rate I think my end not is longer than today's/night's chapter but whether you like/loved the chapter (or extremely long a/n [which I don't edit]) PLEASE PLEASE don't forget to…
