Chapter 18
“ They can take my heart,
They can take my breathe,
When they pry it from my cold, dead chest,
This is how we rise up!
Heavy as a hurricane, louder than a freight train!
…It's our resistance
You can't resist us! ”
~ The Resistance by Skillet
"You're so stupid Kabe! That was a clear shot and yet somehow you manage to miss!" Robert shouted at Kabe.
"I told you already I wasn't good at this so stop rubbing it in," Kabe grumbled.
"Yeah but the point of a penalty shot is so dumb players, like you can have a chance of scoring at least one goal," Robert continued enjoying taunting Kabe.
"Dude, what in I'm not good at this don't you understand. You know what I believe?"
"What?"
"They made this game so people like you can feel good about yourself because you can't play soccer in real life," Kabe smirked knowing he definitely hit a spot.
"No don't even-" Robert stopped mid sentence his fingers stilling on the control.
"Did you hear that?" he questioned Kabe in a low tone.
Kabe stopped playing also and looked over to him, "No… what did you hear?"
"Like a grunt. There is the sound again."
They both pushed themselves up off the ground and ran upstairs from the basement.
They both skid to a halt to see Chantal having a lady in a choke hold and Lizzy with a rope wrapping around the lady's ankles.
"Liz! Chantal! What are you doing!" Kabe shouted at them.
Chantal kept her hold on the lady as she turned around to answer Kabe, "Tying up an intruder."
Kabe walked towards them, "Just stop! That's the make - up artist!"
"Seriously!" Lizzy exclaimed stopping and looking up at Kabe.
"Yes! Let her go and untie her feet!" Kabe ordered.
"So why didn't you tell me she was here?" Lizzy asked after untying her.
"I didn't know she was here," Kabe answered.
"It's your house, how would you not know?" Lizzy asked.
"She has the key to my house! So she just let's herself in when she comes over."
"What? Why does she have a key to your house?" Lizzy asked raising an eyebrow, suspicious of Kabe.
Kabe glanced at the make - up artist who was sipping a glass of water Chantal had brought for her. She stood and watched the exchange as if she was just a random passer - by stopping to watch a lover's spat.
"It's a long story," Kabe brushed off.
"Well I got all the time in the world," Lizzy said as she crossed her arms.
"Ahem! Actually we don't, so… you don't either," Robert interrupted.
Lizzy turned and gave Robert the stink eye.
"We really don't. You have to learn how to put on your disguise make up yourself," Robert justified.
After a tense moment of silence Kabe spoke.
"Brenda, this is Chantal and my friend Lizzy," Kabe introduced them, "Chantal and Lizzy, this is Brenda, mine and one of FBI's make - up artist."
"Hi guys at least you know how to defend yourself. You know what they say dream work makes the team work," Brenda greeted them.
"That's not how the quote goes," Robert commented.
"Hold up! You do that thing too!" Lizzy asked shocked.
"What thing?" Chantal asked.
"Twisting quotes making them sound right but they're so wrong!" Lizzy shouted from excitement, "I think I found me a new bestie!"

Its lunch time. Chantal makes a comment about Lizzy's face looking like an over ripe tomato which leads to showing the transformation of her face.
Chantal stands looking at the food sitting in the fridge. Robert had called a break so everyone could eat and take a refresher.
"I don't think I remember how to make a sandwich," Chantal mumbled to herself.
"What are you doing?"
Chantal turned to see Lizzy entering the kitchen.
"Am… going to make food," she blew a breathe out, "This is going to sound silly, but, can you make me a sandwich? I can't remember how to."
"Pssh! Sure! It's the only thing I can make!" Lizzy skipped over to the counter and Chantal watched as she placed different layers of food on a slice of bread.
"It has to be whole wheat bread and put lots of vegetable," Chantal told her.
Lizzy raised her eyebrow, "What are doing? You don't need to be on a diet."
"Oh no that's what Robert said I should have to you know, regain strength."
After a few seconds of watching and waiting, the sandwich was finished.
"Here you go. One ham sandwich with loads of vege," then she poured a glass of orange juice, "and a glass of one - hundred percent orange juice!"
"Thanks," Chantal thanked her laughing at her antics.
"I hope they don't treat you badly," Chantal shared her worries with Lizzy.
"Don't worry about me Chan, I'll be alright. Besides I signed up for this so I'll take every thing that comes with it."
"I just hope they don't change their mind and put you with us. I don't want you to end up like me."
"Stop worrying. Relax, everything will be okay."
Chantal sighed and looked up from her sandwich, "You remind me so much of myself when I was younger. I was always happy, cheery and couldn't stay one place for too long. I'd always be hopping about," a faint nostalgic smile ghosted Chantal's lips, "I remember promising my grandpa that I'd never let anything or anyone take my smile away or my free spirit but I broke it. I broke my promise to him."

"Okay so remember keep this glasses on at all times when you're there," Brenda says reminding Lizzy about things for her disguise, "and when your reading any documents put your finger on your temple so the glasses can sense that you want to take pics and if you want to video rub your nose bridge. Got that?"
"Yeah, I remember everything," Lizzy said nodding her hands on her waist akimbo.
"Okay everyone are you ready?" Kabe asks and looks at each of them as they nod in the affirmative.
"Remember if communication breaks come in as a client Robert," Kabe says as he and Lizzy along with Chantal walk to the door.
"Hopefully it does not come down to that," Robert says in a somber voice.
Kabe stopped and turned to him and placed a hand on his shoulder squeezing it, "I hope so too."
After a farewell and a fifteen minute drive they arrived.
Kabe turns and looked in the backseat of the car at Chantal, "I just want to say from now that if I do anything to hurt you, I'm very sorry."
Chantal sniffed, "It's okay. We have to do this we can't fail, we can not be caught," she said as a tear rolled down her face.
Before Kabe realised what he was doing he swiped the tear from off her cheek. Chantal stilled in reaction and stared at Kabe.
"I'm sorry," Kabe whispered.
Chantal nodded but she was not sure if he was still apologising or of he was saying sorry for touching her. Before she could even think about it anymore she felt herself being dragged out of the car.
She struggled until she felt her feet hit the pavement. She looked up and saw that it was Kabe. He gave her a tug that was gentle but he tensed his hands to make it look like he was being rough.
"Come on! You too!" he shouted at Lizzy.
He dragged them both up to the door and knocked on it.
"Well I guess Bob won't be paying for dinner tonight!" a man at the door with a British accent said, "or should we even be calling you Bob?" the British man taunted.
Sam then came in the door way, "You bafoon! Let them in and stop acting so uncivilized with our guests!"
He stepped aside and let them in.
"Ah lookie here! My favourite has returned!" Sam said running his hands down Chantal's shoulders and arms, "You have a lot to make up for. Go up to your room."
Chantal with her head down quickly ran up the stairs to her room.
"Now who do we have here?" Sam questioned staring at Lizzy.
"This is Roxanne," Kabe answered, "I remember you saying you need a secretary."
"I like her," Sam said after a moment of scrutinising her, "We can use her for other things than just paperwork," he said standing very close behind her.
He grabbed on to her waist and pulled her close to him, "How does that sound Rox?" he whispered in her ear.
"If you want your files to, I dunno… disappear? Then sure, but I don't know how strong the north breeze blows," Lizzy whispered back to him.
"I'll take her, she'll work good with George with his stupid accident and strange riddles."
Sam looked down on his watch, "Well I guess no one will be buying dinner tonight. This way," he said directing both 'Bob' and 'Roxanne'.
After settling in the 'conference room' which was just the living area organised with chairs in a circle, Sam called the meeting to order.
"So the first thing we need to discuss is the disappearance of Monte Carlo and his sudden reappearance as the new recruit Bob," Sam said causing all eyes to turn towards Kabe.
"Care to explain for us Monte or do you want to pay for dinner?" Sam questioned staring straight into his eyes challengingly.
I'm very sorry for the long wait but I had no idea how I should end the chapter.
So who do you think is Monte Carlo?
Is Kabe really who he says he is? And does he have multiple identities?
