3rd Person Pov

Clint closes the conference door behind him, "She's out of the Tower right?"

"She's at SHIELD, wanna tell us why we're having a meeting behind my daughter's back?" Bruce inquires.

Clint reveals a worn folder, the folder that Emily was hiding in the vents. "She's been keeping secrets. Like super big secrets, for example, her birthday is next week. It's all in here."

Natasha speaks first, "She's entitled to a few secrets, Clint."

"Like the fact she was affiliated with Hydra?" Clint retorts.

" Hydra?" Steve echoes in disbelief.

Tony shakes his head, "But she took down Hydra bases. Hill confirmed that."

"Doesn't mean she couldn't have worked with Hydra at some point, " Clint counters.

"You make it sound as if she had a choice, " Natasha refutes, "She was forced to do those things. Brainwashed even."

Bruce finally speaks after taking everything in, "You're saying she did those things without knowing it."

"I'd bet on it," Natasha firmly states. "Classic Red Room trick."

Steve looks up from the file he was reading, "How about these names?"

"Those...look like the ones she mutters in her sleep, "Bruce comments after studying them.

Tony glances at the names, "That's the Project Insight List. She mutters strangers' names in her sleep?"

"I think it would be wise to let her tell us in her own time, " Thor suggests, "If she truly doesn't remember then she needs to learn by herself."

"She should trust us enough to help her, " Steve protests.

Natasha sighs, "Truth of the matter is that her first instinct is to keep secrets, it's how she was raised. There's no changing that. She's been lied to, manipulated, and controlled."

"Are you speaking from experience?" Tony inquires.

"All I'm saying is that she wants to feel in control and we should allow her that," Natasha reasons."The fact that Clint even found this, will tell her that we don't trust her which is the last thing she needs to feel. What she needs is for us to treat her like a normal kid."

Everyone is silent after she says this so Tony coughs awkwardly, "I think we've missed the big point here, which is that we have a party to plan."

"No, I think you mean Bruce has a party to plan, " Clint corrects.

Bruce's eyes widen, "You can't expect me to plan a party by myself."

"Well, I mean, you have a while to get everything together, " Natasha teases.

"How am I supposed to do this?" Bruce complains.

Tony shrugs, "Struggles of being a single dad."

"I thought the point of living here was that I didn't have to do this alone, He points out.

Thor pats Bruce on the back sympathetically, "I'm sure that her first ever celebration of birth which will most likely definitely define all her future celebrations is safe in your capable hands."

"No pressure, huh?" Bruce mutters.

"Yeah, good luck, "Tony compliments. "I'm sure a man with 7 PhDs can plan a teenager girl's first birthday."

He glares as they all begin to file out, "Thanks for all your helpful advice. Truly grateful."

Skye shows me all the different work she did as a Rising Tide hacker. It's pretty impressive, it's good to know that she isn't a complete girl scout. She also doesn't seem to be bothered too much by my past, which is a nice bonus. But Coulson still doesn't trust me and that can be annoying. I can't blame him though.

I've also gotten to see Skye's powers in action, she still isn't very good at controlling them, just like I was. From what I can tell,  we definitely got our powers the same way which is a whole other mystery in itself. At this point, I've stopped stressing over every little mystery that comes my way.

Jemma and Fitz are really nice too, I can tell how much they love each other. They love each other so much, it hurts for them to look at each other when they're not together. Maybe one day, I can have a sliver of that.

Everyone else is pretty nice too, I get a few odd looks but that's only to be expected. I can't expect everyone to forgive me I guess.

Skye and I have been talking about how crazy and strange our lives have been. Our family is anything but normal, that's for sure.

"I honestly can't imagine a little girl beating up Coulson," Skye laughs.

"I can't believe Fury isn't here to lock me up, that guy hates my guts. I would've liked to see his face when I showed up."

Her eyes glisten with humor as she laughs, "Yeah, it takes serious balls to touch Lola."

"You should've seen Coulson's face, it was like I had stolen his trading cards."

She sighs a little, "Is living with the Avengers as cool as it seems?"

I  shrug, "There's never a dull day. One time, Clint dyed Tony's hair ginger and that resulted in a prank war. It ended with the police stopping by."

"Your life is so cool," Skye gushes. "What happens when you get angry? Do you go green?"

"No, I do not. When I'm angry I just hide in my room and play my music super loudly," I answer jokingly.

"Sorry, this has been bothering me for a while, what's up with the shades?"

I subconsciously adjust my sunglasses, " Well, you could say I have a sensitivity to light."

"Oh. That's kind of weird, " She bluntly tells me.

I stick my tongue out, "You're kind of weird."

Before she can respond, Bobbi intrudes, "Sorry to interrupt but Fitz wants to talk to Emily."

I stand and brush off my clothes, "Oh okay."

"This way," Bobbi holds the door open for me, I wave a quick goodbye to Skye and follow Bobbi down the hall.

"I hope you didn't get the wrong expression when I was interrogating you," She comments as we walk together

"You were doing your job," I dismiss. "As I told you, I dislike people trying to manipulate me."

She sniffs, "Fair enough."

"Do you know why Fitz wants to talk to me?" I ask, changing the topic.

Bobbi shakes her head, "Just that he wants to talk to you alone."

"You know," I start. "I think you'd like Clint."

"Not my type." She stops in front of the glass lab door. "Here you are."

I nod to her as I step in alone. Fitz is distracted by a computer, I bounce on my toes, waiting for him to notice me.

After a while, I cough to get his attention, "Fitz?"

He whips around startled," You- You scared the-um...the daylights out of me."

"I didn't mean to," I apologize. "You wanted to talk to me?"

"Yes-uh, I have a theory," He explains. "That you have the the-um same alien gene that S-Skye has."

My eyes narrow as I try to find a way out of this, "If I did then my dad would have to have it too and he doesn't."

"Unless your mom had it," he points.

I cringe at the mention of her, "If she had it, she would've known and my life would've been a lot bloodier."

"Mr. Stark said that y-you have abilities."

I make a mental note to kill Tony. "I do but I was never in an underground temple."

"W-well knowing how you obtained-"

"It's really not a subject I'm comfortable discussing," I cut him off.

"It could help with Skye's condition."

I shake my head, "I'm sorry but I really can't talk about it."

"I understand," He sighs in resignation.

I leave him and head to the loading bay where Tony is waiting for me. "Hey kiddo, how was your visit?"

"It was good," I tell him as I climb into his car.

"How do you feel about big parties?" Tony randomly asks.

I answer without hesitation, "Death with streamers."

"You always say the nicest things," He mumbles as we drive away.

***

"Can we go to Disney World?" I ask out loud with Chinese noodles in my mouth.

"No," Everyone responds at the same time.

My eyebrows knit together, "Why not?"

"We're banned for life," Natasha vaguely explains.

"Disney land?" I ask hopefully.

Dad shakes his head, "Banned too."

"Universal?"

"Banned," Steve confirms.

I tilt my head curiously, "How?... Just how?"

"Ask Tony," Clint accuses.

"It wasn't my fault. It was Steve's," Tony pushes back.

Steve glares at Tony, "If it was anyone's fault it was Thor's."

"Getting banned from the World of Disney was indeed Stark's doing," Thor reciprocates

"Bruce, back me up," Tony requests.

"I remember Clint being a big part of it," Dad remarks.

I groan, "Nat, can you clear any of this up?"

"I was getting food each time these idiots got in trouble," She explains.

The men continue to bicker over who got them banned and I just slump down. Earth's Mightiest Heroes...are banned from theme parks.

"-it was classified a level 5 disaster!"

"Peter Pan basically told me to!"

I laugh to myself as they keep fighting.   I don't know what I would do if I didn't have these morons around.
