Childhood Fading
We sat there
In the same playground we always played in
I tried to smile
But it didn't feel the same
The place of our never ending games
Our cheerful screams and laughter
Was now a dump
The trees are dead now
The birds aren't singing
The playground is dirty and rusty
She looked at me with worry
I didn't know what I was feeling
But it just looks like the only things I could remember to make me happy are dieing slowly with me.
