Chapter 10

2 days later...

At Ming University....

Xiali's POV..

I'm sitting in class as I listen to the lecture with two empty seats beside me, which I had saved for both Ten and Ningning. Ten is outside having a phone call with Kun, and as for Ningning I haven't seen her in the past few days. Even her phone isn't active. It's weird because it feels like she just disappeares out of the sight. I hope she's ok.

Just as I was listening to the lecture, a guy who I am not familiar with suddenly approaches me. I turn my head to see the guy. He is quite tall with big eyes, and is wearing a blue t-shirt along with some black jeans and white sneakers. I guess that he could be one of the new students that the girls were talking about earlier.

"Hello! Is anybody sitting here?" the guy ask.

"No," I say casually.

Hearing that, the guy takes a seat beside me, in which I didn't really mind. The guy turns his head and smiles at me, but I choose to not focus on him and just focus with today's lesson.

"So, I didn't quite catch your name before," says the guy as he turns his head to look at me. "I'm Lucas."

I turn my head to see him smiling at my direction. "I'm Xiali. Nice to meet you," I say casually, though I was just trying to sound polite to a new student.

"Xiali, it's a pleasure to meet you," Lucas says as he shakes my hand with a smile. I smile back at him. I guess he seems pretty nice.

Just then, Ten walks back to class and approaches me. He looks at Lucas for a moment with a questioned look, before turning his gaze back to me.

"Ten, here!" I say as I signal Ten to sit beside me on my left, since Lucas is sitting on my right side.

Ten walks to sit at my left. Through out class, Lucas would randomly ask me some questions, though I think he's only trying to be friendly. I notice Ten had been glancing at Lucas every now and then with an irritated look. It seems like he doesn't like him.

"So you live around here?" ask Lucas.

"Not far. And you?" I ask.

"Not too far," Lucas says.

A few hours later..

At the cafeteria...

Xiali and Ten are having lunch together at the cafeteria. Ten invites Xiali for a movie night tonight since he didn't want to be bored alone in the house, though deep inside it wasn't just that he didn't want to be lonely, yet he just wants to spend some time with Xiali.

"So are you in?" Ten ask.

"Sure," says Xiali. "I can't wait to see you scream at the screen."

"It's not gonna be a horror movie though," says Ten with a smirk on his face.

"Really? So what kind of movie is it?" Xiali ask with curiousity.

"Romance," Ten says before he lets out a flirty smile.

Xiali rolls her eyes after hearing his statement. "Man, I didn't know you were romantic."

"You still have a lot of things to know about me that you haven't figure out," Ten says, before he continues with his lunch.

"Are you trying to be mysterious?" Xiali ask.

"Maybe," says Ten with a small laugh.

Xiali lets out an awkward smile before she continues with her lunch.

"So....you met the new students?" Ten ask.

"Only Lucas though. I haven't met his brother yet," say Xiali. "Why? Are you jealous?" Xiali adds as she attemps to tease him.

"No. Why would I be jealous?" says Ten as he refuse to have eye contact with Xiali at this point. "I just wanted to make sure you're talking with the right people, and that you are safe."

"Well, I don't think he's a dangerous guy. He seems to be pretty nice," Xiali says.

"Well, for now, he looks decent. We still have to keep an eye on our surroundings," Ten says.

"Are you kinda jealous that I was talking with him in class?" Xiali ask as she tries to tease him again.

"Ah, why would I be jealous?" ask Ten as he sounds a little frustrated. "I am not."

"I caught you glancing at him a few times during class," says Xiali with a smirk.

"Ah, I was just trying to make sure that he doesn't do anything bad to you," Ten says.

"Well, he doesn't have a gun, or a knife. For now, at least he doesn't look scary," Xiali says.

"Hopefully," Ten says.

Just then, Xiali and Ten notice that Lucas is walking to their table along with his brother, Hendery. The whole cafeteria start staring at the brothers, and some girls even start to call out their names and blow air kisses at them.

"Hey there, I'm guessing you must be Xiali," says Hendery with a cheerful smile. "I'm Hendery."

"Hi! Yes, I'm Xiali. And this is my friend, Ten," Xiali says with a smile.

"Hello!" Ten says casually as his vision continues to stare at Lucas.

"Nice to meet you! By the way, would you guys mind if Hendery and join your table?" Lucas says.

Xiali glance at Ten and saw that he doesn't look irritated with idea. "Sure," Xiali says.

"Awesome," says Hendery as he puts his tray of lunch on the table.

Xiali and Ten continues their lunch along with Lucas and Hendery. Xiali starts to get to know Lucas and Hendery more, while Ten just joins in the conversation though deep inside he still doesn't seem to trust Lucas or Hendery.

6 PM....

Seoul, South Korea...

At Taeyong and Yeri's wedding...

"Now let us welcome our lovely newlyweds, Lee Taeyong and Kim Yerim!" says the host of the party, Johnny, who is also friends with Taeyong and the rest of the boys.

Taeyong and Yeri walks down the aisle as all the guests starts cheering for them. The happy couple stops in their steps as they reach the middle of the dance floor.

"Ah I can feel it already that love is in the air! Now let's give the first dance of the night to the happy couple," says Johnny. "Music start!" Johnny adds.

The music starts as Taeyong and Yeri shares their first dance together as a married couple. They couldn't stop smiling at each other through out the whole dance, as everyone watch them in awe.

"They look so happy," Yangyang says as he couldn't keep his eyes off Taeyong and Yeri dancing.

Looking at how happy Taeyong is with Yeri, reminds Yangyang of how happy he was spending time with Xiali. Though they've only met a few times after 12 years, yet it feels like time hasn't fly for both of them. He wants to cherish every moment with her. Because if there was one thing he knew for sure, he didn't want to lose her again.

"Yeah," says Mark who's eyes are fill with happy tears at the sight of his older brother now married.

"Man, get a drink, Hyung! You can't worry Taeyong hyung on his wedding day with your immature tears," Jeno says, who is Mark's younger brother, and Taeyong's youngest brother.

"I'm crying happy tears, Jeno!" Mark says with an attitude as he starts wiping his tears.

Yangyang smiles at the sight of Mark's funny attitude, before he turns his head to continue watching Taeyong and Yeri dancing together beautifully.

"Yangyang?"

A familiar female voice caught Yangyang's attention. He turns his head to see a familiar girl with long brown hair walking towards him, followed by two other girls and a guy.

"Karina!" Yangyang says as he smiles at Karina and her three friends, Winter, Giselle and Taeil, who are also members of Taeyong's gang along with the other guys.

"I didn't see you the last time I heard you were in Seoul," says Taeil with a smile.

"It was a quick trip," Yangyang states.

"And we actually thought we saw Mark crying then," Giselle says, before she burst into giggles.

"Hey! Can you guys please not mock my tears for a day?" says Mark sarcastically.

"You just admit that you have tears though," says Karina as she tries to hold her laugh.

"Ok, I think we had enough jokes. Sorry, Mark oppa!" Winter says.

"Thanks, Winter," Mark says. "I'm gonna get a watermelon juice now." Mark starts walking away to get hinself a glass of his favorite drink.

As the music comes to an end, Taeyong spins Yeri around before catching her in his arms and planting a kiss on her lips, making the whole crowd cheer for them.

"So...how are you guys lately?" ask Yangyang.

"Good," says Karina. "Nothing much though."

"I see. By the way, where's Yuta?" ask Yangyang.

"Umm..he's talking with some friends over there," Winter says in a low tone as she starts to glance at Karina who suddenly looks uncomfortable, while Giselle, Taeil and Yangyang just looks confuse at the situation.

Hearing that, Karina tries her best to form a smile on her face to hide how uncomfortable she's truly feeling. "Excuse me. I'm gonna get a drink," Karina says. She starts to walk away to get a drink.

"Umm..is something wrong?" ask Yangyang as he starts to question if he had asked anything offensive that Karina had walked away.

"Karina and Yuta broke up," says Winter, which makes Giselle, Yangyang, and Taeil all surprise.

"What?" ask Yangyang in disbelief as he suddenly feels guilty for asking about his friend Yuta in front of Karina. He thought they were still dating. "What happened?" Yangyang adds.

"A week after they agreed to start dating, Yuta went on a mission to Tokyo which could last for months. At first they thought about having a long-distance relationship, but due to their busy schedules and lack of time, they couldn't meet each other often, and eventually they got trust issues and argued. That's when they decided to end things, but thought about remaining friends," Winter says.

"I see..and Yuta is here?" ask Yangyang.

"Why aren't they talking together again when they agreed to remain friends?" ask Giselle with a curious tone.

"Yuta is with his new girlfriend, Momo," Winter states.

Hearing this, Yangyang feels pity for Karina and also guilty that he had accidentally kind of hurt her feelings. He thought about checking up on her.

"Excuse me," Yangyang says as he walks away, leaving Winter, Giselle, and Taeil in confusion.

"I wonder where he's going," says Giselle.

"Probably to check on the girl," says Taeil.

Yangyang walks pass the crowd, as the music starts playing again and everyone starts to dance together. Yangyang sees Karina standing in the corner of the massive ballroom while holding a glass of champagne, looking all elegant in a strapless violet dress complete with black heels. He approaches her slowly as he sees that she has her vision focus on the crowd of dancing people.

"Hi!" Yangyang says.

Karina turns her head to see Yangyang. She gives him a small smile. "You're not dancing?" ask Karina with an elegant tone.

"No. I just got a drink," says Yangyang as he takes a sip of his red wine slowly.

"Some say that people dance better when they are a bit tipsy," Karina says, before she takes a sip of her champagne.

Yangyang turns his head to see Karina. "I suppose so," says Yangyang. "Karina, I..."

"It's ok. I'm totally over it," says Karina. "Don't feel sorry for me," Karina adds as she tries to hide the amount of emotions she's feeling.

"Karina, I'm so.."

"Please, I know exactly what you're about to say. It's not your fault. Please, we don't have to talk about it," says Karina as she tries harder to hold her tears with her stern voice.

Yangyang notice that Karina is about to burst into tears in any second. He walks to stand in front of her, covering her figure from the crowd of people dancing. He didn't want people to see her tears especially knowing that he was the one who cause it. He feels too guilty. Yangyang puts his glass of wine on the table beside them, and holds Karina's hand.

"If you don't want me to talk about it, I won't," says Yangyang. "But let me just say, that everything's gonna be ok."
He's trying to calm her down at this point by trying to give her some positive words.

Karina stares into Yangyang's eyes as the two get into eye contact. She takes a deep breath looking at Yangyang. She didn't mean to make him worry at the thought that his words made her felt offended. Deep down she knew Yangyang didn't mean to offend her. She had known him quite well since he's good friends with her cousin, Taeyong. Yet she is still trying to accept reality as it is that she and Yuta are no longer together, and that he had moved on faster than she thought.

Karina lets out a sigh. "Sorry for all that drama," says Karina. "I'm still a mess," Karina adds. She's begining to feel uncomfortable for making Yangyang worried earlier.

"It's ok. Take your time and know that it's ok to feel messed up at times," says Yangyang in the most comforting tone.

Without any words, Karina pulls Yangyang into a hug. Yangyang is surprised, but decides to just comfort her since he knew she needed it at this point. For a moment, hugging Karina reminds him of Xiali in a way. Yangyang thought, maybe it's because the two girls have similiar heights, or maybe he's been thinking about Xiali for some times now.

"Yangyang, would you like to dance with me?" ask Karina as she still has her arms wrapped around Yangyang.

Yangyang hesitates to answer for a second, before Karina pulls back from the hug and stare into his eyes. He thought for a moment if he should dance with her, knowing that it'll be awkward if Yuta sees them.

"Karina...wouldn't it be awkward if people see us?" ask Yangyang.

"Why would we need to care about that? Just for tonight. Besides, I want to make Yuta jealous knowing that I'm dancing with one of his friends," says Karina with a small smile

Well, that's a smart idea. Though I kinda feel awkward dancing with Karina in front of Yuta. Yangyang thought.

"What do you say?" ask Karina as she stares into Yangyang's eyes with hopes.

Yangyang lets out a sigh. He isn't the type of person who enjoys getting involve in possible dramas. Yet, looking at Karina's hopeful eyes made him think twice.

"Ok, Karina," says Yangyang. "Then may I have this dance?" Yangyang lets out his hand as he is ready to dance the night away with her.

"You may," says Karina as she takes Yangyang's hand, and the two walk to the dance floor to share their first dance together as the song changes into a more upbeat song.

To be continue...
