Wherever you take me to

Chapter-15

What are you waiting for Rohi. Come on... Remove it”

His blood boiled hearing those words.

“Iam afraid...” She mumbled... Her voice came out breaking but her expressions didn't lie... She is afraid!

He touched her cheeks. Cupped them. “Its okay Love. It's just me... I will be away for many months Aaru. Please..”

He clutched his phone tight watching the video. His breath hitched when he saw Aarohi taking her hem of shirt. He paused and immediately left it...

He took deep breaths as tears clouded his eyes. He closed his eyes and screamed loud.

After two years of seperation, he is going home, to meet her, to talk to her about marriage. But everything is gone now... His love, his dreams, his everything is shattered.

He have a flight in forty minutes taking huge breaths he got ready for the departure. His eyes prickling with tears. He want to cry, but he don't want to, he don't want to accept this, he is sure his Aarohi is manipulated.

Suddenly her image of looking at him with love flashed infront of his eyes and a lone tear left from his right eye which is wiped roughly.

He booked a cab and left to airport making sure he left no thing of his and locked the main door.

As soon as he landed on Mumbai, the first thing he did is to call his Atharva.

“We have a work”

The next hour rolled into quickly and Aarohi woke up yawning at exact eight and smiled to herself unaware of certain someone's gaze.

“What a sleep?” she mumbled still closing her eyes and that someone who happened to be her husband smiled biting his inner cheeks as he watched his wife's stupid lazy smile.

Aarohi smilingly got up. Rubbed her eyes with her hands, that's when he noticed the Mehandi on her hands. It always looked good and now with the little yellow complexion due to all those turmeric baths it looked more radiant than ever.

And then come her face, which have a little make up. Her partition with vermillion. He chuckled to himself thinking how cute she looked. Not to forget that damn nose pin!

That's a tradition in South Indian Wedding that how a bride should wear ornaments on her wedding day from head to toe.

Head comes with Maang Tika, ears with ear rings, nose with nose pin, neck with chains, necklaces and haras that reach upto chest, waist chain on her waist, anklets to her legs and after marriage toe rings to her toes.

Aarohi's nose pin is a smal round one with white stones on it. His mother's choice...

Hearing his chuckle broke her self talk and Aarohi dumbly watched a more dumb Abhimanyu who is smiling at something he only knows as he shook his head.

“What is so amusing?” she asked getting up from the bed adjusting her nightdress.

“Your face” he said making her narrow her eyes.

“Hm, maybe but I am sure your life is more amusing, especially your love life.” she smiled devilishly at his grave face and humming a song left to washroom.

Abhimanyu closed his eyes and released a breath, and his mother is saying to have hope with someone like her?

After sometime he was called out by his mother who gave him some traditional clothes which have a white pattu lungi and white shirt. She gave him gold chain that have tiger nail neatly shaped and fixed as a locket. She asked him to get ready in the opposite guest room since some women and beauticians are coming to his and Aarohi's room to get her ready.

Nodding at all of her instructions he left to that room and within half and hour he is done.

He got out and his mother gave him some milk since they are not allowed to have food until the pooja is completed.

After another fifteen minutes Atharva came. Both he and Abhimanyu went down and saw the pandit arranged the decoration.

Abhimanyu folded his arms and greeted Aarohi's parents who just then came by.

Soon Aarohi came in a Orange pattu Saree with a blue border. Her hair tied in a braid neatly. She looked like an angel looking all like a married woman symbolising their tradition.

Her eyes met his, for a moment he felt his breath stopping. He continued to look at her, everything around them is blank for him as her eyes stared into depths of his heart, but soon he shut them off and turned away.

Soon the pooja started and continued for more than an hour. The refreshment everyone felt after a soulful pooja is unexplained as their hearts calmed alot. For sometime, nothing mattered to them anymore and their whole concentration was on pooja.

After pooja everyone had prasadham and then followed by breakfast while Aarohi and Abhimanyu were sent to change to normal clothes.

Aarohi went inside closet and took the saree she wore in the morning and tied it around her frame. She came out and looked at Abhimanyu who is combing his hair.

“As much as I like it stop staring me Aarohi. You are distracting me.”

“I am not staring at you. I am just annoyed how much time you are taking.”

“A man can always dream love.” he said irking her more and they both looked at eachother and he bit back a smile when she started observing their height difference.

“ Let's go.” she said with an annoyed look.

They both went downstairs and had food and then spent some time. After lunch, everyone left excited for the Reception which is in the evening.

The media was on fire last night that the political leader's son and the ever so famous business man and one of the most eligible bachelor is wedded. Rumours are were it was with his childhood sweetheart.

As soon as those words reached Aarohi's ears she wanted nothing but to bang her head somewhere. It was too much! She didn't like they way they are labelled.

Aarohi blankly looked at scenery infront of her. The green leaves... The fresh air. She missed the days when she had someone who would listen to her without judging.

Previously, it was Abhi, her sister and Vishal with whom she was close to. One wrong step in life, she lost all three.

Aarohi was not in the place to think about anyone but herself then and now it costed her two people. If she thought about what her stupidity was doing to her people maybe she would have stopped.

If someone ask Aarohi, what hurts her the most then she would likely to say to see the one you love hurt you most.

Maybe she is a fool to get attracted to Vishal, but she still loved him. But what about Abhimanyu? How can she forgive him for ruining her marriage.

Vishal was a bad guy maybe, but he promised to marry her. But what about what Abhi did to Vishal? Can she forgive him for that? If she didn't and they proceed to have the divorce after an year as they planned prior, what is she going to say to her parents?

Maybe time will tell them.

The evening came quick by so did the beauticians. Aarohi watched her face getting caked with cosmetics even she don't know of!

She is in a gorgeous red colour pattu Saree with gold big border. Small small flowers adorned the saree. The blouse is designer one adorned with so many stones.

Her hair is in a loose braid the front part divided into half as head piece (maangtika, Papidi billa) covered the partion.

A vertical design stone sticker. Her hair is filled with Jasmine and red roses.

Her neck with heavy neck jwellery pieces and waist with designer gold waist chain. Aarohi Ramaswamy looked beautiful like a South Indian Telugu bride.

Her eyes devoid of anything but kajal and mascara, red lipstik, nose pin.

Her two hands full of glass and oxidised bangles.

As soon as Abhimanyu saw her his breath hitched. Not because of the make up, jwellery but the vermillion and mangalsutram (nuptial chain).

His bride looked beautiful beyond words and his heart swelled when she lifted her head slowly and looked into his eyes. But something is missing. Her smile.

That made him want to bang his head somewhere as she kept her resting face. What can he do?

He sighed before extending his hand which she was forced to take, not literally in words but the gazes of many people looking keenly at them made them.

There are Whispers how beautiful they looked.

Abhimanyu looked handsome in a dark royal blue suit with a whitish cream shirt tucked in same colour pants with his shirts first button open. A gold chair around his neck.

He looked handsome.

They reached the venue and the celebrations started. No soon Aarohi's family came and everything is going smooth.

Chandini watched as the love of her life wrap his arm around her sister. She is sipping champagne.

“Isn't something burning?” She heard the familiar voice.

“ Your life maybe.” Chandini said taking another sip of the champagne.

“Stop drinking Doctor madam.”

“Stop Annoying me Arva.” Chandini snapped.

“What Annoying Chand? Be happy for your sister.” Atharva hissed.

“ I am happy for my sister, it's just that, I always dreamt to be the one standing next to Abhi.” Chandini said sighing.

“ I am feeling low Arva. Can we go somewhere? Away from this party?”

Atharva watched the stage first and looked at her. Sighing he just shrugged and Chandini grinned at him causing him to bend his head down, she went and informed her parents that she will be leaving soon as a work call came and then left the venue.

Atharva soon followed her behind and they both settled in his car.

“ Where to?” Atharva asked once they settled in his car.

“ Wherever you take me to.” He grinned before bringing the engine to life. The journey to the unknown future began then!
