Jag Suna Suna Lage
Chapter-17
It was after Abhimanyu's sister's death. Everything fell apart.
His mother went to shock and couldn't come back. And he couldn't see her like that.
With all the stress in life... That started effecting in his academics. And that lead to him failing in the tenth board eventually.
It was came a quiet shocking to each and everyone who know him. And for his father, it was the most embarrassing thing that happened till date.
"IAM ASKING YOU WHY HAVE YOU FAILED?" his father screamed and Abhimanyu stood still bending his head a little lower.
"I am asking you something you fool! Do you even know how shameful it is for me as a MLA to see my son failing in his tenth class? Do you have any idea? Why did you fail! What less have I done to you? Why?" He asked beating Abhimanyu on his back and slapping him.
Abhimanyu caught his father's hand with fury bubbling in his heart he pushed him away.
"ITS ALL BECAUSE OF YOU " everything stilled for a moment listening to the scream of the boy who never spoke a word unless spoken to, who never raised his voice even after everything.
His grandmother shrieked with horror watching her grandson talk back to her son.
"IS THIS WHAT YOUR MOTHER TAUGHT YOU? TO TREAT ELDERS-"
"Atleast my mother told me not to cheat in anything! Be it be exams or in a relationship. Unlike you who failed to teach it!"
"Abhi!" His mother screamed.
" Mom no wait! This man have to know his mistake. If only he allowed you to travel in his so called cars. Divya would have been alive today. You wouldn't have been depressed! I wouldn't have failed. If only he came then when I called him. Asking his help. But what he did? He cut the call cause he was with some degrading woman. Because he didn't care! He didn't care about you, about me! About... About Divya. I lost my sister cause you guys. You guys are the reason I failed. I failed as brother to protect my sister and these... These exams don't matter cause I already failed in the test by fate. I hate you! I hate you!"
"Jagratha ga undu. Time ki thinu. Time ki paduko." (Be safe, Eat in time and sleep in time.)
"Naku Thelusu le Maa. Naku em kotha kaadhu!" ( I know maa. It's not new to me!)
"Abhi ki reach ayyaka call cheyyi." (Call Abhi once you reached. )
"Ey? Niku cheyyadha?" (Why? Shouldn't I call you?)
"Stop speaking smart and stop arguing with me. Just because you got married doesn't mean you can speak as you seem now." Her mother said making Aarohi roll her eyes.
"Now go. Go before the flight leaves you behind." She scolded and with a sulking face she picked her luggage.
As she was leaving, her mother soundly kissed her cheeks making her smile and whine as she rubbed her cheeks making the other elders standing there chuckle.
Aarohi hugged her father, sister and mother-in-law and took blessings of her father-in-law.
There stood Atharva with a cheeky grin.
"If you don't return early I will introduce some hot girls to your husband and make that girl steal him from you." he said cheekily making her roll her eyes.
She hugged him with a sweet fake smile.
" You can take him to girls or boys for all that I care. You would be actually helping me to get divorced soon. Please stick to your words." She whispered slowly making his face grim.
She maintained that smile as she got herself out from the hug and looked at Atharva who had a grim face but smiled when she motioned how others are looking at him.
Then came him. The most awkward good bye she ever going to give. She thought and shook her head.
"Take care." He mumbled as she neared.
She gave him a small smile and turned to leave when Atharva held her hand.
"Oh! Come on. You guys will be meeting when again? Don't be shy, please hug. Don't be shy they won't mind." he mentioned with a mischievous glint in his eyes as he represented 'them' as the elders.
"Yeah yeah. We won't mind. And stop being this jumpy. You guys were really best friends back then. Why all so awkward now?" said Aarohi's mother said with a chortle and Abhimanyu's mother smiled lightly and gave Abhimanyu and Aarohi a knowing look that made Aarohi stand uncomfortably.
"People changes" Abhimanyu muttered without glancing at his wife and she gave him a distant look with an aloof face not giving into the emotion of how he told those words.
As if he wasn't the reason! She thought dryly.
Thanks to the time that Aarohi got to leave and she bid them bye and looked at him for a second and mumbled a bye to which he did the same.
They are two perfect strangers, who know eachother so well, yet they don't!
Abhimanyu watched as his wife sprinting inside.
It was hard letting her go but it's not harder than having her beside him.
He hate Aarohi Ramaswamy. Cause she is the reason he feel things which are not going to give him any peace.
His father immediately left, so did his mother and Aarohi's family.
He saw Chandini and Atharva sharing looks and he for once know something is up between the both.
There is this awkward air between them.
It's over a fifteen days now, since their marriage. All his cousins left and now Aarohi is gone.
He drove to his office finally having some inner peace of seeing falling things in their place.
Being a closed person and introvert all his life he hated chaos. And a wedding with full of relatives is anything but peaceful!
And Aarohi Abhimanyu Varma too is anything but not chaotic.
"Dont think about her." he grumbled to himself scrunching his nose.
Thinking about Aarohi Ramaswamy will only lead him to one thing. His broken heart and depressing thoughts and he want anything but them right now.
Dil Jude Bina Hi Tut Gaye, Hath Mile Bina Hi Chhut Gaye,
Ki Likhe Ne Lekh Kismat Ne
Bar Bar Rod Akhiyan, Tainu Jo Na Vekh Sakiyan,
Kho Leya Ae Yaar Kudrat Ne,
Hearts were torn apart before they could be tied.
Souls were separated in a chasm so wide.
Destiny has taken my beloved away from me.
Katan Main Kive Din Teri Sohn Tere Bin,
Main Toh Jiya Na Maraa,
How do I live each day? Without you, it's a desolate bay.
Neither do I live nor do I die.
Chhan Se Jo Tute Koi Sapna,
Jag Suna Suna Lage, Jag Suna Suna Lage,
Koi Rahe Na Jab Apna,
When a dream is shattered in a moment.
The world feels deserted when your beloved isn't yours anymore.
Did he just thought he is having inner peace?
"Atharva shut that bloody phone out!" Abhimanyu snapped making Atharva chuckle but nevertheless didn't do what his friend asked and instead kept on singing while playing that song.
Abhimanyu took an empty file and threw on Atharva's face which made him dodge it.
He immediately stopped sensing Abhimanyu's foul mood.
But continued with his mischief.
"Dont you think this song suits you more now?"
"And don't you think Grave is a nice place to be peaceful."
"For whom? You?"
"No for your playstation."
"Dont you dare!" Atharva shrieked.
"You know I am capable of!" Abhimanyu said haughtily.
"Fine I won't irritate you." Atharva grumbled and whined something like You are of no fun. Abhimanyu just shook his head and sat back in his chair and looked over the files for the next meeting which is an hour from now.
It was a busy day, and he tried to keep her thoughts as much away as possible.
