Chapter- 20

Abhimanyu attempted tenth exams again and got ten points. But since then it never satisfied his father. Whether he was satisfied or not, he didn't care.

He started avoiding Aarohi. The reason was simple. She shared the lake with Vishal they both found together when she was lost and was found crying in that place when they were younger.

Whenever he went, he saw her with him there sitting, talking and laughing. And the place he once loved spending his lone time with started to nauseate him more.

It was the day before he was leaving to Hyderabad for Intermediate. He and Atharva joined in same college and same section.

“Eat well.”

“Hmm.”

“Don't fight with anyone.”

“Hmmm.”

“Don't eat outside food when they give outing. Don't do anything that will get you punished.”

“Hmm.”

“What is with this Hmm? Talk something Minnu.”

“What do you want me talk Aarohi?”

“Aarohi? You are not calling me Rohi? Why? Did I do something wrong??? Why are you not talking to me!” Aarohi exclaimed coming closer. Abhimanyu took a step back.

She glared at him. “Actually. Go to hell.” she said stomping on her foot and he watched as she was about to open the door and leave.

She opened it and slammed back before closing it shut. She took hastened steps and was infront of him within few seconds and wrapped her hands around his neck before pushing herself into his body.

“ I might hate you, but please take care.” she said and placed a kiss on his chest.

Abhimanyu's whole body was lit with fire. His head is heavy and his breath went abnormal. Does she even know what she is doing?

As she pushed herself more he wrapped his hands around her.

“Idiot.” he muttered. She smiled against his chest.

She looked up at him and he looked down at her. He smiled slightly while she grinned at him “Your idiot.” she mumbled.

Time spent with Jai is fabulous for Aarohi. They talk, laugh, crack stupidest jokes and play around.

Aarohi found a genuine friend in him for so long. Jai's charms was something she couldn't ignore and she didn't find him as bad as she did at first and came to conclusions that he is natural flirt and flirt with anyone and everyone. But that was upto a limit ofcourse and he is a very good company.

It was Friday evening and she have the next two days as work from home due to Diwali. Aarohi dropped her office bag in the couch and went to kitchen to wash her hands.

As she came back, her phone pinged with a notification and she opened it.

It was from WhatsApp and she opened to see a new group.

Family ❤️

Atharva added you in Family ❤️

She rolled her eyes at the typical name used by almost every Family group. Can't they use anything other than this? She wondered.

She saw thd group having Abhimanyu's parents, her parents, Atharva's parents, her sister, Abhimanyu's cousin, Anirudh, Neha and Atharva and her husband.

She saw Chandini typing and soon a message was delivered.

Chandini:- What is this group for? 🙄

Atharva:- To plan our wedding😘

*Atharva deleted this message.*

Atharva:- Radha aunty have something to say 😅

Abhimanyu:- I just saw what you did there 🙂

Aarohi:- Me too 😏😒👊👊

Chandini :- 🌝 Atharava, you are so gone!

Radha:- Hey everyone!

Aarohi:- Hi aunty, how are you?

Radha:- Good Aarohi,

this is actually I want to have a talk with you all. I have called Abhimanyu and asked where they would be going for honeymoon but he said he and Aarohi thought about having a trip with family and even I think it's a good idea.

Yashodha:- Really? But what about their honeymoon?

Abhimanyu:- Don't worry aunty. Instead of both of us, we all can enjoy. Please accept.

Atharva:- Now I saw what you both did here.

Abhimanyu and Aarohi at a time:- Shut up!

Chandini:- Fine for me, but where?

That question caught Aarohi off-guard. She actually liked the idea of having a family trip with her family rather than leaving with Abhimanyu alone. This seemed nice.

Suddenly a thought popped her.

She quickly typed it in the message and found him typing too.

Abhimanyu and Aarohi at same time:- Tirupati?

She was shocked and was taken aback.

Atharva:- Did you both had this conversation before?

Abhimanyu:- yes

Aarohi:- No

Atharva:- Yes or No

Abhimanyu and Aarohi:- Shut up.

Atharva:- At this point this isn't family conversation anymore. It feels like you both are trying to show your telepathic connection 🌝

Chandini:- Will you stop annoying? 😒 Guys so is Tirupati final?

Yashodha:- Yes

Radha:- Yes.

Atharva:- Fine with my parents but what about Uncles?

Yashodha and Radha:- we will take care of it.

Aarohi:- But when?

Yashodha:- How about 19th on next month? Since 20th is your first month anniversary. We can go there on 19th morning, we will reach by night and next day we can go to temple?

Abhimanyu:- Perfect

Chandini:- Excellent

Radha:- Sure! That's brilliant.

Atharva:- I will arrange travelling vehicle then!

Reading the last few lines of the chat Aarohi tapped back and went to charge her phone.

She later got freshen up and cooked veg Biryani and packed some for her new friend and left to his apartment. She rang the doorbell and is immediately greeted with Jai's goofy smile as usually. She shook her head with a smile and stretched her hand to him to give the food.

“What is this?” he asked opening the lid to see Veg Biryani.

“Did you mix poison?” he asked with a frown to which she rolled her eyes.

“I wish I could.” she said and walked back to her apartment after saying goodbye. Jai watched her leave and sighed. He went back to his room.

Aarohi took her phone and saw it fully charged. She tapped the charger switch off and removed the connection.

She saw a missed call from Abhimanyu and her heart skipped a beat..

She dialled him back and the mobile was picked at third ring.

“Hello.” She heard his gruff voice and breathed in slowly, careful enough to not to breath loud so that he could hear it.

“Yeah. You called?” she asked.

“About that Tirupati trip. Hope you are okay.”

“Iam.”

“ I called to ask that.”

“Ohh, but next time you take such decisions, ask me first and I will do the same for you.”

“Sure.” came his voice. It was low, he is feeling low for some reason. What could it be?

“Are you fine? You seem low?” she found herself asking.

“Dont ask this again.” he said with a groan.

“Why?” she asked meekly.

“It will give me hopes that you care.” came out his whisper.

“But I don't.” she was fast to answer.

“Then fucking act like it damn it!” and the line went dead.

She placed the phone near her chest and on the other hand he did the same.

They both once again looked at their mobile phone before a frown came on their faces. They both placed the phone as faraway as possible. Because Abhimanyu is afraid he will call and end up apologizing and Aarohi is afraid she will call and ask about his wellness.

They both have different reasons. But one thought is similar that is to stay away from eachother as far as possible!
