Chapter 3

Third person's pov

The door to Taehyung's room creaked open, and Mrs Lee stepped inside, Taehyung, seated by the window, turned to acknowledge her presence,

"Aunt, I would have accepted it, but seriously, he has autism?" Taehyung said, the weight of societal expectations evident in his words.

Mrs Lee, approached him "Taehyung, there's nothing wrong with having autism. It's just a part of who Jungkook is. He's a really independent boy, you know. He even irons his own clothes. He is Such a sweet boy."

Taehyung sighed, "But, Aunt, what if it's too much? What if we can't connect on a deeper level?"

Mrs Lee took a seat beside him, her eyes conveying a depth of understanding. "Taehyung, connecting on a deeper level isn't about conforming to societal norms. It's about accepting each other, embracing differences, and building a bond based on love and understanding."

"But I need someone with whom I can share responsibilities, someone who won't make life more challenging," Taehyung argued, his concerns rooted in a desire for stability.

Mrs Lee, choosing her words carefully, responded, "Jungkook may have autism, but that doesn't mean he can't share responsibilities."

Taehyung remained contemplative, his gaze fixed on the night sky outside. Mrs Lee continued, her voice a gentle reassurance.

A moment of silence hung in the room as Taehyung processed Mrs Lee's words. The weight of societal expectations clashed with the potential for genuine connection, leaving Taehyung at a crossroads.

After a thoughtful pause, Taehyung sighed and said, "Fine, Aunt. I am ready for this proposal."

Mrs Lee's eyes lit up with a mix of joy and relief. She enveloped Taehyung in a warm hug,

The next day......

The next day Mrs Lee and Mrs Kim made their way to Jungkook's home. The air was charged with a subtle anticipation, and Jungkook, greeted them with a bow as he opened the door.

And then they went inside and sat in the living room.

Mrs Kim, caressed his hair affectionately. "I am Taehyung's grandmother," she introduced herself with a warm smile.

Jungkook, looking up at her with doe-eyed innocence, stammered, "Doe-does T-Tae-ehyung acce-ept me?" The vulnerability in his question echoed the fears that lingered within him.

Mrs Lee, quick to reassure, nodded and kissed Jungkook's forehead. "Why wouldn't he accept my baby?" she expressed with unwavering confidence, a protective warmth in her gaze.

A subtle shift occurred within Jungkook; for the first time in many years, he felt a glimmer of acceptance. The weight of rejection that had burdened him began to lift, replaced by the possibility of a connection that held the promise of understanding and love.

He accepted koo,

Does that mean he will love koo ?

Jungkook thought.

Mrs Kim, took Jungkook's hand in hers. "Taehyung will be here soon," she informed him, her eyes reflecting a genuine love.

Jungkook, nodding in acknowledgment, stammered, "Sho-ould I get something t-to drink?" The ingrained habit of hospitality shone through despite his nervousness.

Mrs Lee reassured him, " My baby, I will get it myself." She navigated the familiar surroundings, leaving Jungkook to sit on the sofa with Mrs Kim.

As they settled into conversation, Mrs Kim said her tone gentle and inviting. "So, Jungkook, tell me more about yourself. What do you enjoy doing?"

Jungkook, adjusting to the unexpected warmth of acceptance, began to share "I-I like d-drawing and listening to m-music," he revealed, his eyes lighting up with a hint of enthusiasm.

Mrs Kim, encouraged him to open up further. "That's wonderful. What do you enjoy drawing?"

Jungkook, gradually gaining confidence, replied, "I-I like drawing f-faces and s-sceneries." His fingers traced invisible patterns in the air, a silent expression of his artistic inclination.

Mrs Kim, nodded and said, " Do you have any favorite artists?" Her questions aimed to establish a connection,

Jungkook, immersed in the conversation, responded, "I-I like V-van Gogh and P-picasso."

Mrs Kim, genuinely engaged, shared her own insights into art,

Just then the door bell rang and Jungkook went to open it, the door opened, and Taehyung entered, his eyes meeting Jungkook's.

Taehyung, spoke with a gentleness that resonated. "Hello, Jungkook. Nice to meet you."

Jungkook, his heart pounding, greeted Taehyung with a shy smile. "H-hello."

Mrs Kim suggested, "Why don't you both talk together, while Sejin and I walk in the garden?" With that proposal, the older women gracefully exited to give Taehyung and Jungkook some privacy.

Now left alone, Taehyung and Jungkook found themselves in an awkward silence.

Taehyung, though polite, cut straight to the point. "Can you speak properly? Look, I am not saying this to disrespect you, but it's annoying." His directness, though blunt, reflected a desire for clear communication.

Nodding understandingly, Jungkook replied, "I w-wil try."

Taehyung, perhaps sensing the need for a neutral topic, shifted the conversation. "I am a lawyer," he revealed, attempting to find common ground.

"I w-work at a g-grocery shop," Jungkook shared, his gaze fixed on the floor.

Taehyung's eyes fell upon the bear beside Jungkook. Curiosity piqued, he picked it up, a note of disbelief in his voice. "You still play with these toys?"

Jungkook, responded, "I-i li-ike it."

A sigh escaped Taehyung as he put the bear back in its place. Standing up, he expressed a growing discomfort. "You should let go of these childish things."

Jungkook, feeling the weight of the comment, asked, "D-Do y-you thi-ink I am childish ?"

" Do I even need to think about it ?"

Then Taehyung said, "I have a meeting with my client so I am going and I think Even if I didn't have it, I would still prefer to go elsewhere, since we don't really have something to talk about."

With that, Taehyung left the room, leaving Jungkook alone on the sofa. As the door closed, Jungkook sighed, his emotions swirling within him. He sat there for a moment, contemplating the complexity of the encounter.

Wiping away tears, Jungkook navigated the turbulent sea of emotions that accompanied his attempts at connection. His mind was filled with thoughts like,

He also thinks koo is annoying.

I am his soon to be husband, he shouldn't leave me like this.

The weeks leading up to Taehyung and Jungkook's wedding had been marked by a subdued air, with little communication between them.

On the day of the ceremony, Taehyung stood at the aisle, anticipation and a touch of nervousness etched on his face.

As the music began to play, signaling Jungkook's entrance, all eyes turned toward the door. Slowly, Jungkook, accompanied by Mrs Lee, made his way down the aisle. Mrs Lee, with a tender smile, gently placed Jungkook's hand in Taehyung's and whispered, "Take care of him."

Taehyung nodded, a genuine smile breaking through the nervous tension. His gaze briefly met Jungkook's, who, with a demure beauty, kept his eyes fixed on the floor.

The priest, standing at the altar, began the ceremonial vows. "Do you, Kim Taehyung, take Jeon Jungkook as your husband?" the priest asked.

"Yes, I do" Taehyung responded,

The attention then shifted to Jungkook. "Do you, Jeon Jungkook, take Kim Taehyung as your husband?" the priest inquired.

A soft but confident "Yes, I d-do" escaped Jungkook's lips,

The priest then declared, "I announce you both as husbands, and you may kiss now."

Taehyung, gently held Jungkook by the waist. In that moment, the weight of unspoken emotions and the journey they had undertaken converged. Their lips met in a quick kiss—a symbolic union witnessed by those gathered to celebrate their love.
