Chapter 2
Third person's pov
As Jungkook returned home after his shift at the grocery store, the contrasting worlds of his workplace sanctuary and the tense atmosphere at home collided. Taejoon, engrossed in his phone, seemed indifferent to Jungkook's presence.
Quietly, Jungkook approached Taejoon and took a seat nearby. "Sorr-ry for the even-ning," he murmured, his words a hesitant attempt to mend the strained atmosphere.
Taejoon, without looking up from his phone, responded dismissively. "Whatever. Go away. Can't you see I'm doing something?" His tone, tinged with irritation, further heightened the emotional distance between them.
Nodding in acknowledgment, Jungkook rose from his seat and retreated to his room. Alone in the confined space, he lay on his bed, his thoughts swirling with the events of the day.
"Wh-hy does ever-ryone ha-ate Koo?" he wondered, his internal dialogue a vulnerable reflection of his emotions. Tears welled up, and in the solitude of his room, he allowed himself to release the pent-up frustration. The rhythmic sound of his quiet sobs blended with the hum of the outside world.
In the vulnerability of his emotions, Jungkook drifted into a restless sleep. The tears, still damp on his cheeks, marked the unspoken anguish that lingered in the air. The room, dimly lit, became a refuge for a soul navigating the complexities of a world that often seemed unkind.
Back in the living room, Taejoon continued scrolling through his phone, the glow of the screen casting a faint light on his features.
The next morning........
The next morning bathed the house in a soft glow as sunlight filtered through the curtains. Jungkook, having awakened from the trials of the previous night, went about his morning routine.
A quiet hunger led him to the kitchen, where he plucked an apple from the fruit bowl. Just as he was about to take a bite, a faint sound reached his ears-the gentle jingle of a bell at the front door. Curiosity etched across his face, Jungkook made his way to the entrance.
As he opened the door, a familiar face greeted him. It was their aunt, Mrs. Lee. Jungkook's eyes immediately brightened, a genuine smile gracing his features. He embraced her tightly, finding comfort in the warmth of familial connection. Mrs. Lee reciprocated the hug and planted a tender kiss on Jungkook's head.
"How is my baby?" she inquired, her eyes reflecting genuine concern.
Jungkook beamed, his expressive eyes conveying a sense of contentment. "Gre-eat," he replied, his words punctuated by the innocence that defined him.
Mrs. Lee, satisfied with the response, shifted her attention to more pressing matters. "Taejoon is treating you well, right?" she questioned, her maternal instincts guiding her concern.
A nod from Jungkook confirmed her inquiry. " he is," he affirmed,
With that assurance, Mrs. Lee stepped inside, her presence bringing a certain vibrancy to the household. The sound of footsteps echoed as she called for Taejoon, who emerged from his room, drawn by the familiar voice.
Upon seeing Mrs. Lee, Taejoon's face lit up with a warmth reserved for cherished connections. He enveloped her in a tight. She planted a gentle kiss on Taejoon's head,
"I have something important to discuss. Let's talk in the living room," Mrs. Lee proposed, her tone carrying a sense of urgency that piqued the curiosity of both Taejoon and Jungkook.
In the living room, a hushed atmosphere settled as they gathered on the couch. Mrs Lee, seated between Taejoon and Jungkook, took a moment to hold Jungkook's hands tenderly. "Um, bun, you know Aunt loves you, right?" she began, her gaze filled with a mixture of affection and concern.
Jungkook, with a subtle nod, affirmed his understanding. "I-is som-mething wrong?" he inquired, his words laced with a touch of anxiety.
Mrs Lee gently caressed his cheek, a reassuring gesture. "No, nothing is wrong," she assured him before redirecting her attention to both Taejoon and Jungkook.
"You know that as you are now old enough for marriage.......I have seen someone for you," Mrs Lee revealed. Jungkook's eyes widened with surprise, while Taejoon's expression shifted to one of mild interest.
"Who is he?" Taejoon inquired, a note of curiosity coloring his words.
Mrs Lee's eyes softened as she divulged the information. "He is my friend's son, Taehyung. I have already told you guys about him a few times," she explained, her tone carrying a sense of familiarity.
Taejoon's initial interest morphed into skepticism. "But will he be fine getting married to someone like him?" he remarked, his words revealing an undercurrent of judgment.
Mrs Lee, responded with a stern tone. "What do you mean, someone like him? Taejoon, control your tongue,"
Taejoon, sensing the tension, moderated his tone. "I just meant... you know how jungkook is. Will Taehyung be okay with that?" he clarified, attempting to frame his concerns more diplomatically.
Mrs Lee sighed, "Taejoon, Taehyung has a really pure heart and besides that Jungkook is educated, he is beautiful, he is kind and what else would Taehyung need huh ?"
Then Mrs Lee turned her attention to Jungkook, her eyes softening with concern. "Bun, will you be okay with it? Do you want to get married? I don't want to force you in any way," she spoke with a sincerity that sought Jungkook's genuine feelings.
Taejoon, his initial skepticism unabated, interjected callously, "Why would he have a problem? Imagine getting married to a well-settled person while being like this. What else does he even want?"
Mrs Lee, now visibly frustrated, raised her voice in an assertive tone. "Taejoon, shut up!" Her words cut through the air.
Turning her attention back to Jungkook, Mrs Lee observed the tears streaming down his face. In a swift motion, she enveloped him in a comforting embrace, wiping away his tears with gentle strokes. "Tell Auntie, hmm, are you comfortable?" she inquired, her tone carrying a gentle reassurance.
Jungkook, his emotions raw and unfiltered, struggled to articulate his thoughts. "K-kook is fine with it," he managed to utter, his voice a fragile whisper. Mrs Lee smiled warmly,
Kissing Jungkook's head tenderly, Mrs Lee affirmed, "That's all that matters, my dear. Auntie wants you to be happy. Taehyung is a kind and understanding person, and together, you can build a beautiful life."
After an hour, Mrs Lee left....
In the quiet aftermath of Mrs Lee's departure, Jungkook retreated to the sanctuary of his room. Clutching a small baby bear close to his chest, he sought solace in the familiar embrace of the soft plush toy. Seated on his bed,
"Will he like Koo?," Jungkook mumbled, his words a whispered contemplation.
His fingers traced intricate patterns on the baby bear's fur, a tactile reassurance that grounded him in the present moment. "But wh-hat if he doesn't? What if he h-hates Koo?" The questions, spoken aloud but seemingly directed inward, revealed the vulnerable undercurrents of Jungkook's thoughts.
As he voiced his concerns, Jungkook's eyes welled up with tears,
In the dim light, Jungkook's reflection in the mirror mirrored the internal struggle. "It's okay, K-koo," he murmured to himself, as if offering reassurance to the inner turmoil that tugged at his heart.
He continued the one-sided conversation, his voice carrying a mix of hope and apprehension. "M-Maybe he wi-ill understand. Maybe he wo-on't hate Koo." The uncertain possibilities unfolded like a delicate dance in his mind.
Jungkook's hands, in their rhythmic movement, sought comfort in the familiar texture of the baby bear.
Meanwhile with Taehyung.......
As night descended, casting a gentle veil over the city, Mrs Lee arrived at Taehyung's mansion. The grandeur of the entrance welcomed her, and upon stepping inside, she was greeted by Mrs Kim, Taehyung's grandmother.
Moments later, Taehyung, descended the staircase, his presence commanding attention. A genuine smile lit up his face as he approached Mrs Lee, embracing her warmly.
They settled in the opulent living room, a space adorned with luxurious furnishings that mirrored the family's affluence.
"I have something important to talk about," Mrs Lee began, her tone a blend of seriousness and anticipation. Taehyung, leaned in attentively as they took their seats.
"Taehyung, I've seen someone for you," Mrs Lee continued, her gaze sincere. A pause lingered, filled with the unspoken anticipation of a pivotal revelation.
"He is my sister's son," she revealed, and Mrs Kim's eyes twinkled with recognition. "Jungkook ?," Mrs Kim uttered, a fond memory flashing across her face. Mrs lee nodded.
"I met him once, and he was such a cute boy."
A sense of intrigue sparked in Taehyung's eyes, and he leaned forward. "Do you have a picture of him?" he inquired, curiosity coloring his voice. Mrs Lee nodded and retrieved a photo of Jungkook, presenting it to Taehyung.

As Taehyung's eyes met the image of Jungkook, a genuine smile graced his lips. "He looks... amazing," Taehyung remarked, the photograph capturing a moment that resonated with him.
But Mrs Lee, recognizing the importance of full disclosure, interjected gently, "But there is something you must know."
Taehyung, ever composed, raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "What is it?" he inquired, a flicker of anticipation in his eyes.
Mrs Lee sighed, recognizing the significance of her words. "Jungkook has autism."
The revelation hung in the air, a moment pregnant with implications. Taehyung, processing the information, stood up abruptly. "Aunt, you know, right? I need someone decent, and he has autism."
Mrs Kim, with a stern expression, chimed in, "So what if he has autism? Why are you acting like it is some sort of crime?"
Taehyung, however, was undeterred. "Grandma, I need someone whom I can share things with, whom I can share responsibilities-not someone who doubles my responsibilities."
Mrs Lee, standing her ground, countered, "Taehyung, having autism doesn't mean that he can't do work or he can't listen to you."
Taehyung, sighed heavily and uttered, "I need time."
With that, he retreated to his room, the heavy door closing behind him.
