Chapter 12
Third person's pov
As Jungkook's grip gradually loosened, he allowed Taehyung and the officers to pull him upward. Mrs. Lee, overcome with relief, rushed to him, embracing him tightly.
Surprisingly, Jungkook didn't resist this time; instead, he clung to Mrs. Lee, crying loudly. His anguished screams echoed in the room, a haunting symphony of pain.
Mrs. Lee, cupping his tear-stained face, whispered, "M-my b-bu-unny."
Between sobs, Jungkook managed to utter, "I-I a-am di-irt-ty now. A-Aunt t-th-hey....th-he-ey-"
He couldn't even complete his sentence and he passed out in Mrs Lee's arms.
" Jungkook!"
" Quickly place him on the bed. "
Taehyung, gently picked him up and carefully placed him on the bed. The doctors swiftly moved into action, preparing injections to help ease Jungkook's distressed state.
The specific medication, was administered with precision. The room gradually settled into a heavy silence.
The medical team, having done what they could in the moment, exchanged glances that conveyed a shared sense of concern.
As the sedative took effect, the doctors turned their attention to the officers. "Please understand," one of the doctors implored, "Jungkook is in no condition to provide a statement today. He still needs time. We suggest postponing the police investigation until he's more stable."
The officers, nodded in agreement. "Of course," Officer Kim responded, "We'll wait until he's ready to talk. Please keep us informed about his condition."
With that, the officers left the room,
The night pressed on, a heavy shroud of silence hanging over the hospital room where Jungkook lay in a fitful slumber.
Taehyung, Taewon, and Mrs. Lee remained vigilant, their eyes never straying far from Jungkook. Sleep seemed an impossible luxury, a realm they dared not enter after the night's harrowing events.
Taehyung, his heart aching with a mixture of guilt, anger, and despair, felt a lump forming in his throat.
He desperately wanted to cry, to release the torrent of emotions threatening to engulf him. With a heavy sigh, he excused himself to the bathroom, a small refuge where he could let his guard down, even if just for a moment.
Inside the confines of the bathroom, Taehyung turned on the faucet, letting the sound of running water provide a thin veil for his private struggle.
He stared at his reflection in the mirror,
"Why?" he muttered to himself, his voice barely audible over the rushing water. "Why couldn't I protect him? How di-id it get to this point?" The questions lingered in the air, unanswered and tormenting.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Lee, her eyes glazed with unshed tears, clutched Jungkook's hand, a silent
Taewon, sitting quietly in the corner, couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that gnawed at him.
Taehyung, back in the bathroom, splashed some cold water on his face, a feeble attempt to wash away the guilt that clung to him. "I pro-omised to protect him," he whispered to his reflection, fists clenching at his sides. "And I failed. What kind of husb-band am I?"
The weight of responsibility pressed on Taehyung's shoulders, threatening to crush him. His hands trembled as he gripped the edge of the sink, his knuckles turning white.
As Taehyung emerged from the bathroom, he composed himself, a mask concealing the raw pain within.
The next day dawned with a heavy stillness in the hospital room. Jungkook, having woken up, sat near the window, his gaze fixed on the outside world as if searching for answers that eluded him.
In the softly lit room, Mrs. Lee approached Jungkook with a tenderness that belied her own anguish. "B-baby, it's necessary," she said, her voice cracking with emotion. "You know that y-you have to tell the p-police what hap-ppened, mhm."
Jungkook remained silent, his eyes locked onto the distant horizon beyond the window. With a heavy sigh, Taehyung spoke,
"Look at you, living like a dead body, and the peo-ople who did t-this to you are roaming freely and enjoying their lives. Do you want that?"
Jungkook's gaze shifted from the window to meet Taehyung's eyes. There was a silent plea in those eyes, a plea that Taehyung had been waiting for.
Just as Taehyung was about to get up Jungkook, in a voice barely audible, said, "I-I wil-ll ta-alk to the po-olice."
A flicker of relief crossed Taehyung's and Mrs lee's face,
Taehyung managed a faint smile, grateful that Jungkook was willing to take the difficult step. Taehyung swiftly reached for his phone and dialed the number for the police station.
As the call connected, Taehyung spoke. "Hello, this is Taehyung. Jungkook is ready to talk to the police......Yes, we'll be waiting." With those words, he ended the call,
As the police arrived, Taehyung and Mrs. Lee greeted them. The nurse provided chairs, and they sat at a respectful distance from Jungkook. Officer Kim, with a calm demeanor, began the questioning.
"So, Jungkook, would you tell us how many people were there?" Officer Kim inquired gently. Jungkook, eyes downcast, whispered, "4."
The officer proceeded with caution, "Could you tell us what happened that night?" Jungkook took a deep breath, closed his eyes momentarily, and then reopened them, ready to recount the horrifying details.
In a trembling voice, he began to narrate the events,
"I wa-as walk-king h-home... it was a- aro-ound 12, and t-th-hen I saw a san-na-t-ta s-stan-ndi-ing" His words hung in the air as he struggled to find the right ones.
Tears welled up in his eyes, the memory too vivid to suppress. He stopped, a lump forming in his throat, and silent sobs racked his body. Officer Kim, understanding the gravity of the situation, gave him a moment, allowing the tears to fall as a testament to the unspeakable horrors.
As Jungkook continued, his voice quivered. "Su-udd-denly h-he he-eld my ha-and and th-hen a f-few men cam-me f-fr-rom beh-hind the w-wall." He paused again,
"T-Th-hey dr-ragg-ged me int-to a vall-ley..." His voice trailed off as he relived the anguish. Another pause, the pain etched across his face, before he managed to continue. "A-And then they u-use-ed m-me."
Officer Lee, immediately intervened, "It's okay, Jungkook. Take a break." Taehyung, fetched a glass of water, but Jungkook's hands trembled so violently that he couldn't hold it.
Mrs. Lee gently took the glass from Taehyung and held it for Jungkook and made him drink it slowly.
Jungkook, still visibly shaken, wiped away the tears with trembling hands. He took a deep, shuddering breath, attempting to steady himself.
Officer Lee, with a gentle yet determined demeanor, continued the questioning.
"Do you remember any specific details about any of the people?" Officer Lee inquired, leaning forward slightly. Jungkook hesitated, his mind clouded and then he shook his head. "It w-was re-eally d-dark," he whispered.
Officer Lee, said "Anything might help us a lot," he added. Jungkook closed his eyes, delving into the depths of his memory.
After a moment, he opened his eyes and spoke, his voice strained, "On-ne of the-em ha-ad a sna-ake tat-ttoo o-on his nec-ck, a-and on-ne ha-ad a rea-ally wei-ird gol-ld c-chain Th-here wa-as so-omet-thing w-with 'J' writ-tten o-on i-it."
Officer Lee swiftly jotted down the details, "Anything else you remember?" he pressed, hoping for additional clues.
Jungkook furrowed his brows, attempting to recall more, but the effort seemed to strain him. His head started throbbing, and he instinctively clutched his temples.
Concerned, the doctor intervened, cautioning the officers, "Don't put pressure on his mind. He needs to relax." Officer Lee nodded.
Jungkook, managed to articulate, "I-I can't rem-member any-ything m-more. It h-hurt-ts." The doctor, sensing Jungkook's distress, advised the officers to proceed with caution.
Officer Kim, maintaining a compassionate tone, addressed Jungkook, "It's okay. We appreciate everything you've shared with us. If you remember anything else later, immediately call us."
After the officers left, Jungkook fell into a restless slumber. Mrs. Lee turned to Taehyung, concern etched on her face, and mentioned, "Have you seen Taewon? I haven't seen him for some time."
Taehyung shook his head, responding, "He told me he was going to the garden for some fresh air. I'll check on him." With that, Taehyung made his way to the hospital's garden.
There, he found Taewon sitting on a bench, his head buried in his hands, tears streaming down his face. Taehyung approached without a word,
He could hear Taewon's choked sobs,
As Taehyung placed a comforting hand on Taewon's shoulder, their eyes met, and without uttering a word, Taewon embraced him tightly.
Taewon, managed to say, "Hyu-ung, I sho-ouldn't h-have le-" Before he could finish, Taehyung gently interrupted, "Shh, just l-let it out."
And soon, Taewon's cries resonated alongside Taehyung's own tears. In that moment of vulnerability, the two found solace in each other's embrace, acknowledging the pain that words couldn't fully express.
After 20 minutes......
Taehyung's phone buzzed as they were returning from the garden, and he noted the call from the officer. He answered with a sense of urgency,
"We've identified a person matching Jungkook's description," the officer informed Taehyung. "He and his friends were implicated in a rape case two years ago, but due to his father's influence, they escaped charges. We need you to come to the police station for a more detailed discussion."
Taehyung's expression shifted, "I'll be there right away," he affirmed,
Then he hung up and said while glancing at Taewon. "Tell Aunt that I've got to go to the police station. I'll update you both later."
Taewon nodded,
As Taehyung hurried to the car, thoughts swirled in his mind. The possibility of identifying one of the perpetrators brought a glimmer of hope,

So that was all for today's chapter, I hope you enjoyed reading it.
So how was it ?
What are your views about it ?
Okay.... I need to ask you all something, yesterday I received a message saying that I am exaggerating Jungkook's emotions too much and it's getting dramatic now,
I didn't even responded to that message because I was really shocked at people's thinking,
This is the reality of today's society, people blame the victims.
Like imagine going through such a tough time and hearing such things from someone like " You are being dramatic."
Share your thoughts about it.

Byee.
