"Momma!" Silent yowled "Come back!"
Silent watched in horror as her mother abandoned her. The black she-cat left her two daughters to fend for themselves.
"Momma?" Silent whispered
The she-cat disappeared into the woods. Silent was alone.
No, she wasn't! Silent had Bracken, her sister. Silent whipped around, looking for the red furred cat. The only thing she saw were paw prints in the snow, heading to the twolegplace.
Silent's heart broke in two. She lost everything. After what seemed like moons, Silent got up and looked for a place to spend the night. She found a hollow tree, so Silent curled up a fell asleep.

Daylight shone onto Silent's face. She crawled out of her tree and on to the snow.
"I scent cat!" A excited she-cat yowled
"Silence, Dragonpaw!" Another cat mewed, angrily. "We're hunting, not patrolling."
Silent tensed, she must be on clan territory. Her mother always told her to stay away from clan cats.
Forget her, Silent. She's gone.
For once, Silent agreed with her mind. She tasted the air.
There's a mouse, Silent, catch it.
Silent crouched, ready to pounce. She unsheathed her claws. Silent jumped on the mouse, killing it messily.
Silent devoured the prey, licking her lips. Silent moved deeper into the forest.
"Hey," a voice called "What are you doing here?"
Silent looked up, eyes widening.
"I...I was just passing through." Silent stuttered out.
The she-cat unsheathed her claws and growled.
Get ready to fight.
"You'll regret coming through here." She hissed.

Silent gasped. She nearly killed a cat. Silent looked back. The gray tabby she-cat was sprawled across the ground, her leg covered in blood.
Good job, messy, but good.
"Rosemist!" A cat mewed nearby "Rosemist, where are you?"
Silent froze.
Run. Run as fast as you can.
Silent twirled around and ran.
