**Chicago, IL** – Officer Rebecca Caruso, daughter of Chicago Police Chief Superintendent Robert Caruso, has been arrested on charges of double manslaughter following a Federal Bureau of Investigation operation targeting the Montanari crime family in the Uptown-Lakeview neighborhood.

Witnesses allege that Officer Caruso intervened in the attempted arrest of Angelo Montanari, using force against fellow officers at the scene. The incident escalated, with automatic gunfire reported echoing throughout the neighborhood.

Caruso sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She is expected to appear in Federal Court on Wednesday. Her badge has been suspended, and authorities have stated that bail is not anticipated for the 27-year-old officer.

Chief Superintendent Robert Caruso has announced a private press conference to address the situation, which will coincide with his daughter's court appearance.
