Peyton's eyes were wide as they starred at what was in front of him. A Sleeping Dragon. He couldn't move, almost as if his feet were glued to the floor. He starred at the legendary beast as silently as possible, knowing that any loud sound could get the dragon to kill him.
As his breath caught up to him, he began to slowly back out of the cave. Forgetting the pillars from the ceiling, he continued to walk backwards, only to be smacked in the head by one, and falling in his back.
"Ouch..." He groaned, still on the ground. The dragon grunted and opened its crimson coloured eyes. It's gun metal scales reflecting the water which dropped down the cones.
Peyton heard the low groan and scooted away as quickly as possible, while passing a quick glance behind him. Peyton sat up and stopped scooting. He gazed into the dragons blood shot eyes.
The dragon gave out a puff a smoke threw its nose, as its shifted into a position which faced Peyton.
He swallowed hard, as the dragon blew some smoke. "I-I did-n't think....dragons....were real....." He whispered, almost as if expecting the dragon to respond.
The dragon glared at him, and Peyton began to fidget. The beast swished its tail around its laid body, and attempted to sit up, it's wings hunched in its scaly back.
Peyton stood up and began -again- to slowly back out of the cave. The dragon continued to stare at him, until he had left the cave. It gave a loud grunt before turning to face the cave wall.
Peyton's breathing relaxed as he exited the cave. That was the first, and last time going in 'THERE'. He heard a grunt, almost like it was...disappointed....
He glanced in and saw that the dragon was no where to be seen... He trailed in again, regretting every step that led further in the cave.
As he neared. He noticed something... strange....
The fear that grew inside him, wasn't as strong as is was before...
Peyton's steps became more intentional as he neared the end of the cave. What he saw...was nothing like a fearful dragon.
Yes he did see a dragon, he wouldn't deny that...but it seemed...like it was in submission... It continued to stare at the wall.
The closer Peyton got, the more is feR faded... How stupid was that? It's an effin dragon for goodness sake!!
He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. "Uh-" He was interrupted as the dragon tensed
The dragon moved its neck close to his face. So close, that he could feel it's breath on his face.
He starred into its crimson eyes for the second time. When a voice screamed in his head.
-Well!?-
Peyton's heart stopped. He swallowed the lump in his throat and looked away from its eyes. Peyton cringed as another puff of air hit his skin.
-Okay, I am dearly sorry, I will give my name first then. I am-----
"It it you, who's speaking?" Peyton interrupted as he walked closed to the dragon.
-Who else would you expect?-
"Oh I'm sorry, maybe I thought it was my father?"
-Please stop this nonsense and give me your name.-
Of course it didn't yell, but it sure felt like it to Peyton. "P-Peyton, I-I'm sorry...."
The dragon chuckled in his head. -You like to attract attention don't you? I must be going, but we will meet again hopefully.-
"W-What are you talking ab---" He couldn't finish as a silent clink hit the floor. He looked around when he heard someone.
"What's up chicken brain?" Peyton sighed and turned around, to be met with one of his closest friends, Genevieve.
"Whatcha doin'?" Peyton avoided the question. And turned to face the blonde.
"Your a princess you shouldn't be out here--"
"It's not like I'm a proper princess!" Peyton scoffed.
"Yeah, right." He began to walk out of the cave. "I bet your father isn't happy about that."
"Who says he knows? Anyways race you to the castle!" And she ran off. Peyton was to follow her, but walked back into the cave.
He looked around for the source of the small clink he heard, when something caught his eye.
It was a stone. Unlike any he'd seen before.
It reminded him of space. How the red merged with the black, blue, and purple. With flecks of white like the stars.
Of course. He picked up the stone, and began to examine it closely. "YO PEYTON!! YOU STILL IN THAT CAVE!?" He quickly shoved it in his pocket, and ran outside.
"No! I'm following behind you!" He stated, trying to get as much speed as possible, in such a short time.
