Author's POV
Back in the Wicked Reality
A brand new day it was! It had been a few days since the party. Due to it being held on Friday, everybody who had a troubling hangover was able to recover from them over the weekends. So that was a little convenient for all the pathetic bastards who got drunk at the stupid party.
Anyways, it was the beginning of the first day of the new week. Obviously, everybody hates Mondays, except for the weird ones who actually like it for some reason, but we don't talk about them.
Jin was on his way to the Supreme Court to work like any other day. He had to prepare the reports for the meeting that he was going to have with the Chief Justice, nearly the first thing in the morning. He had already read over the files and reports over the weekends, so it wouldn't be much of a surprise to him. All they had to do was decide a conclusive ruling for the case after looking at the bunch of evidence.
For some reason, on the way to the court, Jin was constantly feeling as if something was going to happen today, but he couldn't quite remember what it was exactly. His reminders and digital planner didn't remind him of anything like that. While he was in the traffic, he decided to quickly look through his Apple watch, to make sure that he REALLY wasn't forgetting about any event and it was just all in his head. Which he was right about, because again, there was nothing in his reminders regarding today, so it was just all in his brain.
After a while, he finally reached the Supreme court. He parked his car in the usual place and went to the elevator in the lobby area because that's where the main elevators to all the other floors are.
When he entered the lobby, he quickly showed the security his ID card and quickly rushed to the main elevator area. Many of the workers that saw him bowed to him, Jin ignored some of them and just waited in front of the elevator.
He got into the elevator and was really conflicted. Because his guts were genuinely going crazy over the fact that something was going to happen today but he still couldn't remember what it was.
He tried his hardest and pushed the thoughts away once again. He made his way to the usual office he works in. He soon got in and was greeted respectively by his receptionist. Jin was about to pass by there before she quickly spoke up.
"Judge Kim, just to remind you, but the new associate justice is going to be coming today."
And that's exactly when the realisation hit Jin hard in the head. Right! That's what he was forgetting. The new stupid judge that was probably going to be a jerk, is coming today. Jin was still not aware why his guts were going wild over THIS out of all the things, but well perhaps it's because Jin forgot something in a long while. Probably not, but let's see.
Jin just nodded his head and sighed before going inside to his main desk. He took off his long coat and put it on the coat hanger. He then sat down on his chair and started looking over the new files that were given to him beforehand for a case study. He poked the bridge of his round glasses that were slowly sliding off his nose. He took the rubber finger pads near his pen holder and put them on the tip of his thumb and index finger. Literally, everyone in courts used these because they helped with quickly and efficiently flipping pages and stuff.
Anyways, Jin started looking over the files and was already getting on with his work. He glanced at his digital watch once and saw that he still had around an hour before the meeting so he had enough time to take a look over his reports once again if needed. After a few minutes passed, a knock was heard in the room and following that, someone opened the room and entered. Jin thought that it was one of his paralegals so he started talking because he needed some documents. He also was just guessing because he was still flipping through the case file while looking at it.
"Ah, Yuna-sii, can you bring me the alibi of-" His words were right cut off right after then.
"Hello, I'm Kim Namjoon, the new associate justice"
A new voice spoke. Just then, Jin's eyes nearly widened. He immediately recognized this voice due to his mind constantly thinking about it unconsciously. His breath hitched and he was beyond shocked. Regardless of that, he just kept his usual poker face, but his jaw was clenched tightly, a deep frown on his face, and instant anger boiling in his veins.
He slowly turned his head to look up at the tall figure that he saw last Friday and God did Seokjin want to stab a scissor in his chest right at this instance. He didn't know exactly why he hated the male so much, ok maybe he did, but this was more anger than he would expect to have on someone who was clearly just trying to flirt with him. But Jin still loathed this guy to death and will literally unplug his ventilator to charge his phone in the hospital. Yup, that much hatred. And yes, Jin hated all humans, though, this guy just came in the top 10 of the people he hated the most.
Jin was frowning deeply, his way of showing that he was highly shocked without completely removing the poker face. He looked at the face of the person whose hair was black now. It's obvious that he dyed his hair back to black and well weirdly, he looked pretty nice with it, not that Jin cared. Namjoon had his same dimpled smile from the evening earlier. Just that same smile that made Jin want to rip his mouth apart.
Due to the amount of anger and shock, Jin couldn't help but start babbling.
"The...hell? What in the gosh darn world are YOU doing here!?"
He said while slightly raising his voice. He didn't know if it would be right to curse, but he didn't care anymore.
"Like bitch! How the fuck did you come following me over HERE!?" He loudly asked once again but the other just chuckled and started speaking softly.
"Haven't your parents taught you some manners about how to talk to other people?"
This time Joon questioned him but then he had another expression on his face which was clear that he was reminded of something. So just like he always does, he mumbled to himself.
"Oh right...you don't have any parents"
Jin was already enraged from what he said before and since he luckily heard this one too, he immediately sprinted to him and stood in front of him while looking up at him a little due to the slight height difference.
"The fuck you said asshole?! How do you even know, huh?! Tell me!" He pulled him by the collar, slightly close to his face. Joon still had a slight smile on his face.
"Well, I was just guessing and you just confirmed my hunch. Now let's put this aside for a while. So, if you don't know, then I'm actually your senior, Seokjin-sii, and that means you will have to respect me even if you don't like it."
Jin scoffed then brought a dark smirk to his face. "What if I don't? what will you do then?"
Joon poked his cheek with his tongue and smirked on his parted lips as well.
"Well, if it is above a limit, then I'd have to file a complaint against you. Or...punish you myself."
By the end of the last sentence, Joon was already holding Jin's hands that were gripping his collars and then gently yet with a little force he eventually removed them.
Namjoon's sick smirk was already extremely wide and well, Jin...he quickly took his hands from Joon's grips and started laughing loudly as if he heard a very funny joke.
Though, just after a few seconds, he stopped and his face instantly changed into a dark one, the polar opposite of before. You can say that this person also had his mood swings from time to time. His eyes turned dark and his sharp glare laid upon Joon who was just enjoying every bit of this conversation which took quite a turn.
"I think I already mentioned that night, that I'm not the weak type that gets punished. I am the type...that punishes disobedient bitches in quite a painful way, really. So don't think that would work on me." Namjoon chuckled darkly as well.
"A true dom you are and a pretty brave person you seem too. But well..." He came closer to Jin's ear and whispered.
"Bravery is a nice word for foolishness too..."
He pulled away and gave his innocent smile to him. Right after then, a knock was heard in the room again. Joon chimed a gentle 'come in' and the person outside came in. This time it was their receptionist. She was freaking out by the slight tension in the room again and Jin's cold glare was not helping but Joon's gentle smile did calm her down a little bit. She bowed and started speaking.
"The Chief Justice has already arrived and he has requested you both to make your way to his office because he wants to quickly start the meeting already. So you should get going now." She quickly explained and right after that, bowed and left the room.
And just like that, Jin brought the file of reports that the chief requested and after fixing his coat, he started heading with Joon following him to the Chief's office. They entered his room after knocking and bowed. With his permission, they took a seat around the huge meeting table in his office with the Chief sitting in the middle of the far end. Right after then, the meeting began after Jin gave the files to the Chief.
Now, I won't go into full detail about what exactly happened in the meeting but let's just say that...things didn't go in Jin's favour. First, they started off by studying some of the complications in the serial killer case of Choi Young-Jai. Then some discussion and ruling conclusions of the juvenile serial killing case. It was all well until when the Just Chief started to remove Jin from some cases and gave them to Namjoon. Yup! Jin was obviously beyond furious by the action and he even tried 'politely' protesting against it. But the chief said that he was already handling many cases at this point, so he wanted to lessen his burden a little bit too and decided to give the serial killer case to Joon.
There was one more criminal case they discussed and well, apparently for that case, there will only be 2 associate justices like normally and it would be Joon and Jin. Luckily Jin still had the juvenile case which would easily gain him more popularity but he wished for the other serial killer case, because, the more attention, the more popularity, the more popularity, the more fame, and more fame...the more power. You get the point.
But ever since this Kim Namjoon guy came into his life, everything has been going bad for him. Now he knew why he already hated this guy at first glance, well because, HE WAS A FUCKING BITCH...to him that is.
He was just way too nice and positive about everything. And throughout the day as they were working, the guy was even...good at doing his job. I mean he was appointed as the justice of the supreme court so, obviously, he HAS to be good.
He efficiently did all the case readings within half the usual time and even started to write a report by mid-afternoon. He was way more than just up-to-date with his work. Jin obviously didn't pay much attention, because he was always just focused on his work, but oh well, let's just say, even being in the same room as that guy, was way more than uncomfortable for him.
God knows what else trouble this guy is gonna bring for him.
Do you think things are gonna go down hill for Jin from here on? 👀👀
