Okay so my good friend dacatnextdoor14 had posted a contest. Here's a screenshot of it:

Here's my version and entry:

I don't have Prismas or anything like that, so I used a regular old line up of colored pencils. It took me forever to find ones close to the colors in the original, but I managed!

For my version I changed the way the stars were positioned and added more of them to give the stars movement out of the starry circle. The character at the time seemed to have a sweet kind of personality, so I gave her a bouncy and dynamic type of pose. I couldn't really tell how the character's hair was tied up, so I took a wild guess. Also, I gave the dress a kind of lighter texture and feel. I could've gone for a summer dress texture, but in the original both coat and dress looked like heavier material so I kept the flow as low as I could since Mal doesn't give much shading in the picture itself. Not that it's a problem or anything; her style is bootifull!
