❝Nothing's lost, no more pain
Just give me strength❞
"The car's here!" Aditya barged inside the door and Priyanka sighed in relief.
Shivaay was staring at them blankly. He ignored the pain in his throat as his eyes glared at them.
"Bhaiya...." Priyanka tugged on his arms and he turned around to leave. "Shivaay." He stilled but Priyanka pulled him away.
"Mr. Oberoi?" Aradhya asked concerned. He shrugged it off. I'm okay. His hands shook while forming the words, but they didn't push it just for his sake.
He got in the back seat with Priyanka and Aradhya in the passenger seat. Aditya drove them home.
"Take care." Aditya spoke as he patted Shivaay on the back. He nodded slowly, his eyes unfocused. "Bhaiya, you should go and rest...." Priyanka trailed off guilty. He just gave her a reassuring smile, he tried to. With trembling hands he unclosed the top buttons. His skin was glistening with sweat as he leaned back on the couch, his eyes closed.
Aradhya noticed his jaws clenched and she knew he was holding back from screaming out. "I'll bring the medicines." She spoke as he retreated back to change into comfortable clothes. Priyanka nodded and sat beside him. She can't leave him alone in this condition. Why did she have to confront them? She should have let it go...he pushed himself to his limits. She brushed his hair away, his skin was heating up.
"I will bring you some water." And she went in the kitchen. When she came back she saw Aradhya already giving him the medicines. Placing the bowl on the table she turned to him and wiped his face and neck with the water.
Shivaay sighed in relief when he felt Priyanka placing the wet towel on his burning skin. He tiredly opened his eyes to look at his sister gratefully. He raised his hands and she leaned into his touch, before letting out a quiet sob.
He straightened himself up, she launched herself into his arms crying openly. He patted her hair. Shh...Prinku I'm here. He wanted to say but his throat was hurting to much. He couldn't even open his mouth because of that. It hurt even when he tried to swallow the medicines Aradhya handed. And suddenly he felt his eyes dropping, his hands stopped their movements and he exhaled shakily. Priyanka's cries were echoing in his ears and the world turned infront of his eyes. And soon his movements went slack and he went unconscious in her hold.
Priyanka froze. "Bhaiya!" She turned to Aradhya who was looking calm. "Sedated." She spoke quietly. "We need to get him to the bed."

Annika stood frozen.
Just a few minutes ago he was standing right infront of her.
"D-d-do n-n-no-t—"
His voice sounded so hoarse as if it hadn't been used for a long time. It was cracking. And the painful—the expression that crossed his face for the briefest of moments when he uttered the words before the anger took over again. She noticed it. Something was definitely wrong. Otherwise that reaction from Priyanka. The protectiveness. And who was the other lady? Or why he stumbled slightly when Priyanka tugged on his arms, as if he didn't have any strength to hold himself up anymore?
He was not okay.
Thousands of questions were swirling in her mind as she stared at the door where they disappeared through.
Shivaay's blank eyes when he looked at his family. He didn't even turn to her once. And she didn't know whether she should feel relieved or hurt? Relieved because she knew she was not strong to survive the hate in the she once adored. Or hurt because.....
She needed to leave. And without turning to look back at the family, she walked right through the door.
<>
"P-please a chance! A chance is all I need." Was that his voice. Yes. He was begging. His family. To believe him?
"You have your family at stake." He heard a voice speak. His hair was pulled at and the burning sensation spread down his scalp and he grunted in pain. He tried to open his yes but they felt so heavy.
"You will die, Shivaay Singh Oberoi. You will die a very painful and slow death."
And he was pushed back in the waters. He choked and desperately tried to break away. But the hand. His felt his scalp tugging painfully whenever he tried to move. He felt the numbing sensation spreading down his body the moment his lungs started getting deprived of the oxygen. The water rushed in and clogged his airways. He choked and he felt himself pulled up to her surface.
And in the blink of an eyes the scene changed.
The hiss. The low painful hiss when that burning rod came in contact with his body.
He couldn't hold back his scream.
His mind was clouded.
And he was thrown into the water. To die. To struggle. To drown. He watched as the water around him turned clear from red in a matter of seconds.
"Stay awake." He didn't remember who it was.
His back arched up as if he was feeling the same pain he had felt over years ago.
Shivaay felt his lungs seizing up, his hands clenched around the sheets and suddenly his eyes snapped open. He was sitting right up on his bed gasping for breath.
His hands went for his mouth. He brought the fingers away, his eyes staring at the red on them and his stomach flipped. Blood.
"Throw it out!" He heard a voice say beside.
No! Don't throw him out again. Please.
And another scream tore open his throat as he backed away in fear.
"Shivaay! Spit the blood out for god's sake!" He heard a urgent voice say. Someone was rubbing his back. The wounds.
He cried out in pain. No. Not again. He didn't want to experience the same thing over and over again. A hand grabbed his and he couldn't stop the startled cry that escaped him. He thrashed to push them away.
Something stung. On his arms. And all the pain stopped. Something was holding onto his arm. It was soothing and it didn't hurt.
His eyes fluttered open to see. But they couldn't. It was just bright white light. He reached out and all he could see was himself. He was running. He reached out. The sinking feeling increased and he was plunged into those familiar water and his eyes snapped open.

Priyanka's heart was beating painfully in her chest. She couldn't replay the horror that washed over her when her sleep was interrupted by the familiar screams. And how her stomach dropped when her eyes fell upon her brother, who was thrashing in the bed to stop the pain he kept experiencing over and over again.
Six years and the pain didn't even relent even a bit. His body responds as if it was living those horrifying moments again and again. Her eyes fell on the tensed face of the doctor.
"He's swallowing down." No. She felt sick in her own stomach.
"Shivaay!" She watched as the doctor patted his cheeks to get him conscious instead he backed away from the touch. He wasn't aware of his surroundings. What had they done to her brother in the time they held him captive? To reduce him into this?
"Spit it out for fuck's sake!" She heard Aradhya cursing. But Shivaay's jaw remained snapped shut. His lips were colored red.
And then his movements ceased as he was injected once again. She watched as the quietness took over him. His eyes fluttered open, he looked around in confusion. His eyes taking in the surroundings but quite not registering where he was before they closed again.
He let out whimper and then a gasp. And his eyes once again snapped open and this time she could see the recognition in them.
Shivaay looked around in confusion. His stomach was churning painfully. The familiar coppery taste reached his mouth, he tried hard to keep it in when—
"Don't. Spit it out." And he did. He hunched over and emptied whatever that was in his mouth. Blood. The floor was colored red. His eyes widened.
He vomitted blood!?
Aradhya's eyes widened when she looked down. It has never gone over to this extent. Yes, bloodied coughs and——but this——
He eyes fell on Shivaay's face, he was paler than sheets. But he still looked like he was going to be sick and she was right. He leaned over and gagged himself dry.
The smell of blood reached them. And Priyanka stepped back lightheaded. It was too much. This all happened because of her. Shivaay was making progress. And she pushed him back where he was. Or even worse.
"It's okay." Aradhya patted him.
She placed the glass against his lips waiting for him to open them up. He did after a while, taking a small sip before draining it into the bowl. His eyes fell on the water. Crimson. Just like the one he was drowned into.
Shivaay couldn't understand. The world was turning around him. All he could feel was the burning sensation in his throat. The movements made his stomach churn painfully. Before he could understand what was happening with him. He was pushed back on his bed and his world turned black.
"How long will this continue?" Priyanka whispered faintly.
"The scars in body take years to heal—sometimes they never—" Aradhya paused. "These are the scars of his soul" she let out a humourless chuckle, "it might take his whole life." She wiped the blood from his lips. From his chin.
Her eyes fell on his hands. His palm was bloodied as well. He must have forced himself to stop.
Priyanka's eyes fell on her brother's unconscious form. Taking in the appearance, his clothes bloodied and she was faintly reminded of the time she had seen in the hospital. Surrounded by the machines which kept him alive. Unable to hold herself up anymore she exited the room in hurry. She can't see this, she ignored the calls of doctor as she retired back to her room, curling up in a ball and she let out the sob she was holding in.
<>
Shivaay looked around. He was back in the white room. He knew what was going to happen next. But this time it wasn't so.
"You can't run away from us."
"We will make you beg for death."
Who were they? He clamped his hands against his ears to shut of the voices but the intensity only grew.
"You will die because of your own blood, Shivaay Singh Oberoi."
And he gasped. What did they mean? He closed his eyes. But the voice increased and suddenly it went silent.
His eyes snapped open and he found himself staring into a pair of honey brown irises and a serene smile took over his face.
"Annika?" He reached out. She was smiling at him.
He called out to her. But she didn't respond. He took a step but he didn't move from his place how was it possible? He took another one, but he was rooted in his spot. The scene changed once again and his world turned black.
