First arrival

Staring at the bland hallway in front of her Sarah knew that she would have to find some way to entertain herself, otherwise she might actually go mad. Sarah was restrained in a wheelchair and was slowly being pushed to her new "accommodations". Having no idea how she got there at first, she started thrashing in her restraints. This quickly ended when the freaking Batman put a hand on her shoulder. She couldn't think, Batman was everything the criminals such as her brother described him as; dark, daunting, and dangerous. This just added to Sarah's confusion and fear but it definitely stopped her from struggling. That was about ten minutes ago and they were still pushing her through the same bland looking hallways in the large asylum.

Finally they reached their destination, a tiny room that held a small, wooden desk and a short African American woman. Small in stature she made up for it in presence. Her prescence made it clear that this was her domain and anyone who disagreed was soon regretting it. This contradicted her eyes though. They were soft, and a warm brown color. Her black hair was down around her shoulders and Sarah was reminded of one of her old friends, but she left Gotham a while ago. The brass nameplate on the desk said that the woman's name was Dr. Katherine Grimes.

Batman stood in the corner of the office, cloaked in the meager shadow the corner offered. Sarah glanced at him as the orderlies stopped rolling her wheelchair in front of the desk.

"Hello miss Jones. I am going to be your psychiatrist for the duration of your stay here at Arkham. Now, you and I are going to have sessions every other day here in my office all right? I understand that you have panic attacks. Can you please tell me what medication, if any, you were taking? It is taking a while to get your medical files."

Sarah simply stared at her doctor sheepishly.

"Do you know the medicine name?" A simple nod was all the doctor got in response.

Just then a small knock was heard. A nurse stepped inside with a file held tight in her hands. She looked at Dr. Grimes and Batman and squeaked, "Miss Jone's medical files are here and there is something that you should know. Miss Jones can't speak."

"What do you mean? She spoke perfectly fine when she was destroying the streets of Gotham." Sarah jumped at the gruff voice of Batman then turned her head to stare at him when he mentioned her destroying the streets.

The nurse gave the file to Dr. Grimes and scurried out the door. Dr. Grimes proceeded to flip through the file. As she read more the scowl deepened on her face. "It seems that after a head injury Sarah couldn't speak but her other self can."

" Other self? So she's like Dent?"

"Yes." Then the doctor turned her attention to Sara, "So, Miss Jones I will have you escorted to your room and a guard will retrieve you for dinner. Later I'll see if I can get you a notepad to write with so you can communicate to those around you. It will depend on your behavior, of course."

Sarah nodded her head as the doctor pressed a button under her desk which buzzed unpleasantly. An orderlie stepped in and removed the restraints from her, only to place on different ones. 'At least in these I can walk.' Sarah thought. Tugged along by the elbow Sarah thought about her situation. What had happened was her main concern. She remembered waking up that morning but that was about it. It was clearly night by now, nearly a whole day she couldn't remember. It was as if it never happened at all.

Finally starting to pay attention to what was around her Sarah noticed the orderlie shaking as he swiped a small pass card into a reader next to a door. Clearly the orderlie was frightened and now Sarah would have to live with whatever frightened the orderlie so much. 'Oh boy.'

Walking along the corridor Sarah spied the people who were the definition of fear for most Gothamites, the Gotham Rogues.
