9 Daring Dance

POV Jack

We cannot stay in here much longer. I can already sense how fear is approaching the hotel. She needs to be taken to Arendelle before everything is lost in the world of magic.

My fingers are caressing the crumbled piece of paper that's inside my pocket. The note is in my mind every hour of the day.

I told her that I need to meet up with Johnny and Mavis before the party. Gosh, they throw the most splendid parties that I know. Every once in a while I flew my way here when the wind let me heard the distant sound of Johnny's DJ equipment in work. That was before I managed to get myself on the other side of the barrier, before I lost my staff and before I did the exact opposite of my friends advices and tried to get to the other side. Only time will tell if it was a mistake but so far it seems like it was, even though meeting baby snow feels good.

We're meeting at Dracula's study room. The fire is crackling in the fire place and the dusty smell of old books is lingering everywhere.

"Jack," Mavis greeted me when she got in with Johnny.

"I think we have a lot to talk," I told them when I sat down on the couch that was directly in front of the fire place.

"Yeah," Johnny exhaled and glanced at Mavis before he collapsed to sit on an arms chair.

"Isn't Dracula joining us?" I said as I raised my eyebrow.

Mavis bit her bottom lip and did a quick embrace to herself. "No, daddy is..." she whispered.

"Dracula is being held captive," Johnny finished what Mavis tried to say. "We've been taking care of the hotel," he then added.

"Captive? Don't tell me..." I muttered.

"You sure have missed a lot Jack. Ever since you disappeared things have been weirder. First you Guardian friends came here to stay when they were searching after you and they mumbled something about you trying to get over the barrier," Mavis laughed like everything she spoke would be some crazy talk in her mind.

"They came by?" I questioned.

"Yes. And then monsters started coming here in search of asylum. Dracula's dad still takes care of us while Dracula is gone. Protects," Johnny explained.

"Protects of what?"

"You know. There's an uprising of dark. The Witch Queens are going after everyone," Mavis huffed.

"One by one the good ones are mysteriously disappearing and that's why Dracula went to check things out when we heard this rumor coming up from the monster visitors – some of whom have been here visiting for three years now even – but... Dracula never came back one year ago. Dennis thinks that he is on long vacation," Johnny exhaled. Mavis had sat down on the arm of the chair and Johnny was holding his hand on her shoulder as Mavis was upset.

I rub my chin for a moment. "This makes more sense," I mumbled.

"Yup everything is taken over. Good guys are losing," Johnny pointed out.

"Mm... I meant the fact that North's workshop was covered in dust as if he hasn't been there for a while. Also... the yetis...the elfs..." I wondered aloud.

"What about yetis and elfs?" Mavis exhaled and stared at me.

"They were violent and like possessed. Please don't tell this to Elsa, she's a bit... uptight with these kind of things," I smiled.

"They didn't know you?" Mavis asked and I shook my head.

Phil had attacked me from behind. He was like a wild animal, his claws were out and grabbed me as he did his best effort to snap his teeth through my neck by holding me still. Yeah I had been a bit troublesome in the past but he never intended to go as far as trying to kill me. The elfs, well, they were just out of control as if they had been alone for quite some time.

"We should really start to discuss about much happier things," Johnny mumbled and stared at the ground.

"Yes but the sad fact is that Jack is the first Guardian I have seen in years," Mavis said with her voice covered by worry.

"I'll find a way to fix things. Tomorrow I'll leave with Elsa before they try to find us from here," I told to them both.

"You don't have to leave," Johnny stated without a trace of doubt in his mind.

"We do. It is time to ask for a favor from few old friends and you guys have done enough already by giving us a place to stay for couple nights. We—I can't stay that long in one place," I smiled to them both.

"Yeah, they will sniff out you for sure," Mavis begun, "—it is like they know where they are afraid of certain people and I won't say that the Guardian of Fun wouldn't be a threat."

I nodded my head. This is something that I need to fix by myself, I can't let my friends down like I did on one Easter.

The memory of Easter getting ruined by my selfish actions still makes shivers go up on my spine but... am I doing the right thing now? Or am I just going to the wrong path again?

The door was knocked, in an insecure way and then followed by a question.

"May I come in?"

It was Elsa. We glance at each other and it seems like we got most of things sorted out.

"Come in," Mavis cheered.

Elsa's eyes wandered around the room and I saw curiousness in her eyes. The same kind of when she was a child and learning the true meaning of her powers. Her pure wish to understand and see things that might be harmful seems to still exist.

"Dennis and Winnie just finished the tour and I was just wondering if you had your business sorted out," she smiled.

"Yeah we did," Mavis smiled and tried to hide her sadness of her father being lost.

"Indeed! So now Mavis and I will go to organize the party and then Mavis will have that chat with you which she promised," Johnny grinned to Elsa and took the hand of Mavis before they left the room.

I patted the seat next to me and soon Elsa was sitting there.

"How are you planning to get me back home?" She whispered.

I felt a sting on my heart. Get her home? If she only knew...

"Uh, first I need to get you to kingdom of Arendelle," I exhaled. It wasn't a complete lie, it just wouldn't mean that she would get to go back to home.

"What's in there?" She frowned.

I stood up and I did as I always do when I'm feeling anxious. I goofed around by bowing in front of her.

"Your kingdom your majesty," I spoke with respect while I stared at her from under my eyebrows. I still stayed in my bowing position with my left hand behind my back and my right touching my chest just above my heart.

"No. What really is in there? Some sort of magic portal like the one that brought me here?" She insisted.

"Your kingdom," I said while I straightened my back, "the kingdom has been quite some time without their rightful queen. 13 years ago the ruling king and queen escaped with their two princesses. Ringing any bells?" I grinned.

"That's nonsense," Elsa bursts into nervous laughter.

"We're in the magic side. The barrier was created to protect that family just when they left, before the world wasn't divided into two parts. Unfortunately only us in here know about this piece of history because the barrier is meant to erase memories of magic on the other side. Where do you think that you got that power of yours?" I smiled a friendly smile to her.

She still seems to be in doubt which makes me sigh.

"Okay, how about we go there and I show you few paintings around the castle? I swear that there's a painting of your family," I said mischievously.

She thought for a moment with her arms crossed over her chest. Her brows were wrinkled above her determined eyes.

"Alright but you better not be lying," she exhaled finally.

"Good, it is all settled then! We'll leave straight in the morning tomorrow," I cheered as I gave my hand to her. I carefully left out the fact that we're have to move quickly because we're being followed by something we don't want to meet.

She took my hand and I pull her up from the couch. The pull was a bit too strong and she collided against my chest with her chest. She lifted her face up and our gazes met.

"Jack... there's a reason why I wanted you to come to my 18th birthday. I remember now," she whispered and a hint of redness rose to her cheeks.

"Umm.. yea, sorry that I missed your birthday," the words of mine were regretful.

Her eyes look away from me and her hands squeeze the fabric of my hoodie.

"If you just close your eyes you'll know why," she said and slightly cleared her throat.

I felt a bit puzzled but I gave her a nod before closing my eyes.

Her hands go to my shoulders and I feel how she takes support, her weight is pushing my shoulders down and her body is moving up by sliding against my chest.

Something pokes my chin and then I feel warmth, I smell her breathe which smells sweet like cotton candy. Then I feel a sensation on my cheek, it feels soft and tickling.

My eyes flash open and I see what the feeling was caused by. Elsa's rosy lips are pecking a kiss on my cheek. She's standing on her toes, my arm goes behind her back to support her. My heart is pounding and weird shivers go through my body.

Slowly she parts her lips from my cheek. Her eyes are curious as she stares into my eyes, it is like they're asking if it was okay. For a moment she looks down towards my lips, my body is screaming to me. Screaming that I should reply with a 'yes' to her modest request and smash my lips against hers.

The thought made me frightful and I took my arm back from behind her. She dropped down to her feet with questions written all over her expression.

I took a step back, my body was burning. My mind was tormenting me.

"Thank you," I managed to stutter out.

She grabbed to her right arm shyly. "You didn't like it? You sound a bit unsure.." Her voice was like a whisper.

" Baby snow, " I began warmly, "—you're like a little sister to me and... what else a big brother would want than a lovely kiss on cheek after being apart for a long time?" I smiled reassuringly.

Elsa replied with a simple smile but I sensed that she was a bit disappointed to my answer. I couldn't be as happy as she wanted me to be. For years I felt like being this big brother figure to her, I wanted to protect her and for us to have fun together. I still want that but the more time I spent with her, the more I have these weird thoughts inside my head. I knew that she would grow up one day like everyone I knew had done before. However she is the first one who makes my mind go all over the place.

Elsa left the room after telling me that she needed to get ready for the party.

I can't deny that I'm a failure. The good idea is now to throw my thoughts aside and move on. She might forgive me one day for doing this even though she might not see my point until later on. Everything is so confusing right now.

I need to focus anyway, to make things better again.

POV Elsa

Mavis was waiting for me just like I had asked. There were things that I wanted to ask and I missed the girl to girl talk which I often had with Anna. However Anna isn't here right now and it might take some time before I'm again reunited with my little sister.

"So how do you like our candle suite?" Mavis grinned. I saw how her finger was tickling a single flame above the lit candle.

"Watch your fingers!" I gasped.

She pulled her finger back and smiled. "Don't you worry, fire can't burn me if it's that small," she told me and winked her eye.

"Oh... well the room is really pretty but I really don't get the selection of shampoos you have in here and how come that there's no electricity?" I wondered aloud.

"We have the most desired shampoos that are selected by the needs of our guests but since you're human... I suggested the one labeled with 'strawberry cloud' unless you want some skin damage. Then the other choices are great too! This room is meant to be nostalgic so no electricity," she cheered.

"I see... uh..." My body was shivering, the question I wanted to ask was bothering me.

"Yeah?" Mavis smiled and walks around the suite with her arms behind her back. I began to hear the sounds of DJ playing music and the voice of Johnny insisting that people get on the dance floor.

"Mmm... I see that Johnny started the party by the pool," Mavis laughed and went to peek outside from the window.

I went next to her. People were dancing and even the pool was made into dance floor, it was covered in shimmering ice. Jack was with Johnny on the stage, they were playing music with some beat with the DJ equipment.

Jack was laughing and looking at Johnny who started to sing. His voice was surprisingly low. My cheeks flushed when I look back at Jack who was playing with the CD, his fingers were rolling it back and forth.

"I guess you wanna chat about boys?" Mavis said mischievously which made me to stop staring at Jack.

My eyes widened and I laughed nervously. "No, not at all. Why would you think that?" I lied.

Mavis just smiled, crossing her arms over her chest. She raised her eyebrow and I exhaled.

"Uh... well, you guessed right. I might have a slight crush on him but he isn't interested. It is not like your and Johnny's Zing thing but well," I mumbled.

"Why would you say that?" Mavis questioned.

I bit my bottom lip, "He said that he feels like he is my big brother."

Mavis exhaled and looks down for a moment before meeting my eyes again.

"What is it?" I asked.

"You see--," she began, "—Jack is really old, older than I am. I am way older than Johnny but I was okay with that. Jack has known you since you were a child am I right?"

"Yes."

"Then he needs to see that you're not a little girl anymore," Mavis cheered and went to the pile of clothes which she borrowed earlier.

"I think he knows that," I groaned.

"Not enough! You need to show that woman body of yours a bit more," Mavis sounded teasing and then she threw me this black dress which was really short. It would end just above my knees if I wore it.

"You can't say that I need to wear this," I exhaled.

"Well I don't because you just said it!" She laughed. "And you need to dance in front of him while wearing that."

I gulped. "I need to throw myself at him?" I whispered with my high pitched panicking voice.

"Again... you said it, not me," she smiled and seemed happy to herself.

I groaned before I headed to the bathroom to change. The dress which Mavis borrowed was tightly fitted, it showed each and every curve I have. Would dressing like this really help?

"Are you sure about this?" I gulped when I got out from the bathroom.

Mavis showed me thumbs up. "That's totally showing that you're a woman now!" She cheered.

Then she stared at me seriously. She was so deep in her thoughts that it scared me. Suddenly she came straight towards me.

"What?" I gasped and in just few seconds she had unbraided my hair.

I touch my hair that is now open. The wavy curls are going halfway to my back now.

"I think this completes the look," she nodded her head with approving smile.

"What look?" I laughed nervously. "The morning after look?" I exhaled.

Mavis winked her eye. Oh gosh, I probably shouldn't have asked.

"Once he kisses you there's no way he can ran off again! But getting that kiss from him isn't easy... I mean he has always been a bit childish in a way but in the end he is a guy," Mavis shrugged.

"Are you saying that I should seduce him or something?"

Mavis nodded her head and blinked her eyes innocently. "This would be easier if you two had Zinged but until you find your Zing... you need to work to get what you want," she grinned.

"I guess so," I sigh my defeat. "We should go to the party," I huffed.

I was heading towards the door when I suddenly heard this squeaking sound and when I turned around I saw a bat flying towards me. It was Mavis who then grabbed the edge of my dress from behind my back. Soon I felt my feet lifting up from the floor.

"What are you doing!" I shrieked.

"Taking you to the party of course," she giggled when she flew to the balcony.

Nobody could hear my terrified screams over the music. I have never experienced flying before, not like this and I don't like it at all! Well, just yesterday I experienced falling down from high up and it wasn't fun either. When I rethink of the experience it makes my stomach twist upside down.

I was panting hard when Mavis finally landed me to ground. The hotel guests were dancing around us. A mummy, yeah, the one wearing white bandages around its body, just bumped into me and apologized and then continued dancing.

"Sorry, it seems that this frightened you," Mavis sounded regretful. She had turned from bat back to something more humanlike.

"I'm alive at least," I exhaled when I wiped my hair off from my forehead.

"Well you should go up on the stage and dance with Jack. I'll do it with Johnny!" Mavis yelled over the noise. "Besides you need to sing after that!" She added.

She turned into bat before I could say anything. I saw her flying over the dance floor and then she turns back into more humanlike on the stage. She circled down and whispered something to Johnny.

A new song started to play. Jack was using the DJ equipment and clearly enjoying the moment.

"It's alright

You're ready for the night

Of your life

Stars will shine so bright

They say

We're dancing the stress away

(Hey hey)"

Johnny was singing the lyrics while I was making my way through the dance floor. I dodged someone who looked like Frankenstein and Ms. Frankenstein, they were going wild over the music.

Johnny continued his singing while Mavis was dancing in front of him. Johnny spins her around and they have this loving eye contact which I envy.

I stood near the stairs that led up to the stage. I embraced myself while I watched Jack. Now I should just walk up there and dance. My eyes look around the dance floor, there are so many viewers up here. Can I do this?

Johnny was singing the cheerful dance music loudly and flawlessly which I admired.

"Welcome to the club now

Everybody's up now

We've got it goin on

Until the break of dawn

Welcome to the club now

Gonna pump it up now

This is an emergency

Music is my galaxy

Welcome to the club now

Everybody's up now

We've got it goin on

Until the break of dawn

So put the record on

So put the record on

So put the record on

Operator!"

After Johnny had sang his part I notice how Jack takes a step back from the DJ equipment, letting Johnny to take over the DJ section.

Jack took the microphone from him and began singing the rap section. I began making my way up the stage at that point. He didn't notice my presence while I got closer.

"Here in the club my looks are sexy

Call me 'the drops' and then check my ID

Then guide them (Ho)

Then guide them (Ho)

Hey Manian I'm gonna rock the show

Operator (Crank it up!)

Operator (Crank it up!)

I and amigo we enter the club

We enter the club!

Enter the club!"

Jack was clapping his hands together in the air now and he gave the microphone back to Johnny who just left the DJ section. Jack turned to go back to DJ section but he was bumped into me, I smiled to him shyly.

"To the club now

Jump

To the club now"

Johnny was singing again but I stood here still while being little dumbfounded by everything.

"Dance," Mavis whispered to my ear as she danced her way past me to the DJ section. She began using them and I started to move in the phase of the music.

Jack stared at me in confusion and I decided to move it up a notch. I turn my back towards him and I sway my hips from side to side. Each moment my movements become bolder, my hands are moving in the rhythm of the music.

Slowly I back up while looking at him over my shoulder. His face is a bit red and I feel my cheeks warming up as well. After a quick look to the dance floor I see that everyone is minding their own business and not noticing us. All of the hotel guests are dancing and having fun.

I look quickly to my front, I don't want him to notice the blush on my cheeks. My body crashes against his, I roll my shoulder against his chest and it caused him to place his free hand on my hip. My heart began beating like a wild running horse whose hooves are hitting the ground on each step it takes.

Mavis gives me this convincing look, her head is moving in the phase of the beat. I continue swaying my hips from side to side. A moment later I feel the weight of his chin on my shoulder, his fluffy white hair is tickling my cheek.

"Stop," he mumbles close to my ear, his lips are gently touching my neck.

His body is joining to my dance, we're swaying to the music and I lean my weight against him.

"Stop," he said again but this time he pinned tightly against him.

He had placed his wooden staff in front of me, he held it with his two hands as it pressed my body in a way that I couldn't move.

The song ended and the guests wanted more of music. Jack had let go of me which startled me. I did a quick turn to face him. His expression made me feel nauseous, he was just looking down with this serious look on his face, it was like he was slightly grumpy.

"Don't do stuff like that," Jack said quietly.

I swallowed the lumpy feeling as I squeezed my hands tightly against my chest.

"And next we'll have an actual artist performing a song for all of us! Give your applauses to Elsa!" Johnny announced right when Mavis came to me and took my hand.

She was taking me to the centre of the stage, away from Jack who still stood near the stairs that lead away from the stage and were closer to the corner where the DJ equipment was. Now he went back to the DJ position without a trace of smile on his face. He didn't even look at me.

"I think that I ruined it," I said quietly. Mavis had saved me from a situation that turned out to be a disaster.

"Uh,no! You just need to...umm.. do something else," she laughed nervously.

Johnny was coming towards us with the microphone held forward.

"Now sing something and get that out of your head," Mavis whispered just before Johnny managed to shove the mic to my hand.

Jack was playing this simple beat that sounded like something is awaited. The crowd went silent and now people threw their attention towards me. I stroke my hand through my hair and I cleared my throat.

"How's everyone doing?" I asked nervously. They remained silent.

Nice Elsa, you surely know how to capture your audience. Some singer you are.

"I'm going to sing you guys something. I hope that you'll enjoy it," I exhaled and then I inhaled. My heart was beating painfully inside my chest, the whole thing with Jack was now this memory which will surely go to my most embarrassed moments list.

Get yourself together Elsa. You can do this. I convinced myself again like I do before each show I throw to my audiences, however this time I really needed some self-encouragement.

A/N:

OY MINNA!

How's my beautiful snow storm doing? Yeah, ya heard me... you guys are my snow storm!

First I need you guys to make a choice. What song do you want Elsa to sing in the next chapter? Please reply to this everyone so I can start typing down the chapter.

PS. We will get two – nope – three new character introduced in next chapter. Let's play a guessing game.

First one of them is sarcastic, brave, innocent and fun-loving with love to adventures. Second one is easily annoyed, free-spirited, selfless and a bit rebellious but really daring. Third one is a bit immature, kind-hearted and funloving but can be seen as dangerous. First and the third are close friends and share something in common. First and second both had strong father figures.

Who are the first, second and the third?

Song: Manian – Welcome to the Club
